After i click download a paid app it says i hav to answer security questions that i forgot how can i fix this?

I'm in the same boat as you! I don't need to reset my password, I just need to know my security questions' answers so I can buy music on iTunes. I went to appleid.apple.com and clickded on 'Password and Security," tried my answers, and I kept clicking to receive the email and it never sent! I kept trying and trying, but now all it says is: "
Exceeded Maximum Attempts
We apologize, but we were unable to verify your account information with the answers you provided to our security questions.
You have made too many attempts to answer these questions. So, for security reasons, you will not be able to reset password for the next eight hours.
We can help you reset your security information by sending a message to your rescue email address"
Now, my account is locked for 8 hours and I still do not have an email. I receive all my other emails from Apple just fine, but for some reason it's not working. I'm extremely upset that this has happened. If it doesn't send me an email, how am I suppose to reset my security information & buy things off iTunes? Closing my account is not an option because I had just put some giftcards onto it... PLEASE, help!

    I recently update my iPod touch 4g to the latest IOS 6 ... And since then I got lot of issues, starting of with the fact that iTunes store change lenguage again by itself, also the app store change the lenguage, which I set in English (I live in Tokyo Japan.. but Iset my app store and itunes store in english)... so since the app store change itself, I'm continuosly asked for an apple ID security thing... (I research a bit online and turns out to be that they are asking me for 3 security questions) and due all the app store is in japanese I can't set anything.... and also I can't download anything, since I don't provide to Apple ID the questions...I don't know if someone else is having this same issue... but I will appreciate your help, please

  • Can't reset my password thanks to slow email and security questions issues.

    I'm trying to reset my password on my Iphone so I can update my device and apps, but I forgot my password. So I decided to reset, using my username, but I never recieved an email to do so. I tried the security questions, and everytime I try to enter my birthday, the site keeps reseting me back to selecting my brithday. So in a way, there is no way I can reset my password? How do I fix this issue?

    Although your logic escapes me. YOU made several mistakes, including your security questions, not having a rescue email address, and having a weak password that someone guessed. And you expect Apple to bail you out of the predicament that YOU created instantly. They probably will, but it isn't something that you should expect.

  • HT1918 security question email is incorrect

    I tunes would not let me purchase until I answered security questions that I am sure I never set up therefore I don't know the answers.  The sec. question recovery email listed is not correct and I am also sure I never entered that email.  I cannot get support online from Apple and will have to pay $20 to get any help by phone.  Anyone have this issue?

  • After 3 years, I got a new iphone5 and ran into the security question issue. Because of the questions apple chose, I have no idea what the answers are. I did the iTunes email thing and waited 36 hours for a response. I

    After waiting the 36 hours, I received an email advising me. To contact a phone support number. After waiting 15 minutes on hold, the helpful person asked me for the answers to the security questions and said that answering them was the only way to reset the questions. I said, WHAT? You don't see any cyclic logic there? Apple (the inovator!) has not foreseen this? I was livid. I was advised I could leave a comment on Apple.com. I think I'll leave my comment on every Apple contract that crosses my desk. I'm IT Systems at a large US university. If anyone from Apple wishes to address this, PM me.

    Thanks! I'm a little leery of attaching a credit card to itunes again because of all the apple database jacking in the past. I had a bunch of unauthorized purchases charged to my account for devices that I never owned. Took me weeks to replace the credit card even though it was never compromised but apple was impotent to fix the issue. On this issue, I finally got the working key to the system. Even though there are BAZILLIONS of ways to verify a person's identity via two forms, using the security questions forgotten as one of them seems to be circular (failed) logic. Seriously, it's like requiring someone's password to reset a forgotten password. My take on the issue fixed by this workflow, that I noticed from the 3 sets of calls and 20 minute wait on each is this.... iTunes was racked by all the fraudulent purchases I (and thousands of others) experienced and people (like me) had to go through all the credit card issues because Apple "would not" fix the issues in iTunes and pursue the fraudulent purchasers (even though Apple had the device IDs!). So we ripped out our credit card info in iTunes. On this security question reset issue, if they can require people to re-enter their credit card info under the guise of "identification ...because your security is so important!) and then take 60 minutes to create a high intensity customer interaction, there is a high probability that the average customer will temporarily forget all about removing their credit card info. It's actually brilliant! ...but very underhanded.... but also very Apple. I don't expect this reply to have a long life-span, but thanks for your response. If I can log into iTunes, I can add any credit card. therefore IF I CAN LOG INTO ITUNES APPLE HAS THE SECOND METHOD ALREADY!  Thanks.

    Im soo sad and angry from apple support ..
    i have thisproblem since 4 months now and the support wont solve it ..
    i got ipad 3 few months ago .. when i try to purches new apps for it the account ask me to answer the seucrity questions , even the answers are right it says it wrong !!! but when i purches and app with my old ipad or macbook pro its fine...
    now i got macbook air and the problem become bigger to me .. i dont want to purchas in my old devies and go back to the new once to download them !!!
    yaa , when i try to change the security question !! i couldnt find the option !!

    My daughter has topped up her iTunes account with vouchers for Xmas, she has gone to use them and it has asked for her security questions. This is where the problems starts, she has forgotten the answers!
    After a few tantrums from her.... and me I don't know what to do and the instructions on her are too clear.

    Go to: Apple Express Lane;
    Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
    Then choose iTunes Store;
    Then choose Account Management;
    Press Continue;
    Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click Continue;
    Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
    Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would like your security/challenge questions reset;

    If you can't remember them then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
    Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
    Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
    You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox)

    I'm purchasing an app onto my macbook pro for the very first time, so apple asked me to fill in my security question for verification. I have entered all the question correctly yet the system say that I have entered an incorrect answer.     Contact Apple through iTunes Store Support, and explain that you have forgotten your 3 security questions, that you can reset your password, but doing so doesn't reset your security questions.
    Explain that after resetting your password, you are still asked for the answers you have forgotten, before you can gain access to My Apple ID > Manage your account > Password & security, which is where you need to be to change your answers.
    Remember, support will receive hundreds, if not thousands of requests per day, some from people trying it on, others with little explanation and others that are written extremely poorly. Take the time to explain your situation properly, be precise and concise, brief but comprehensive.
