You can't change to 'None' until you clear up the previous payment problem.  Add a fresh iTunes gift card, or add a credit card, and then once the billing issue clears, you can choose 'None' again.

  • HT2534 the none button on the billing info is not there anymore

is apple not want people to created new account if they dont want to fill out billing info anymore?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Open iTunes and navigate to the app store. Select a free app to download. A simple way to do this is to scroll down to the top free apps box on the right hand side, hover your mouse over the first item and click on the free button that appears when you hover over it.
A pop up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID click "create new account", click continue to create your account. Check the box to accept the store terms and conditions and click continue.
Enter your email address, password, security question, and date of birth, click continue. Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Note now that the last option says "none".

I have an Apple account which I need to fill in the billing system via Visa and which I did, but there happend to be a problem where I couldn't update, download or even purchase an app. I assumed there wasn't enough cridet in my internet card so I got a new card with money in it, but it gave me an error saying "There is a billing problem with a previous purchase.". Even though I got a new card it still shows me the same message and when incerting the new card number it tells me "invalid security code". I have contacted the card company to know if the problem is from them but I have updated my account and got this new card but still having same errors. could you help me look what's the problem with the billing system?

  • HT1918 Why there is US 1 dollar charges twice today when I re-key in my credit card

Today I change my billing info from my debit visa card to another visa card, and I find out that iTunes has charges me US Dollar 1 twice to the new visa card, why this happen? Please provide reasonable explanation.
    Regards

Each time that you change or add your card details a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.

  • I want to download a free app but, when I'm about to finish it, it says that I have a problem with the billing and that I have to provide valid credit card info to continue...

The thing is, I've never used my credit card to buy a thing on the app store... and when I go to the purchase history, there's nothing...
I've tryied to change credit cards, and I always calls invalid, that I've got the numbers wrong... but I've put them right...
    what should I do?

    Hello Snoweagle57,
It sounds like you are trying to download a free app, and when prompted to enter a credit card it is declined. I would use this article to go into iTunes and change your payment method to None:

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click “iTunes Store” in the left navigation pane. Click the “down arrow” next to your name at the top right side of the page and click “Account.” Enter your username and password and click “View Account” to log into your account information. Next to your Payment Type, click “Edit.” Select the “None” button and click “Done.” Confirm that your card has been removed by returning to the Apple account information screen. Under Payment Type, it should say that there is no credit card on file.

  • HT1918 There is no option called ( none ) on my payment method and i don't have any available credit-card now !

    Please HELP. !
There is no option called ( none ) on my payment method and i don't have any available credit-card now !

    Howdy there Asaryeh,
It sounds like you want to select None as an option in your iTunes Billing info. This article explains why that is not available, and the criteria for being able to select it:
Why can’t I select None when I edit my payment information?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366?viewlocale=en_US
If you want to select None and remove the payment information or credit card from your account, follow these steps.
Using an existing iTunes Store or App Store account
If you have an unpaid balance or payment due, you can't select None as your payment type. To see which order you need to pay for, view your purchase history. When you sign in to the store, you may see a message that there was a billing issue with your last order. Click the Billing Info button to see the order.
After you pay for the order, you can change your payment information to None.
Creating a new iTunes Store or App Store account
When you create a new store account or sign in with an existing Apple ID (that you haven't used in the store), you must provide a payment method. If you want to remove the payment method after you create the account, you can change your payment information to None.
If you want to create an account with a new Apple ID, follow these steps to create an account without a credit card.
Changing the country or region for an iTunes Store account
When you change the country or region of an existing Apple ID, you must provide a payment method. If you want to remove the payment method after you change the country or region, you can change your payment informationto None.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

i just bought an ipod, but i cnt download anthing in the app store because i do not have a credit card or any of  those billing settlements.. please help me...=(

This same thing happend to me,  you have to make a new account and you have to chose your birthday as if your under 18 or 16,  because if you dont own a credit card,  you shouldnt be over this age,  so basictly just make a new email and appleID and when you chose your birthday,  do it under 16 years of age (or your REAL birthday) and you should have an option of clicking "none" for credit card options,  but if you want to buy something,  you will have to do the credit card stuff,  or you can just buy an apple gift card at basictly any store,  So this is how i fixed my problum,  i hope it works for you,  write back your responce of how it worked out please!
