to my account to make purcheses but every time i try a small block in the corner saids for assistance contact apple support and dose not continue
She has a apple acc and uses it i recently got an iphone and thus want to get going but i cant due to this issue please help.
The credit card has to be in the same name as the Apple ID you are trying to associate it with...

I'm trying to add my Halifax Visa Debit card to iTunes, But it says my payment method has bee declined. Yes my details have been put in correctly. Does Apple accept Halifax? or am I having a bad day today?
I don't think that debit cards are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. I was trying to add an itunes library to my computer, and now my itunes library can not be found. An ipod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. How can I find my Itunes library, complete with playlists ?
I have the same problem too and tried alot of things like time zone , restarting or changing DNS of wifi connection to 8.8.8.8 still nothing happens .. !!

Error when trying to add printer on USB Print Server
I'm attempting to connect to a Canon MP530 printer via a Netcomm NP3680 USB Print Server.
When attempting to add the printer via the Print & Scan process, the USB port is seen by the MacBook and listed - ie: mini_me-3-usb2, and the driver is selected automatically without any problem after gathering printer information, however the macbook is unable to connect and returns the error: "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer."
If a manual configuration is attempted the message returned is: "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time." Further manual config via the IP address will allow the printer to be entered, however the printer is non-responsive.
I have setup this printer via the same Print Server on the same Macbook prior to this and it setup and worked correctly - the same setup is working correctly on my wife's macbook. However I had to remove the setup on my Macbook and can't get the printer functioning again on this particular Macbook, or my son's.
The direct connection setup via USB directly works without any problem at all.
I'm currently running OSX 10.8.1, however my son is running 10.7.x and has the same problem. My wife's macbook is also running 10.7.x and is working fine.
Can anyone throw any light on this issue - it is truely frustrating, especially when I know it has worked in the past.

GDTAfter 55 views and 0 replies, and a number of calls to Applecare (without success) , I decided to once again troubleshoot the problem.
Fixed!
Bearing in mind, I had no other printers already set up in the Print and Scan window....
I removed the following items from the /library/preferences directory:
"com.apple.print.makequeues.plist",
"jp.co.canon.ij.print.filter.raster2canonij.plist",
"jp.co.canon.ij.print.utility.command2canonij.plist",
"org.cups.printers.plist"
I also removed all items from the /library/printers directory (including Canon, PPDs, plist files and icons)
Then I retried to install the printer..... (holidng my breath) and the Console showed:
Repairing access permissions of "/Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist"
All is fine now -

You always have the option of connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi if you have a home network. You will also likely not have a data cap on how much data your use through Wi-Fi.
Note that you will require some type of internet connection to activate the iPad for use. If you don't have a home network, you can always go to a Starbucks to activate the device (I've personally had to do this).

Search the iTunes App store to see if there is a free Brother printing App. Other Apps like Print n Share will work for non-AirPrint printers, but are not as convenient as using AirPrint. They generally require you to use their own text, mail, browser and photo programs, and do not work from within other iOS Apps. One exception is that some Apps have an "Open In" option, that allows you to open a document in the printing App and then print it.
Another alternative is to use one of the computers to share its printer as AirPrint over WiFi. Printopia on the Macintosh is one program that can do that. For a free solution, search the web for AirPrint Activator. There are versions for both PC and Mac computers. Of course the computer has to be turned on and awake anytime you want to print!

I'm lost with my new "used" iPod touch 4th gen. Just downloaded iOS 6; seems to be trying to access a WIFI signal but I have it hard wired into my MAC and I do not have WIFI. Need iPod for dummies - very basic and simple help.
On the computer you should be able to go to the network properites. Go to the TCP part and unchec the line that says obtaind DNS automatically and check the one that says use the following. Add the 8.8.8.8 and Google other 8.8.4.4.

Help - Trying to add a Homehub 2 to extend my Home...

I've recently acquired a Homehub 2 (type A) and I'm trying to add it to my network to extend my Wifi. My primary router is a Homehub 3 (type A). I'm using TP Link Powerline adapters around my house to extend my wired network, and plugging my HH2 into a gigabit switch from one of the Powerline adapters (I know this works as I have a working Xbox and WDTV both networked from the switch via the Powerline adapter).
I've followed the guide here (http://www.filesaveas.com/jarviser/repeaterhubswired.html) to set up the HH2 as a WAP.
I've successfully reset to HH2 back to the factory defaults, accessed the HH2 via the preset admin password, reset the admin password, renamed the SSID to a unique SSID, given the SSID a password, disabled DHCP, disabled the firewall, and reset the IP address to 192.168.1.175.
Currently I can locally browse to the HH2 web client and login at 192.168.1.175. I can also see the HH2 via wifi on my network. However, the issue is that when i attempt to connect to the HH2 via wifi it never manages to assign the device an IP address.
Anyone any ideas as to the problem / solution?

