HT1926 apple mobile device failed to start
When trying to update my iTunes with the latest update I am now recieving several error messages. While installing iTunes this message appears "Service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to start system services". Retry does the same thing. When you choose ignore, it finishes the install, then opens but another error pops up "was not installed correctly. please reinstall Error 7(Windows error 126)". As well as "MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer"
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall itunes several times.
I have also tried to start the services of the Apple Moble Device then i get "windows could not start the Apple Mobile Device service on Local computer. Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

I am trying to install itunes as i had to uninstall the software. and now when i try to reinstall it i keep getting this message. I dont understand why? or how to fix it. It shouldnt be this difficult to install a program. All this just because of some upgrade that wouldnt install and messed up itunes and made it invalid to even open.
Hey AndreaKK,
I would try the following directions:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
If you have Windows XP, there are slightly different directions in here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

HT1926 service'apple mobile device'(apple mobile device)failed to start
service'apple mobile device'(apple mobile device)failed to start.verify that you have sufficient privlages to start system services...
The frequently suggested repair steps listed in comments at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926 did not work for me yesterday when I attempted for an entire day to fix this commonly reported problem with the newest iTunes update. I now realize that I overlooked one step listed in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
My computer has a Windows 64 bit operating system. I should have paid attention to this instruction:
"If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\ "
Tonight, I removed those previous version files from the Program Files (x86) directory and executed the rest of the steps listed. Success resulted. If you are struggling like I did to install the iTunes newest update on a Windows 64 bit operating system, you might benefit to recheck that you followed the instruction listed above. -
I was prompted to update itunes this evening. I did and in the process, it came up with the following error message: Service "apple mobile device" (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify you have sufficient priviledges to start system services. I unistalled itunes completly and reinstalled but am still getting the same error message. If I click "ignore" the program will finish downloading but will not launch due to "not being installed correctly". Please help, I use this program alot with my first grade classroom and they're expecting their listening center in the morning.

HT1926 Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start
Hello, I tried to update my iTunes and was given an error message that something was missing. So I have uninstalled my iTunes and now when I try to reinstall it I am getting this message:
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to start system services.
It then gives me the option to Abort, Retry, or Ignore. Nothing happens when I Retry. When I Ignore it says: iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
I have run out of ideas on what else to try. Please help!Hey kamealeilani!
You may want to try completely uninstalling iTunes and then re-downloading the program:

I was getting an update and it would not load so I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Now when it reinstalls it gets to the end and it comes up with the following error message.
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
This is on my desktop that I have had for a number of years that has had itunes for a number of years. I have an two ipods and an ipad associated with the itunes account. Now I can not get it to go past this message.Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Normal update of iTunes to 11.1.4 fails. Suggests installing from web site
I install from iTunes.com. Install issues the messages:
Service "Apple Mobile Device' failed to start.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services
I do have necessary privilegs. I hit ignore. See window with successful install come up and finish with launch. I get the messages:
iTunes was not installed correctly.
Please reinstall iTunes
Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Tring to start iTunes from desktop gives:
This application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found
Re-installing the application may fix the problem.
Further repair or remove/reinstall does not fix the problem (including after reboot)
Thie is the first time this has happened. I'm not sure where to go from here
Thanks for any help.Earlier suggestion worked. That is, Use software add/remove to delete all 5 iTunes applications:
Apple Application Support
Apple Mobile Device Support
Aple Sortware Update
Bonjour
iTunes
Reboot and install/ -

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.
