HT1926 I have gone through the sequence of uninstalling and deleting everything in order as stated, but when I try to install the newer version and it gets to the part where it needs to uninstall the older version it says it can't find the iTunes msi?
Should I reinstall 10.5? Will it reinstall?
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

The reason I found this problem is that I did a complete reset of my iPhone, so it reset all the content, through settings on the phone. That ended up deleting the ringtones I had. I tried searching up the same tones, however you can't "Install" already purchased stuff like you can in the AppStore.
I can't "iTunes wifi-sync" because you need to have connected at least once to the computer before you can wifi-sync, but because I reset my phone, it doesn't "remember" it once synced with my Mac cause I reset it.
I have gone through the "iTunes connectivity troubleshooting", nothing worked.
http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/itunes/#section_1
My iPhone charges fine with the USB-Wall outlet adapter, so its not the lightning connector or the USB connector on the other end of the cord.
All the USB ports on my Mac are functionning (working with other cords for printers, etc.), but still the iPhone persists not to be recognized in iTunes.
So I am guessing iTunes is the problem.
Any Help, Solutions, Suggestions, would be appreciated.
Thanks.I had not tried that article, however I already went throught the troubleshooting assistant, which covers everything that article has.
I am about to try to delete and re-install iTunes though, which was mentioned in your artile link.
Thanks for the help.
I'll post my findings/results. -
Currently I have 10 bookmark folders, but when I try to bookmark a new webpage, I only get the option of 5 of them. Is there anything I can do to make them all visible? I am now having to bookmark it to the "bookmark menu" and then manually moving it to the folder I want cause it is not being displayed.
No there is no arrow besides any of the folders (I do not have any sub-folders); I do have a "choose..." option, but that does not work either in showing all of the folders.

When I try to install a new version of iTunes I see a itunes.msi missing message.
Last time I tried to update Itunes, I recieved a message that itunes.msi was no available.. It was where it was supposed to be but still wouldn't work. so, I restored a bakcup and tried agin. No luck, so I tried to un-install and got hte same message. Once, ti locked up in the middle of ths and I needed to turn the comouter off.
Now it won't even open.
I don't want to just delete the files. widnows tends not to like that.
what now:Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

In eBay, I was trying to upload pictures when I got this message: "You need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player to use the standard picture uploader.
Download and install the latest version from Adobe before continuing."
In YouTube, when trying to watch a video, I got this message: "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video."
I have gone through the procedure for downloading and installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but still get the same messages when I reopen Firefox and revisit these sites.
There does not seem to be the same problem with Safari, which runs the latest version of Adobe Flash Player with no trouble.
I am using an iMac running Mac OS X Version 10.6.7.You can find the latest Flash player for Firefox on this page.
For Firefox on 64 bit Windows, you need the 32 bit Flash version version because Firefox is a 32 bit application.

I am having problems launching the standalone version of Lightroom 6 after I have gone through the install and activation process? Lightroom starts to open but "hangs" before any photos in the catalgue are displayed. I have contacted the chat support twice but they have not been able to fix the problem.
I went through the activation process yesterday and shut down my PC when I went to bed last evening. When I got up this morning and turned my PC on and then started Lightrom 6 (I upgraded from version 5) it started to launch but then just hung and became "not responsive". I I then uninstalled and then reinstalled the product today but the same thing happened. What is weird is that when I install from the standalone file I downloaded when I purchased the upgrade it looks like it's downloading the software again over the Internet? I have been having these problems for the last four or five days. I have contacted the chat support folks twice and they were able to get it working but whatever they did did not last as the problem reappeared again once the PC was shut down and then started up again.

I am trying to add a wireless printer to my MacBook Pro. It was working properly until we had to get a new modem. I have gone through the steps with the printer customer service rep, and it was working properly for one day. When I booted up the next morning, the printer was no longer "connected". It will work if I have the printer and computer connected, but I much prefer the wireless capability. Suggestions? The printer is a Brother MFC7860DW. The other laptop in the house (Dell) can print wirelessly so I don't think it's an issue with the modem or the printer.

