HT1918 my itunes account has the right email address but my phone does not how do i fix this

how do i reset the email address on my iphone for my itunes account

If you updated your existing iTunes account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it.

  • HT5621 I changed my AppleID, but iCloud still has the old email address on my phone. How do I change that?

I changed my AppleID, but iCloud still has the old email address on my phone. How do I change that? It keeps asking me to input my password, but obviously that won't work because the ID is wrong not the password.

Then change your Apple ID back to the old ID, then delete the account. Once done, change your ID to your new one.

I have a 2008 vintage iMac with 2.8GHz processor and recently upgraded to  OS X 10.9.5.  Soon after theupgrade the mail system started switching the senders address to another address, but same user name.  How do you fix this?

Thanks for the reply,.  I went to the site provided and executed the directions but this did not solve the issue.
    Even more details:
If I send a message to the Jane Doe address from another account on this machine (all my family uses the same email services provider and each have accounts set up on this machine), when you open it, it shows Jane Doe then the <applejax.xx> address AND the picture associated with the Apple Jax account.
So the problem shows up when the message is sent to this account from this machine, AND when it is sent from this machine from this account.  No other accounts on the machine are effected.
I have sent and received email messages from the mail service provider's website, and everything is fine.

  • How do I create two iTunes accounts under the same email address?

I've got my account duplicated -and charged for apps I already own- by using my email address as login instead of apple ID, but I've been told it's my fault so…
    I'm trying to figure out
*How do I do to create two iTunes accounts under the same email and having different IDs?*
I mean, two accounts with different purchase history. It doesn't matter if billing address, or credit card are the same (or different) because none of them flag apps as "purchased"
I tried today from iTunes, but it tells me the email is taken.
Do you know any way a user can do it from our end? (website, iTunes, iPhone)
If you've got charged by apps twice, please don't say it here. I don't want my post being deleted again. Thanks.

    Beavis2084:
Expired .mac accounts HAVE NO EMAIL. You own the id (which iTunes requests to be spelled in form of an email)
Also, FREE .mac accounts have no email either.
What you see in the screenshots is what I'm saying:
There's been a change in the way iTunes wants you to login. The iTunes reps see at their end what you see at the top of the window, which probably is the "migration" of the new login: Old login system, using ID (in form of email for iTunes)
BELOW you clearly see where says "ID" and both have the email as login.
(again, that .mac email doesn't exist and NEVER DID)
That's the NEW login: your EMAIL.
I'm sorry I didn't explain it better the first time. I wrote about this so many times to iTunes support reps to prevent them to "read" what their system says that I gave it for settled. (not to mention that my first post was removed because "it lacks of interest for others"
I own an apple ID, given away with the purchase of a new computer (nothing small by the way) and when that happens (and never subscribe for a paid membership), you use ANOTHER email to be related to your account.
Now that AGAIN apple asks you for using your EMAIL (non-apple in our case) instead of your ID (which you can't use or you will never get a notification again!) the system believes there are two accounts.
It's like your credit card bank changing the address for sending the payments. You are STILL paying, but getting a higher rate because their CHANGED the address and the check never arrives.
In this case, signing in with a different string, makes the system believe there are two accounts. And that probably is under the policy which probably states purchases are not charged twice for SAME ID, and SAME iPhone… and you used a different ID, so it must be fair (sarcasm). Who told you to do so? Bad boy!

  • How can I change my email address on my Itunes account if the old email address has been closed down?

Hi, my brother is struggling to log in to his itunes account. He has been using an old email address but not actually logged into his email account for quite a while. All of a sudden he hasn't been able to sign in to itunes. He has been trying to change over the email address but it looks like the old email address account has been deleted. Any ideas he can go around this to change it over?

    Hello amy_c22,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From what I understand is that your brother no longer has access to the email being used for the Apple ID.  He will be able to change his Apple ID if you follow the instructions in the article below:

  • I'm not receiving the AppleId email when I hit Forgot my password, how do I fix this?

