HT1918 Security Code Problems

Why would my credit card security code all of a sudden become "invalid?"  This is the same card I've used for 2 years.

This message is a catch-all for any billing anomaly.
Be sure you are using a valid credit (not debit) card.

Click the Edit Payment Information button.
In the Payment Method section, choose None.

HOW TO FIX "INVALID SECURITY CODE" PROBLEM:
Since apple's "customer support" consists of a whole bunch of ******** derelicts who blame you or your credit card company for this message, I had to take it upon myself to figure out a way around the problem.  All you have to do is change your billing information in iTunes from your credit card to PayPal.
I was getting this same ridiculous "invalid security code" message when I knew I had entered it correctly!
It's funny, because PayPal recognized it as a valid account and security code, and now all my apps finally work again.
    Open iTunes
    Go to the Store
On the right, click on "Account"
Next to "Payment Type", click "Edit"
Click the PayPal logo and either enter your existing PayPal account info or create a new one (as I did)
I'm not a fan of PayPal, therefore I never had one.  I created one really quickly and even used the same account that mysteriously stopped working.  (AND WITH NO PROBLEMS... THANKS, APPLE)
I really hope this helps anyone with this same problem as it is really frustrating when somebody **cough cough apple** tells you that you're doing something wrong when you know you're not, and takes no liability whatsoever when the error is on their behalf.

  • Invalid Security Code problem...

Ok, this is now a real problem. I'm trying to change the credit card in my Itunes account. I'd like to buy a few things, which I haven't done in a while.
I enter in the new card, and walla, it pops up with "Invalid Security Code". Except I know the code is valid, and having just purchased a song at Amazon to test, I know the card is activated and good.
So, what's the deal? Argh! So frustrating that I can't get this card to enter!!

They will have no choice BUT to lose customers. If people can't pay for anything, how will Apple make any money?
I'm having the same problem too. I've tried 3 different credit cards, 2 different computers, an iPhone, an iPad, and the exact same thing. From what I've been reading, this is a problem that has been going on for a looong time. I'm surprised they haven't fixed it yet.
I've sent an email and received no response. I called support and was on hold forever. I gave up waiting and hung up.
I've changed my information in the Apple Store page. Credit Card verified there with no problem. Changed my info in my .me page. Credit Card verified there, too.
    Same info. Same billing address.
I guess I'll just have to return my iPad and demand a full refund, because it's completely unusable now.
    Thanks for nothing, Apple!

  • HT3702 How do you contact iTunes to recover money they charged my bank account with out my authorization. Invalid security code problem. Could not fix card issue.Changed bank card information and I got charged for tiny zoo bucks $24.99. I Got no zoo bucks

Changed bank card. Got charged $24.99 from iTunes  for a prior  purchase  that would not go thru due to invalid security code. When put new information on iTunes payment . iTunes charged my account without me confirming order and I didn't even receive the zoo buck 50% sale special. They just took my money . Now I can't connect to iTunes Store because they are fixing problems. What can I do to get my money . Can't even reach tiny zoo who gets the money. iTunes should of sent a confirmation request when new card was submitted before taking money.

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.
Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple?

  • Security code problems. help!!!

Everytime I try to update and app or get a new free one, iTunes asked me to sign in to update my billing information, and it's telling me that the security code I have entered is an invalid code. I've entered the 3 digit number on the back of my credit card many times and it's still showing as invalid, my credit card doesnt expire until 2015 and has money on it, I just dont know how to fix this problem!!

Any error or inconsistency in your address will trigger the wrong security code message.  See this article for some fixes:  Tunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646

In Itunes i'm unable to update my credit card info. It won't take the security code, but it did before. It also isn't accepting cards at this time.

the security code error is actually generic and just means the card is being rejected, double check your billing info to make sure it matches the card exactly or contact the card issuer to make sure they arent blocking it because of a fraud filter or something similar
