HT1918 My payment method's being rejected by iTunes.

My iTunes no longer accepts my card as payment, I tried re-inputting the card details but it has repeatedly told me the payment method isn't valid. My account has money in it and the card works in shops, at cash points and on websites etc. Why has it suddenly stopped accepting my card out of nowhere and is there anyway of getting it working again please?

Make sure the information on your account is the same with your bank. I'd also suggest calling the bank and inquire if there are issues with your account. You can also contact support and have your account checked.

    What happens when you try to change it, and if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
    On you iPad you should be able to change it by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tapping on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and logging into your account  - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Changing payment info : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1918

    Yup, I'm a Kiwi, living in sunny Blenheim. Just seems odd that I can use Amex for purchasing in the Apple store but not in the iTunes store. Perhaps the higher charge set by Amex is not  economic for small purchases? Anyway,
    I know now what to do now - buy an iTunes gift card and enter the activation code to redeem and sign up. Sorted! Thanks Kappy for taking an interest in my query.

    What are you trying to use as your payment method, credit card, debit card ... ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method in all countries - from this page :
    You may be able to use other payment types in your country, like debit and Maestro cards.
    which implies that they are not accepted in all countries, and there have been a number of posts about them being declined.
    For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined (but you might not be able to use a debit card) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management

    What *Store*? iTunes? iTunes App Store? Apple Store Online?
    Did it suddenly STOP accepting the method?

    i am tring to change my apple payment method so that i do not need a credit card. an option for payment is usually "none" so i can only use itunes cards to make purchases. for some reason this is not an option. i have seen it on other iphones. my software is up to date. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

    We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
    On your computer's iTunes you can log into your account via the Store > View Account menu option, or via the Account link under the Quicklinks section on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage - you should get a payment details link on your account's details page.

  • Podcast feed being rejected by iTunes, with no explanation

    I've tested my feed numerous times, but whenever it is submitted to iTunes it comes back rejected due to 'technicaly reasons'. I want to e-mail them about this but there is no contact address in the message, how am I supposed to fix the problem if they are so vague in the e-mail!
    Anyway, does anyone have ANY idea why my feed is being rejected, it is really starting to infuriate me. Someone on another forum mentioned that as my show contains music that iTunes get paranoid and will reject it for copyright reasons, except, I've received permission from all the artists involved to use the music, so there is no issue with copyright.

    i have also ran into this issue. when signing up, it says enter cc info and then u can edit account and choose "none" for payment option....but it wont let u save without entering cc #, etc. Nowhere could i find a "none" option.