I can’t recall my password for a different iTunes Id and I’ve went to AppleId.apple.com, pressed the ‘forgot your password’ button, it brought me to a new page with my email, I’ve made sure that I was my email, I hit Email authentication, and then it brings me to a page that says: “ Email has been sent”, but I’m not receiving any email in my Gmail account. I’ve made sure that I have no filters for Apple or iTunes and checked my Spam, and Trash folders and I see nothing.

    Hi CoalBeans,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The resource below explains what to do if you do not receive the verification email for your Apple ID.
If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201455
When you make certain updates to your Apple ID, we’ll send you an email to help you complete the update. For example, you might have reset your password, reset your security questions, or added a new email address to your account. If you can't find the email after we send it, these steps can help.
    Search for the email
We'll send the email from "Apple," so you can quickly search for it. If it isn't in your inbox, check your folders. If a spam filter or email rule moved the email, it might be in the Spam, Junk, Trash, Deleted Items, or Archive folder.
Make sure you're checking the correct email account
If you're looking for a password reset email, make sure you're checking the correct email inbox. It will either be your primary Apple ID email address or a separate rescue email address that you added to your account.
If you're looking for a verification email, you can sign in to My Apple ID and review all the email addresses you have on file, including the one that you're trying to verify. If the email address is incorrect, you can update it and send another verification email.
    Resend the email
To resend a reset email, repeat the steps to reset your password or security questions, and we'll send an email to your rescue or primary Apple ID email address.
To resend the verification email, go to My Apple ID, select Manage your Apple ID, then sign in. Click Resend next to the email address that you want to verify, and we'll send an email to that address.
Make sure that you're getting email
If you're not getting any email, you might need to contact your email service provider for help. You can also use these steps to get help receiving email at OS X Mail or an iCloud email address.
    Contact us
Go to System Status and see if Apple ID is available. If you still can't find the reset email or verification email, contact Apple Support.

  • My itune account has a different email than my apple id how do i fix it? someone has my old email and is receiving my itunes and some old emails

My itune account has a different email than my apple id and someone has the old email address associated with my itunes so she receives lots of my information.  How do I fix this I already tried to change my itunes to my new email associated with my apple id and it states the address I entered is already associated with an apple id.

You can change the primary email address on it to be another email address (if you don't have another account then you could create one via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com). You can't delete an account, you can only remove personal info from it (e.g. credit card details if you have on it) and stop using it - but any items (apps, music etc) that were downloaded on the account will remain tied to it, so only that account will be able to authorise that content on a new computer, potentially redownload its purchases, and download updates to its apps

Several years ago I had an itunes account through my work email address. I have since let the company but when I tried to access the songs I'd already purchased, my password would not work because that account no longer existed. I ended up having to open another account but how can I access that account to retrieve my other songs? I realize I can't transfer between accounts but maybe at least burn to CD?

    Hello, RSchultz13.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can reset your Apple ID password via the steps in the first article below.  I would try the option to answer your security questions.  If those steps do not work then you may need to reach out to our account security team to reset this old Apple ID password.  Once this is done you should be able to access your old DRM protected purchases.

  • Trying to erase settings from my old iphone but when I have to enter my itunes ID password the old email address is displayed.  How can I change this to my existing itunes account so I can reset this phone?  Thank you.

Trying to erase settings from my old iphone but when I have to enter my itunes ID password the old email address is displayed.  How can I change this to my existing itunes account so I can reset this phone?  Thanks in advance.

I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question.  Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing.  I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE"  in my iphone 4s.  They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes.  I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes:  Music, Movies, TV shows, books.  That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS"  but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone.  Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this.  I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

  • HOW TO?: Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?

Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?

Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account.  For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).

  • Someone has the same email address as me!

