  • Desperately trying to download iTunes 11.1 and have tried every suggestion I've come across in the discussions.  NOTHING works! HELP!

I'm desperately trying to download iTunes 11.1.  I have tried every single suggestion and link suggested in the discussions.  My Mac tells me I need it for my iPhone with IOS 7, to connect it.  I check for updates, then it checks, then says it's up to date but it isn't!! Still got the old iTunes! Have tried the download in www.itunes.com, I press download and 2 seconds later it says thankyou, but there's nothing there! Have tried from another link and try to open it and it says it's not recognized.  I think I'm going to go insane.  I have been trying iTunes contact but I can't get hold of them!  Does anyone know what I can do? I'm technologically challenged so I only know the basics and have NEVER had a problem with updates, downloads etc, ever!!! HELP

I just tested it (on 10.6.8) and it worked perfectly well, so it may be something on your computer. You could try creating a new user account on your Mac and using that to try downloading. You can then install on that account and it will be available on your normal one.

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
    MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
    MB576Z/A  Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)

  • Itunes will not open on my computer the icon on desktop  has changed to a white foldertype icon. itunes is listed in programmes on my start menu but will not launch either

    please help
itunes will not open on my computer the icon on my desktop has changed to a white folder and it is still listed in start programmes but will not launch i am concerned about losing all my downloads

You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If  there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?

  • I have windows 7 and Itunes will not start on my computer

Itunes at one point use to start on my computer, it now longer does, I have uninstalled it and installed it again

    I feel your pain.
My iTunes was working perfectly until 2 days ago.
iTunes will not sign into the store - it says there's an apple id or password issue.  But, I can login to this Community perfectly, with the same apple id and password, without issue, so it can't be that........
I have done  fresh install of iTunes 10.6.3.25, but it doesn't make any difference.   A consequence of all this is that my iPod Touch can't access it either.
I've started a ticket with Apple on it, but  I strongly suspect that there's something gone AWOL within iTunes itself......

  • How do i cancel my iTunes Match subscription when iTunes will not open on my computer anymore?

I recently deleted some programs on my computer, several of which I probably shoudn't have, and no iTunes will not open or function at all on my computer. I do not wish to continue using iTunes as I have switched phones, therefore I do not want to be automatically resubscribed to iTunes Match when this subscription ends. The only way I see iTunes working again on my computer requires several hours of searching through .dll files, and a complete system restore as a last resort, but I really dont want to do that just to install a program I dont want to cancel a service I no longer need, then uninstall that program. Is there any way to do this through apple support, online, etc...? It seems so easy to do, I just dont see any options anywhere.
    Thanks

    Hello ktkayaker
In order to cancel iTunes Match, you would need to do within iTunes. Try just creating a new user and then see if iTunes opens up so you can cancel it. I have provided other article that will give some troubleshooting steps to resolve your issues.

  • Itunes will not open on my computer

iTunes will not open on my computer

Hi I have the same problem. I had not used itunes for a while wanted to use it and so decided to install the update, when i tried i got an error message. When i went in the itunes directory there seemed to be no exe file i do not know why certainly consciously i did not eliminate it. So i tried downloading from the apple site which i was able to do and ran the file and confirmed the installation was complete. However itunes did not open. I tried to diagnose and it seems that there is a compatability issue whatever that means in terms of solving the problem. I tried rerunning the program and it asked whether i should replace the files not working but again after completion of installation nothing happens. any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • Itunes will not download onto my computer

I used to have itunes on my computer. It asked me to do an update. Now it will not open on my computer. Its giving me an error.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components; this won't affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
