HT1918 I have managed to change my apple email address on my IPad but it continues to show my old user I'd (email address) when I go to ITunes or update Apps already purchased and I am unable to modify it to the new accepted Email address!

Unable to change my Apple Id fully, the Apple I'd screens still show my old Email address even though my apple email has been changed correctly? This means that when I go to ITunes or try to update my apps the old I'd (email address ) is shown and you cannot change it on these screens. How can this be resolved?

Does the updated version of your account show in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on the iPad ? If not then try logging out of the account by tapping on that id and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.

  • HT201272 Lost iPod, lost music. On my old computer I had almost 16 gigs of music on iTunes some of which was purchased and most of which was put on there from my CD collection or from CDs borrowed from friends.

When I got a new computer, only about half of that music, including all music purchased, wound up in iTunes. I didn't worry about this as all 16 gigs were still on my iPod. Then I lost my iPod and about 8 gigs of music.Because it was there in iTunes on my old computer, I assume it still exists somewhere. I would like to retrieve it somehow. Can anyone help me do that?

    Unless you had subscribed to iTunes Match and uploaded that music to it then no, it won't be stored anywhere. You haven't got it on a backup e.g. an external drive ?

    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    If that fails:
    Restore from your back up

  • Can I use apps already purchased and in iTunes if I purchase a new iPod.  2nd gen I have died today

    My 2nd Gen iPod Touch is stuck in the restore mode.  Screen shows USB plug and iTunes logo.  I have tried multiple times to restore it through iTunes and the restore process keeps erroring out.  After checking the repair pricing, it's probably wiser for me to buy a new iOS5 model.  Is there anyway I can use the apps I have already downloaded and paid for on a new unit?  My suspisions are no, but thought there might be a way to do this.

    Thanks guys for the help.  Just placed my order for a white 32GB unit.  Since the original was a Christmas present from my wife, and she had engraved a nice message on the back, I decided to duplicate the message on the new one. 

  • HT1848 when i backup my iPad to my computer, it tells me i need 2 authorize my computer; when i do it tells me it's already authorized, and the process repeats. i try to proceed and again it says i need to authorize the computer...it just repeats itself.

    i have authorized my computer to backup purchases made from my iPad so many times it's just maddening. every time i attempt to back the iPad up, i get a prompt telling me i need to authorize my computer. when i enter my info i get a prompt telling me the computer is already authorized (which i know). when i try to proceed i get the prompt again telling me to authorize, and it just goes around in a circle, telling me  to authorize then saying i'm already authorized. how do i get off this treadmill?

I have managed to change my apple ID to my new (personal) email address which is fine but I know I have previously bought stuff from the App Store so need to also be changing my billing/account details but I cannot find where/how to do this. Can someone help pleas?

    If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.

After the last iTunes update my phone wasn't recongnized and the phone asks if I want to trust the computer everytime I connect it. Other programs can access the photos and recognize the iPhone 5 but not iTunes.

    Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

    Content and Apple IDs -
    Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple Id to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new ID.

    Then I could finally log in App store also.
    But still I feel something is wrong with my connection.

    Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
    This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

    Yes, otherwise you will have to pay for those apps again. If an app is purchased by one Apple ID, he/she will be able to redownload it again for no cost (note: this does apply to songs, but NOT to movies).

    While I am no fan of Best Buy and would not buy a lightbulb from them I doubt you issues have anything to do with your iMac and more to do with your lack of experience and simply getting bad advice. Judging by you post I suspect you have loaded your computer down with a lot of crapware and that  has caused it's problems. For example running antivirus apps on a Mac not only is a waste of time, it's a waste of money, system resources and will eventually create more problems that it solves. Please begin educating yourself on the subject by reading Thomas Reeds articles on the subject, Thomas is a frequent and knowledgeable contributor to these forums.     The good news is here are absolutely no, zero, zippo viruses for OS X. There are other types of malware available (for example trojans) however they differ greatly from viruses in that the use has to download and install them, whereas viruses do not work that way. OS X is not like MS Windows and is extremely secure.
    My suggestion at this point would be to clean your computer of the crapware (including antivirus apps) however before doing so please download and install EtreCheck and post its report. Then we can see how your computer has been configured and begin to give you some advice on the next steps.

    You should be able to copy it from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, or you should be able to re-download it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes Store home page - if that says that it's already downloaded, then that implies that it's already on your computer