Hi, i've just bought the game "Order and chaos" on i-tunes for my iphone 3gs. But when i try to install it to my Iphone it says that im not compatible.I need to know what the problem is. Help me please, i dont like to pay for something that dosn't work!
i have downloaded the most current version and when i try to install it, it tells me my computer software is not new enough but it will not show me any software updates?
Is that a Mac OS or a Windows OS you're running on that computer, dawn? If it's a Mac OS, what do you have? 10.5.8 Leopard or something higher? -
I just purchased an Apple TV MD199LL/A, got it connected to my internet. I can go to Youtube and watch videos. I'm able to access Netflix. All seems well except I cannot connect to my iTunes account. I have gone through the list - home sharing is set correctly on both iTunes and my Apple TV. The userid is correct on both.
Message "Loading prodrigu's library" and then "Could not connect to prodrigu's library".
I had this same problem when I installed the REMOTE application on my ipad. Everything on the list was affirmative, but had the same problem not being able to connect to my iTunes.
What is missing? Is there a firewall setting that could be causing this?I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open. It also needs to be on the same network. My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not. He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band. Hope this helps.

I can't sync the songs from my computer to my ipod touch. I have gone through the directions on the iPond help page and have not found them helpful. For example, I can't find the autofill button. Can you help?
I have already tried following those steps. I went back and tried to follow them again but they did not work. Some of my songs have synced, some have not. And I am still not seeing the Autofill icon on the bottom of the menu or anywhere else. I fear something has been corrupted here and I need to start afresh.

I have tried manually removing itunes and reinstalling. i have gone through the sevices anf tried turning on the AMDS. i have tried turning off the firewall. i have tried restoring my device. i have tried "fixing" the AMDS in the add/remove programs. I have tried using a different device. i have tried using a different cable. I have tried all of the steps given in the link supplied by Apple. None of these things have fixed my problem. I still have the Error Message "The Apple Mobile Device Service started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs or Alerts service. I am using Windows XP. I am leaning towards a last resort which would be to wipe my hard drive and start from scratch. Does anyone have a solution?

This is the third time of writing this on your Apple Support Communities!
Not with your current user id.
Far too much uneccesary information in your post, which only confuses things, a vast amount!
Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

By the way, what does IOS mean? (I thought IO stood for operating system, but am flummoxed by the S on the end.
Really?
OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do. -
Hi everybody.
Im still hanged by the same problem i reorted in the message listed below ten days ago.
Is there anyone can hep me ?
Due to impossibility to upgrade the i tunes version installated on my computer, i decided to remove it because i had needed to sincronize my new iphone 4s. But when i try to install the i tunes newer version the installation hangs on the collecting product information and only after a long wait i receive the following message :
An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘Microsoft.VC80.CRT.type=”win32”,version=”8.0.50727.6195”,publicKey Token=”1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b”,processorArchitecture=”x86”.Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736B3What version of Windows are you using? This is not a problem with iTunes. It may have to do with an issue of the compatibility of a newer version of iTunes with an older Windows system/older hardware.
What do you want to synchronize? If you were previously using iCloud you should be able to restore most of your oringinal content onto your new phone via was was last synched with the iCloud on your previous phone/device. -
Hello,
I have a 4 yo mac desktop system unkown i downloaded latest version of itunes for use with my iphone5s but when I try to install I get an error message reads" requires ox 10.6.8 or better be installed?....stystem update check shows no updates available.....helpGet more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
If you have a PPC Mac you cannot sync your idevice without a newer computer. See the end of this post for options.
If it says you have an Intel Mac you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (if you don't already have it -- OS 10.6), but check system requirements first:
Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
You can buy Snow Leopard at:
Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After installing, or if you already have some lower 10.6 version, run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.
