Tried to upgrading ipad 1 from itunes and l guess it did not complete the process because all I have showing on the ipad is the itunes logo with the usb cable. When l try to connect it to my system, it resquest that a driver be used to install the device. Please help! How do I restore?
Restoration is relatively simplistic. Here's whatcha do. Plug your ipad in, open itunes, now if itunes doesn't recognize it then you may have a problem, anywho, click on the ipad in the devices interface and go to the info tab, click restore, and it'll be just like it was when it left the factory. To get you data back, it should ask if you would like to use a backup, just select the backup you want and you'll be good to go. That is if you regularly backed up your iPad.

Follow Microsoft instructions below on how to take control of the Folder. You may apply this on your C:\Program Files(x86)\iTunes

Right click on file or folder and select “Properties” from Context Menu

Now click on Owner tab in Advance Security Settings for User windows
Click on Edit Button and select user from given Change Owner to list if user or group is not in given list then, click on other users or groups. Enter name of user/group and click ok.
Now select User/group and click apply and ok. (Check “Replace owner on sub containers and objects” if you have files and folder within selected folder)
Click ok when Windows Security Prompt is displayed
Now Owner name must have changed.
Now click Ok to exist from Properties windows
Once you have taken the ownership of file or folder

I purchased a book in advance. It is now in my library, but the word "paused" appears across the book and I cannot access. I assume the download did not complete, but I cannot seem to fix it. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping upward on the app window (not the smaller icon) off the screen.
Then reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go. -
try to open itunes and a error message pops un asking to reinstall that it did not complete. I re did it and same thing pops up. I tried to uninstall everything start from scratch, still same message pops up HELP
Hey KarlaOrtega23,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with iTunes on your PC. I also understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes and the problem persists. While you have already attempted these steps, there are some specific details outlined in the following resource that may help to lead to a resolution. For example, make sure that you have uninstalled all components of iTunes in the order listed. Uninstalling the components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these may have unintended affects:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open

Error installing DS 4.0: "previous operation did not complete"
When I try to install DS 4.0 I get the following error:
Installer has detected that a previous operation did not complete. Do you want to resume?
I had previously installed Information Platform Services 4.0 but the install crashed. Now I am unable to uninstall IPS and I can't install anything else. ( trying to uninstall IPS from Programs and Features just blinks and then doesn't do anything)
Has anyone faced this issue? Can someone PLEASE tell me how to uninstall IPS and/or circumvent the error so I can get DS installed?I had the same problem a while ago. I solved this by
1. Go to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData
2. Under this file you'll find "InstallManifest.sqlite" file. You need to open this file through SQLite editor. You can download it https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/ as an add-on to your firefox.
3. There are 13 tables in this database. Go to "DUTransaction" table. You will see "Committed" column change the value if there is any zero 0 value to 1.
4. Save and close the file.
5. Restart your installation.
This should solve your problems. -

Hey sndlot,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so arearticularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

I have the same problem there seems to be no solution on the discussion board. So what next? -
I was following the process of unistalling all Apple software and reinstalling iTunes. But I am getting an error that says "a program required for this install could not be run."
Other threads recommend updating the Apple Software Update module, but that was uninstalled. So if it's part of the problem, updating it is not a solution.
Windows 7, 64-bit, SP 1 installed. For what it's worth, at the point the installation fails, Bonjour, Apple Application Support, and Apple Mobile Device Support all show as installed on Control Panel. Apple Software Update has a link on the Start Menu but does NOT show as installed on Control Panel. Is there a way to install this separately from iTunes?

Cannot install iTunes 7.6 - setup file does not respond
Today I repurchased an iTouch and recycled my Mini. I tried to upgrade iTunes version 7 to 7.6. After downloading the setup file, I double clicked it but it doesn't respond. No error message appears.
I have tried all of the General Installation Troubleshooting suggestions:
1. I have completely removed iTunes and Quicktime
2. I have emptied my Temp folder
3. When I try to clean up the installer files, the msicuu.exe file gives me a loadstring error, so I wasn't able to do that.
4. When I downloaded the Quicktime Standalone installer, I get no response when I doubleclicked the setup file (just like when I doubleclicked the iTunes setup file).
5. When I tried to disable conflicting software, I could not find qttask or Ituneshelper.
6. Strange characters should not be a problem since it is on my desktop.
What do I do next???If you're using a PowerPC Mac, you can't.
If you're using an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.
If you don't know, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu.

Cannot update iTunes in Windows 7 - download will not complete.
When my software updater alerts me that itunes needs to be updated and I try to download the latest version, I keep running into problems with the download. This happens regardless of internet connection speed, other programs running, etc. The download simply stops halfway through and eventually I get an error message saying the download wasn't completed. I've tried going through both iTunes ("check for updates) and my windows software updater. Suggestions??
perfect, thanks.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Upgraded my iTunes to the latest version(pc),it downloaded the new version but stopped during intallation.error message "invalid signature"
That suggests the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -

Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates -
Downloaded Born to be Wild but only 1/2 the song downloaded. I also downloaded 4 other songs with no problem. How can I let Itunes know there is a problem with this song?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
