HT1918 MY IPOD WAS STOLEN, WHAT CAN I DO?

stolen ipod touch, is there anything i have to do?

No. It can't be tracked unless you enabled Find my iPod. Go out and buy a new one, or don't.

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled). Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. Then contact the police, giving them any location information you get.
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Notify the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).
    Regards.

  • My ipod was stolen what can i do to get it back

My ipod was stolen out of my backpack and i want to see if i can get it back. What are some ways and how can i get a serial numbber off itunes

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod (Settings>iCloud) and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and and go to FIndMyiPhone. You can also wipe the device, and have it play a sound .If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - Apple will do nothing

The SN will only help idenify the iPod as yours if it is recovered.

    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police

  • My Iphone was stolen  - what can I doing? My Face Time is turn ON, maybe it's better? Can you help me ?

Hi! My iPhone was stolen - what can I doing? My Face Time is turn ON, maybe it's better? Who can you help me? Maybe you have an idea? Please - help me. Iphone was stolen in my office (it my client, but I do not know who).

The only way to track your phone is if you had find my iphone installed and activated, then you go to icloud.com log in and track your phone.
If you didn't set it up then there no way to track it.
Not sure what facetime has to do with your stolen phone.

For Find My Phone to work, you must first turn it on in Settings > iCloud before the iPhone is stolen, and the iPhone MUST be turned on and connected with the Internet.  If not, it is not possible to locate it.  Report the theft to the police, change all passwords associated with accounts on the iPhone, contact your carrier in case the can blacklist it.

  • My ipod was stolen, how can i track it without having to wait fo rthe serial number to come up

My ipod was stolen, how can i track it without have to wait for the serial number?

The serial number will not help you track it at all.
IF you set up fond my ipod on the ipod itself BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND it has not been restored by the thief, tehn you may be able to get an approx street address from icloud/find my ipod.
Otherwise, there is no way to track it at all.

  • Ipod got stolen what can i do

My ipod got stolen.  Can I do anything to make it unusable?

If you enabled Find my iPod, you can open the Find my iPhone app on another iOS device, or go to http://icloud.com on a computer. Sign in, and then you can remote lock it. This will take effect when the iPod comes online. If the iPod is running iOS 7 and you enabled Find my iPod, it is also protected by Activation Lock, which will prevent anyone from restorign or activating your iPod without your Apple ID and password.

  • My ipod was stolen. Can i find with the GPS? If not is there any other way?

My ipod touch was stolen out of my locker.  I have all things to prove its my ipod touch. (original box & serial number)  I was hoping that it could be tracked by the GPS or some other method.  I hope so because I do not have money to buy another one.  Plus it was a gift from someone special so i would like to get this back.  If you have any other methods please let me know.  Thank you so much!

You could find it, if you did install "Find my phone" before it was stolen. But you would have to own a ipod touch 4G, an iphone4 or an ipad to install it. See this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436

  • IPod Touch stolen: What can I do????

    Can anybody help me,please!!!!!
Last week I lost my Ipod Touch 32 GB in the school, so I tried everything to get him back...
I promised a reward about 50€ for the finder, but that did not change anything...
So knows anybody a better way to get the IPod back, because I think, that 250€ are too much money, to give them simply away...
    Thank you very much,
    greatkarli

Sorry, but unless you had the Find My iPod service, available as part of a MobileMe subscription, set up so that you could attempt to locate your iPod, there's nothing much you can do. There's no way to trace a device, so if a reward didn't do the trick (not surprising, since unless the iPod was found by someone honest, the finder could get a lot more than 50€ for it), you're probably just out of luck. Notify your local police and any lost-and-found departments in the area where you lost it, if you haven't already, and hope for the best. But you should resign yourself to the fact that it's almost certainly gone for good.
    Regards.
