I have been having this problem since the 4th of this month. I tried to open iTunes and this error message came up: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 windows error 126". There is nothing else that comes up but if anyone can help or know anything about it I will greatly appreciate it.

The error read "the IPhone could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (4005).
What's happened here? My phone just has a picture of the plug that plugs in the bottom of the phone with an arrow pointing to a blue cirlcle with a picture of a musical note in it and ITunes written below it and that's all. Can not get it to do anything else at all. And now ITunes does not recognize my phone.
What do I do to get my phone back? I'm expecting a very important phone call in about 30mins.

Entry point errors can often be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

I need help, I pluged my iphone to itunes and got a message that said there was an update to download and update, I did but when itunes was rebooting and updating I got an error message. and now the phone is telling me that it cant be activated, to plug it in to itunes or to contact support care.
That message usually indicates that your phone was hacked to unlock it from the original phone carrier, then when you updated or restored it locked back to that carrier.

I click on itunes and this error comes up but it still opens it, "The Disc "Content" cannot be read. A folder was specified instead of a file". So what do I do to get rid of it.
I've encountered this same problem on multiple occasions. Sometimes it will happen for days at a time, then stop for months, then start happening again without rhyme or reason.
This last bout has been the most severe, as my extensive library of movies (one one external HDD) and music (on another external HDD) wouldn't show up in iTunes. After reimporting and losing the library file again I started digging a bit deeper into solutions.
I'm a few hours (hopefully it will stick) and many changes into reconstructing a new iTunes library file after having found a useful solution:

I tried to choose my old .itl when prompted; it wasn't recognized. I then created a new library in a new folder (iTunes 1, as suggested) and repeated the "choose library" step. The new file was recognized. In the past I would change my media folder location in iTunes preferences depending on whether I was importing music or movies. I've decided to leave that at the default location, but have unchecked the copy to media folder option in preferences. I'm hopeful that manually managing where the media are stored and where iTunes looks for them will permanently solve the problem.
Take all of this with a grain of salt.... I hope it helps. Let me know if any of my steps are unclear or if you have any questions.

I'd recommend uninstalling iTunes on your PC, restarting if recommended, then going to the Start button and typing Regedit and searching for anything which mentions iTunes and deleting any mention of it from your Registry as it sounds like something from a previous version of iTunes is still hanging around in your Registry, however be very careful not to delete anything else as this could result in serious issues for you computer.
Once done and all entries for iTunes are deleted from the Registry, check C:\program files or where iTunes was installed and delete the iTunes folder if still present.
Then go here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and download iTunes.

iTunes is updated and works fine and I am able to log onto my account. When I go to purchase a song, I get the error message "Your Apple ID has been disabled". I've tried different methods: changing passwords, making a new account with another email address, and emailing itunes tech support. I am curious as to how many others have been experiencing the same issue. When I googled the error, it seemed like it was happening extremely often with many people.
We all love their products, but they always come with a lot of issues and horrible customer support.

I had some fraudulent charges on my itunes account, so I call my bank and disputed the charges. Right after I did that, I started getting the message "Your apple ID has been disabled." I just realized today that the charges are not fraudulent, they are "in app purchases." One of my daughters downloaded the game Top Girl which is FREE, but in the game Top Girl you use money in the game to purchase things. It just so happens that the money you use to purchase things is real money MY Money!!!. My daughter thought she was using play money in the game and had no idea she was using real money. She spent $106.00 buying stuff. Now I have to call the bank and tell them to release the hold and pay Itunes. I'm hoping this solves the problem. I've tried updating in the following conditions:
1. "Over The Air" at one location;
2. On a Windows computer running the latest version of iTunes at the same location;
3. On Mavericks (10.9.4) running the latest version of iTunes (11.4 (18)) at another location;
4. On Mavericks, latest iTunes over a VPN with a server location in US;
5. On Mavericks, using a 3G connection shared from an iPhone;
6. On Yosemite developer preview with a previous version of iTunes at the same location.
I got the same results in most cases except for an occasional error with code 9; I'll try again in other conditions.
Interestingly enough, I've successfully updated my devices to iOS 7.1.2 and to iOS8 GM without any issues at the same location but, of course, no two conditions are exactly the same -