I know this shouldn't be possible but it's happening!  I have an apple email address [email protected] and as I understand it that automatically gives me [email protected] too.  I don't ever use the icloud domain but I have tested it and if I send an email to [email protected] I receive the email.
A month or so ago I received a load of emails, receipt etc. for a purchase that had been made on a website, registered to the email address [email protected]  I presumed someone must have entered the wrong email address and so contacted the website owner and said I'd been sent these emails in error.  They contacted the person and came back to me saying that they had said the email address was correct.  I asked them to contact them again (they are in Australia, I'm in the UK) and explain what was happening, double check the email address and ask if they had been receiving my emails.  The response was that the email address was definitely correct, they didn't use it very often and no, they hadn't been receiving my emails.  They couldn't help me any more and so I thought maybe they hadn't realised they'd made an error with the email address. I emailed them on [email protected] but I heard nothing more.
Now the same thing has happened with another website.  Whoever is using this email address has subscribed to a website, paid a fee for membership and I received all the emails, a receipt, documents that came with the purchase and also a login username and password.  I logged into the site, it worked. Unfortunately there was no area where I could leave a message.  Once again I have emailed them on [email protected]  I have also searched for the person on Facebook using [email protected] and if I've found the right person they are only a young teenage girl.  Again I have emailed them on [email protected] and asked them to contact me on another email address.  I have heard nothing so I don't know if they received the email... I received it though!
I don't know how 2 people can be allocated the same email address but what is really worrying me is that if I am receiving emails intended for someone else are they receiving my emails?!!!  That would really be a security problem as my email address is registered to lots of websites, my utilities etc.
Can anyone shed any light on how this can happen?  I have put a telephone support request into Apple but the earliest was in 2 days.

    kimallen40 wrote:
The websites that she has signed up to I have logged in and there is no message asking for email verification which suggests she is receiving emails.
If they could sign in using an email address that isn't verified then all the website owner has is her word that she is receiving their emails.  Besides, if there had been a verification email for these sites, you would have seen it too; which suggests that there wasn't.
Once you get the password changed they will not be able to receive any email from the account, even if they do now.  That may not be the end of the problem, however, as there would still be nothing to prevent them from continuing to use the address to sign up on websites that don't verify the address.  If it persists, you may have to either create a new iCloud account in order to get a new email address, or create an alias address to use within the existing iCloud account and stop using your main address for email.  Then you can set up an email rule on icloud.com that sends email from the main addres to the trash where it is deleted 30 days later.  This explains how to create an alias address: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.  This explains how to set up an email rule: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a.  Good luck.

If you need assistance with finding any of your restores or attempting to restore from any that happened prior to his incident follow this article
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
IF you do find a backup that has your contacts; I'd /highly/ recommand turning off your wifi network after the restore is finished because if the issue is with your iCloud your contacts may merge back with her's.
With iCloud you DO NOT want to share the account; bad things happen Evil evil thigns...
But in all seriousness; if two devices have the same iCloud; iCloud is told to merge and sync infomation between hte two and can't tell that it doesn't belong to the same person

  • I accidentally created an iCloud account using the wrong email address for my username - I already have an iCloud account with a different email address username. Is there any way I can merge these accounts?

I just upgraded my MacBook from OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion so that I could stream from my other devices (iPhone and iPad) to my MacBook.  After making it through the upgrade process, I realized that I used the wrong email address for my iCloud username when starting up on the MacBook.  My iPhone, iPad, and iTunes are under my Hotmail email address and I accidently used my Gmail email address for the MacBook.  Is there any way I can merge these two icloud accounts together? I tried changing my account information to add the other email address, but wasn't allowed because another account was using the name (duh).  If I can't merge them, how could I change the MacBook from the Gmail address to the Hotmail address so that all my devices are on the same icloud account?  It'd be nice if I could keep the free 5GB of storage that comes with my purchase of the software, but I'd rather lose the storage than not be able to stream.

To change accounts on your Mac, go to System Preferences, sign out of the current account, then sign into the new account.  When you sign out of the current account it will delete synced data from your Mac.  Assuming your data (such as contacts, calendars, etc.) is in the other iCloud account, it will be synced to your Mac when you sign into this account.

I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.
