HT1926 ITunes won't finish installing.

I get the following message during the installation process:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
The installer then says that nothing was installed and to run it again. Bought an Ipod but it would be a paperweight if I can't install Itunes.

Update: The problem seems to be when the installer attempts to install "Apple Software Update." I run CCleaner afterward and the programs showup there. I get the same message when I uninstall The ASU application.

Yes, run means run the install over the interenet, not good if some kind of glitch happens.
Try the Save. Put it on your PC where you can find it. When the download finished, double-click on the file to launch it.

  • New iTunes won't finish installing

I just tried to update to the new iTunes and right when it is about to finish the install this message comes up..
"The Installer could not validate the contents of the ‘iTunesX’ package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Anyone know how to fix this issue?  I read a few things saying I should go into my HD & to Receipts and delete the iTunesX package and update again but this did not work.

  • Itunes won't finish install

I updated itunes but unless I restart my computer with my ipod plugged in itunes tells me I have to restart the computer for updates to take effect. I have done this so many times I have lost count. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still won't work. I'm so aggravated I'm thinking about not getting a new ipod since I need to upgrade mine. It's one of the original video ipods to come out. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

that is almost invariably caused by your SpyCatcher:
iTunes 7 or later for Windows Installation stops responding while "registering modules"
(it's best to launch itunes at least once prior to reinstalling SpyCatcher.)

  • Ipod touch 4g won't finish installing a few apps

I have an ipod touch 4th generation, 64gb -- works great except I recently downloaded/installed a few apps (through the app store on the device)... Most of them installed just fine... But I still have a few that won't finish installing... The status bar looks like its at or very near 100%. They just won't finish...
I have tried turning the wifi off and back on.
I've tried logging out of app store and back in (on the device).
I have tried syncing with my computer. I've also looked for updates through itunes (on my computer) and performed a backup successfully.
None of those things have fixed my problem.
I can play games, access the internet, use other apps, heck even move the unfinished installed apps around on the screen. They just won't finish installing nor are they deletable.
I won't reboot my ipod because in the past when I have had this it put the ipod into a endless boot loop (brick mode) and need to restore to get out of it.
    Suggestions? Thanks!

It hangs at the install window (which is greyed out).  I can't uninstall it from wondows control panel because it isn't on the list to uninstal since it hasn't finished installing.  I can't uninstall LR which I downloaded yesterday (trial, too) because the "istall" is in progress.  I rebooted and the window reappears....saying it's installing but it's greyed out and nothing is happening.  I can' get rid of it!!!!  And I can't get it to install!!  I tried the whole process oer again and it won't run set up because it's already running!   I am running Windows 8

    Hi susanjrs,
Please end the process from Task Manager.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 Won't Finish Installing

I have had Elements 12 running previously on my machine. I have just upgraded the hard drive and am in the process of reinstalling. My version is an upgrade to V11. This installed correctly and is running. Whenever I try to install V12 it gets right to the end and install an icon on the desktop and then just runs. I have left it for 3 hours and it still won't finish the installation. Any help please?
    Thanks

Try installing from a different source by using the link below for the free trial. After installation you can validate the product with your serial number. Some users find this download method more intuitive than the Akamai method or using a DVD. After you click the download button, you start by downloading/updating the Adobe Download Assistant. Then select the PSE12 product and start download and installation.

  • Won't finish install

I tried to install the upgrade but it apparently never finished the install. When I open Firefox, I get a blank white screen with no menues or toolbars. It won't let me uninstall Firefox because it says it needs to reboot to finish the install. But I have rebooted several times and it won't finish the install. I get the same thing if I try to install the upgrade again.

    racingjourno,
SpyCatcher has been linked to this problem. Even though you may not have SpyCatcher installed now, if any of its files are left behind you will experience the problem. If SpyCatcher is installed, shutting it off first is not enough. You may find this user's experience helpful.

  • Itunes won't complete installing?

My itunes won't complete the install process? please help

I tried turning off my anti-virus to no avail. I really have no idea what are they are talking about with "Tools-Downloads" The only place you can do anything is under Help-Check for Updates, and I assumed that was the same thing.
I also tried to email Apple but they need the serial number of my Itunes. How do you find that? I didn't even know Itunes had a serial number.

  • Reset to factory, won't finish installing windows updates

My computer has been running really slow, so I decided to reset the computer to factory. After resetting I went to find updates to reinstall, and it says it has updates that need to finish installing by restarting my computer. However I've restarted my computer numerous times and yet it hasn't bothered to install my updates (keeps saying I need to restart it still). What do I do?

For Dlblady, there's a question for you:
Are you having slow connection to download iOS 6.1.3?
    If fast, try download again.
In future still the same, try iTunes to download update instead.
    1. Connect to your Mac or PC to iTunes.
    2. Click iPhone/iPod/iPad.
    3. Click Check for Updates.
    4. Click Download and Update.
    5. Wait until finish.

  • HT1926 itunes won't download on windows 7 pc

I keep hitting the download button with my pop-up blocker off and it says thank you for downloading itunes. Only problem is that nothing is ever downloaded. I tried downloading it a good 15 times and same thing everytime. Can someone please help me download itunes to my PC? Thank you.

    hey everyone-
I was able to solve this by going into windows update and making sure all of my updates were up-to-date and that none failed to update.  Try deleting all itunes files, going into windows update and download any updates needed.  Be sure to do the restart afterwards.  Then come back and redownload itunes and everything should install just fine (I walked away for a bit, it takes a little while).  Hope this helps Windows users!
