HT1918 I cannot update my payment information in my itunes account.

Have followed all the instructions and signed out and back in again but the edit details section will not accept my current payment details or address - I have moved and my credit card has been replaced due to expiry. Itunes keeps telling me that my (new current) details are incorrect and it is so very frustrating!!! Enough to make me stop using apple altogether. Any offers of advice? or perhaps there are tech issues ??

i went back to check the Mac entry just to make sure it stuck.  when i enter the CORRECT security code it seems to accept it.  i click done and it seems to save the info.  but when i re-log in, the security code and exp date are empty.  this is the correct info.
this is so frustrating that you are not able to speak to someone by phone at Apple about this type of issue. 
i fully appreciate your help but there seems to be something going on with apple's recognition of my credit card info...

  • HT1918 Cannot change my Payment information to NONE. iTunes is now blocking my purchase from gift cards

    I am ready to pull my hair out.  Spent 40 minutes with Apple Support and they could not find a way to fix the issue on my iTunes payment info.
    I don't have a US credit card and need to change my payment info to NONE and use my giftcard balance instead.  But I was foolishly trialling my international credit card on the system and now it is stuck in the payment info and no matter how many times I verify the card info - I still cannot delete it.
    If there are any helpful souls out there who had similar issues- I would be eternally grateful to hear how yours was resolved.

    You should be able to update your payment info as described on the page that you posted from e.g. by logging into your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes. If that isn't working, then are you getting any error messages, and what are you trying to change your payment method to e.g. debit or credit card ?
    If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
    If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is and if it's being declined then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management

  • I cannot update the song information on my iPod in iTunes.

    I got an iPod Touch 4g about a year ago.  Last month the iPod all the sudden stopped working. I took it into the store twice and the second time they simply replaced it with a new one. Since then I have been having two problems:
    1) The operating system has been running extremely slowly. I brought it into the store today and they suggested reinstall the OS and that this should fix the issue with it. I can't really ***** that problem right now.
    2) I for some reason cannot update the song information on the iPod directly in iTunes.  If I change the name of the song or the album or genre in Itunes that is actually on the iPod, it'll show up as changed in Itunes but on the iPod itself it hasn't changed. On my old one, whenever a change was made it would often say, "One moment while library updates." It doesn't do this on my replacement.
    In order to change information for the songs, I need to delete the copy off my iPod, update the information on the computer copy and then retransfer it over. Is there some setting I need to change in order for the changes to take place. I would like to avoid going back to the store a fourth time.

    1) Powering off nd then back on the iPOd tends to fix the lag problem for a while
    2) The problem with updating music is a known problem with iOS 5 and as you found out, you have to delete/unsync the music form the iPod and then resync.

    I've recently had to cancel my old credit card. I've just been handed my new one. Same bank, same billing address. I've been trying to update my payment information for two days now, with no success. iTunes says one of two things: "Your credit card informatin does not match your bank's records. Please enter a US credit card and matching address." Of course the credit card is US as well as the bank. I
    've already called the bank twice to check that all the information is correct: billing address, credit card number and that the card is activated, etc. And they've said yes to all the aforementioned.
    The other legend I recieve is: "Enter a valid security code." So it's either one or the other, but I just can't get it to work. And the bummer is that I can't update nor download anything from iTunes nor the App Store until I get this corrected.
    Any takers? Please Help!

    Try the troubleshooting help here >  iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records
    And something else to try...
    Launch iTunes then from the menu bar click iTunes > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
    Click:  Reset warnings and Reset cache then click OK.
    See if that helps.
