I am using an older windows computer with Windows XP and iTunes 11.0.5.5. Since upgrading my iPhone and iPad my system will not allow me to connect the devices to my iTunes -- it notes I need to upgrade to iTunes 11.5. However using automatic updates or manual update I can not update iTunes -- I get an error message the older windows iTunes could not be removed. I can not remove iTunes using control panel -- an older install/uninstall file is evidently missing. All of my music is contained on my PC -- more music is on my PC than I store on my other devices and I don't want to loose those music files nor permission to access those music files. Does anyone have a solution to uninstalling and upgrading windows iTunes without losing my music. I would like to be able to connect my iPhone and iPad to my PC again. RS

When uninstalling iTunes on your windows computer, there is a specific way it must be done in order to completely uninstall all components of the software. Ensure you follow the article for your correct OS.

You may delete Numbers 08 if you wish, but some folks like keeping it around. Close all your Numbers docs and Quit the Numbers app, and the other Numbers app if necessary.Then click the Numbers icon on your doc. Then select Numbers > About Numbers, and in the window that pops up, see which version it is. If the Dock icon started Numbers 08, you can cure that by dragging that icon off the Dock and letting it go in a puff of virtual smoke.
Now, to put the Numbers 09 icon on the Dock, double-click one of those known Numbers 09 documents so that Numbers 09 starts up. Verify by checkig Numbers > about Numbers.
Now click and hold the Numbers Dock icon and select the Option for Keep in Dock.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Numbers keeps saying i need the newer version to open existing files- but it is the updated version

I updated Pages and Numbers about 4/5 months ago and have done the updates but when I try to open my documents (ones I just created last week) I get a message saying I need the updated versio of Numbers in order to open it.
Anyone?

You are accidentally launching the previous version of Number while trying to open a file created (or saved with) the newer version.
The Previous version is located in the folder "/Applications/iwork '09"
The new version is located in the folder "/Applications"
I keep both in my dock so I can tell them apart:
Version Version

Why does Firefox upgrade version 3.6.13 state that it works with all current addons, it will not work with Roboform!

Back on Dec 23 I ask if it was possible, after upgrading to version 3.6.13, could I go back to the version I had been using. A very helpful person, "Buddahfan", instructed me how to accomplish this. I have downloaded version 3.5.16, as this is what I think I had before. Anyway, my reason for not wanting 3.6.13 is it will not accept a VERY helpful add-on I have come to use daily, Roboform. Problem is the advertisement for the new version states it will work with all add-ons and it obviously does not. What benefits am I losing by sticking with 3.5.16 after I have downloaded all updates?

All you needed to do for 3.6.13 was to install the latest Roboform adapter for Firefox from here: <br />

Is it possible that you are not seeing the thirteenth song because you did not scroll all the way down within the playlist?

Not for free, no. Well I guess there is. Don't sync your phone. We don't, but then we only use it for talking and taking photos which you can transfer using even a pretty old computer.

My operating system will not boot up and I have a black screen

My laptop just went black as if it was in stnd by mode yet now will not boot up. It gets to the wirl of the fans and the cd drive turning but that is it. I understand that your display just went black. If you restart the display remains black with a blinking cursor, but with no error messages. You do hear the fan and hard drive spin up.

ITunes podcast preview page will not link with itunes store in windows

My external url still connects correctly with the itunes preview page and opens the iTune's store in iTunes (versions 9 & 10) on my Mac but when I check the link on a windows vista pc, since the latest version of iTunes was made available, I cannot get beyond the preview page as iTunes is not recognised despite clicking on the 'already' installed link on the page.
Anyone having this problem since iTunes v10 was made available? I've tried it with the full url and the shortened url with the same results.

The recommended steps are:
1) Sign out of the iTunes Store by choosing Sign Out from the Store menu in iTunes.
2) Visit the My Apple ID website at:
http://appleid.apple.com
3) If the site is not displayed in your preferred language, click the Change Language link in the upper-right corner, type the name of your language in the field that appears, then click the Save button.
4) Click the "Manage your account" link.
5) Type your iTunes Store account name (which is your Apple ID) in the Apple ID field, type your password in the password field, then click the Sign In button.
6) Click "Addresses" in the column on the left. Look at your shipping addresses at the bottom. If you have multiple shipping addresses, remove any out-of-date or duplicate addresses by clicking Delete. Also, make sure the state or province field is filled out correctly for each address. To edit an address, click Edit.
7) Now click "Phone Numbers" on the left. The area codes should be in the area code fields and the phone numbers should be in the phone number fields. If an area code is missing, or if it is in a phone number field, your account information may not save properly.
8) Make any other necessary corrections, then click the Save Changes button.
9) Click Log out in the upper-right corner.