Go to Solution.I got the same problem at the weekend (albeit between two HH 2 type a routers) when the power line adapters weren't connecting to each other. If you have changed the DHCP settings in the "slave" router - the IP addresses will be allocated by the master router. If the slave cannot connect to the master then it can't assign an IP address.
Anyway that's what seemed to have happened to me - immediately the two routers were connected the IP addresses resolved immediately.
You may want to try resetting the powerline adapters and make sure they are connecting to each other (on the BT supplied adapters that means the top "data" light is displaying green on both adapters). I also found that sometimes after a disconnection or the master router being switched off, I had to restart the "slave" router after the master router was available again.

There free upgrade, is 36 dollars (they lie a lot lately)..(free upgrade fee???) then there's the required data plan for the free upgrade etc. do you want to use the phone for phone calls ?? there's a free fee for that too...

My company gave me a Verizon Smart phone (removed). this is primarily for work. there plan.
I've been told I can use it at will, but it's still not to me a personal line.
With at&t I have 3 lines shared minutes etc, and home internet though uverse (at&t)
So I have a mixed bag I'd like to clear up to one low easily managed service.
I'd rather not incur additional cost trying to switch out all the phones etc
Like to keep current phone numbers.
The home internet (uverse) double my rate last month (end of promo) to 42 a month. not happy about that and am canceling that asap and returning there modem. I don't need much more than reading e-mail and such for my desktop computer, and netbook I use at wifi when needed (free hotspots etc).
my wireless (cell phones) 3 lines 1400 minutes runs 130 a month. I'm not using that much anymore as the company phones picking up all the business calls now.. (they drop the cellular reimbursement money from my paycheck).
the 1400 plan I had unlimited email no data free friends family (a list) grandfathered.
One phone is a Pantech breeze III (p2030) (removed) (think it's locked)
#2 phone AT&T Z221 (removed) (think it's locked)
my phone #3 is a sony-ericsson C905 (unlocked) bit it's having problems (slider open disconnect calls sometimes and static. Ok using Bluetooth closed slider) (removed).
So let me know if you can come up with a way to save me time and of course money.
I personally think I could share data off my existing account for my desktop here, as I'm mainly interested in doing e-mail on my home computer.

trying to add HP Photosmart C4280 via airport express. "Add Printer" correctly finds printer as Bonjour kind but "add Printer" cannot find printer software from Apple (although it says that the software is available from Apple)

You are technically way ahead of me, so I can't argue with what you did.
How about an even simpler WiFi network consisting of only the AirPort connected by an Ethernet cable to the printer? If the iPad still can't find the printer when connected to this network, then something is broken!
(Also try a different Ethernet cable.)

I am trying to move my wife's iPhoto '08 library to my new iMac for iPhoto '11.
I am trying to move my wife's iPhoto (2007) library on a Macbook to my new iMac for iPhoto '11. First, when I opened iPhoto on the iMac it asked me to create a library, which I did. Then I imported her photos via a wireless network to my "new" library. However, when it finally finished importing, it had imported 3 copies of each photo from her library. I deleted the "new" library and started over.
Second, I opened iPhoto on the iMac and chose to use "other library." I chose my wife's shared iPhoto library and it began transferring the photos to the new iMac (or so I thought). This worked beautifully as it only brought over single photos and not 3 copies like discussed above. After editing the new library and adding some photos from an old PC, I shut down iPhoto. A few hours later I tried to open iPhoto on the iMac and it gave me the opening screen again with choices to create a new library or use a different library. As it turns out, my wife's Macbook and been disconneted from our wireless network. I was able to figure out that that unless my wife's Macbook is connected to the network then I cannot access the iPhoto library on my iMac. I was under the impression that I had copied her library to my computer and that the photo files were now on the hard drive of the iMac. So when her computer is offline I can no longer access the imported library. I want her library to stay on the iMac as we plan to sell her Macbook. As you now know, we cannot access her iPhoto library on the Macbook since she is running an older version of iPhoto.
So, what I would like to do is to completely transfer the photos from her Macbook to my new iMac and be able to access them on the iMac regardless of whether she is on the network or not because we plan to sell her Macbook to a friend. Thank you for any help you can provide.To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.
