Are you in the US with a US billing address and iTunes account ? All iTunes gift cards are country-specific, they can only be redeemed and used in the country in which they were issued, so US gift cards can only be used in the US.

  • HT1688 I used a MC $50 Giftcard for the iTunes one day. It was supposed to update the games, and other apps on my phone. Only, it wouldn't go through, the credit card was declined. Still, I was charged 4 times. How do I get this back??

    I bought a Mastercard Giftcard for $50 the other day. It was only because the games needed updating before I could play them again, and my card on file had expired.
    I kept getting a message stating the the card was declined. Also, it kept telling me to try to put in another card, or different form of payment.
    I tried several times to get the MC to go through, and it didn't. It was not even showing that the card info even updated!
    When I went to check the amount of the giftcard, there were 4 pending charges of $10.89 on it.
    How do I get this money back? Please let me know as soon as possible.

    I did but that was from a month before, I want pics I took after that backup time. It deleted without my consent like this is not cool. I had recent pics from my trip.

    I can't update or download any more games because I keep getting this message to update my payment info. I bought a game about a month ago and ever since I haven't been able to download anything or make updates.     The credit card used is that registered in the iTunes Store. Open the Store and go to your account. Click 'edit' next to 'payment details' and amend the card details if necessary.

    Is the credit card registered to exactly the same name and address (format and spacing) as you have on your iTunes account ?   • HT1918 Why can i not now update apps which I have already paid for because my credit card was declined?

    My credit card was rejected but now I can't even use the apps I have already paid for. *** iTunes! I can't delete the card and use another payment method can't do anything. Is there a way around this? Or just another case of apple rear ending us hard?

    We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
    If you have a credit card on your account then it will need to be valid. If you don't have a card to replace it with then have you tried removing it from your account ? On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.

  • ITunes App Store won't let me buy anything. Keeps saying the credit card info is wrong. BUT IT'S NOT. This has been going on for weeks, I can't even find the effing button to contact Apple. Jesus Christ.

    I can't buy or download anything. It keeps whining that the data is wrong, both on iPhone and iPad. It's the right info but it keeps whining about "payment method declined" or something? I dunno, some say it fixes itself after a few days. But it's been like this for a few weeks now. :/

    apple should really make that clear, thats the reason i bought the points for in the first place, to get apps and the update. man this *****, ok so pretty much if i don't have a credit card then im screwed right? i can't get the update or get apps unless they are free? are there app cards or something i can buy in order to buy them? kuz i can't get a credit card and i want to get this stuff, and if im not mistaken isn't this bad? its stopping ppl from spending money on this stuff, its cutting profit, if you could use it for all of it then im sure ppl would buy them alot more, kuz its "re-donk-u-less" that they don't have an easier way to get the stuff like apps and upgrades unless you hav a credit card. idk man, is apple going to change that anytimes soon?

    I'm trying to set up a new itunes account for first time on my new ipad. I've tried multiple debit cards and keep getting an invalid security code error message that will not let me finish setting up the account. Has anyone experienced this and know how to resolve it?

    Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
    If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.

    I recently got notification that I have 4 app updates but when I try to update it says to verify my credit card information which I do but says it comes back as declined. Why would it try to pull funds for free app updates?

    If you're positive the information is correct, ask the issuing bank why the transaction is being rejected.
    You're getting this error because the store can not authorize the card with your bank.
