Did you boot to the Internet Recovery Partition?
Here’s how:
1/ Make sure your computer is completely shut down.
2/ You’ll have to be quick next: Press the Mac’s power button. As soon as you either hear the loud chime, or see the display light up - usually after a second or 2 - on your keyboard press [alt] + [cmd] + [r] Keep these keys on your keyboard pressed until you see a spinning globe with the text “starting Internet Recovery” You might have to connect to your Wi-Fi network before you can continue here.
After a few minutes, you’ll be presented with a Utilities screen. This is the Internet Recovery partition. If this step is already giving you problems, try using a USB-keyboard. It doesn’t have to be an Apple-keyboard. If you have a Windows-tailored keyboard laying around, use the “Windows-flag” key in stead of the [cmd]-key and it should also work.
3/ Choose Disk Utility and click [continue] -

My kindle does not want to open on my iPad. When I touch it - a grey screen
with kindle written in the middle appear for a few seconds. Then goes away.
I have restarted the iPad - still the same? What else can I do?

MarynaJudging by the reviews of the current version of the Kindle app you aren't the only one haveing problems with it - it looks like Amazon need to fix something with the app.
Have you tried closing the Kindle app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Kindle app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
You could also try deleting the app and redownloading it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it (you will then need to redownload your books in the app, assuming that it opens). -

I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 installed in my PC (Windows XP) in Chinese Language. I want to change the language to English. I tried re installation but its still coming in English. Please Advise.

You can go under 'Control Panel > Programs' and click Change for Acrobat 5.0
From the Custom Setup dialog box that opens, select Languages and choose English as the desired language for the software.

I have somehow compromised by Time Machine. Error Msg is "Time Machine.app can't be modified or deleted because it's required by Mac OsX. I wish to restore previously files that are on my external hard drive. I was doing just find a couple of days ago. Would you please advise me on what I can do to restore it's finctionality?

Well, it could be that your carrier doesn't have a signal when it looses its signal. You could try resetting network settings which might help - Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings. You'll need to set up any wi-fi networks you connect too again. If you're still having issues, contact your carrier.
