HT1933 fraudulent charges on my credit card

How can I check to see if I have a fraudulant charge, or where the itunes music/movie was downloaded at? I believe I have a fradulant charge on my CC.
How can I determine where this transaction occured, when  it occurred, and what was purchased on what device?
Thank you!

If these charges are being made to a credit or debit card, the most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company or bank and report the unauthorized charges. That company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
Next, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. There will be no way to determine what device the purchase was made from nor a location (not without a court order to Apple and to the relevant ISP, anyway).
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.
Regards.

  • HT1933 why am i getting charges on my credit card when iu am not buying anything?

why am i getting charges on my credit card when i am not buying anything?

First, if you're using an iOS device, make sure that you did not inadvertently make an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. Check your Purchase History to see if that reminds you as to what you might have purchased:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
If you find that these were in-app purchases, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases, but there are no guarantees.
If the charges are not in-app purchases that you made and forgot but the charges do appear in your Purchase History, contact the iTunes Store and let them know. You should also immediately change your password for your Apple ID. If the charges don't appear in your Purchase History, they were probably fake charges made directly to your credit card, and your card issuer will need to handle those.
    Regards.

  • HT1933 i am questioning an iTunes charge on my credit card?  what is the easiest way to do this???

How do I find out if an itunes store charge on my credit card is correct??

You can check the purchase history on your account via the Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) drop-down menu option on your computer's iTunes - though I'm not sure if that shows in-app purchases and/or auto-renewing subscriptions.  If you don't recognise the charge then you can contact iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT3702 unknown charges on my credit card for ITune Apps?

Why do I have 2 $40 charges on my credit card 2 days in a row = $120 and I have no idea what it is for and no history of any purchases in my account history?

There is no iTunes Store telephone support.

If this is a fraudulent charge you also need to raise the issue with your credit card company.
Happens often?  There was a long topic that had about 1500+ posts about iTunes accounts being hacked but since Apple started the new security measures I haven't seen it recently.  Most people now seem to be posting instead they have forgotten their security question answers or have been locked out of their accounts.

I have visited a genuis bench at Fountain gate however, they tell me I need to ring apple support which I will do on the next working day.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

You've checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account on your computer's iTunes) and nobody else has access to your account ? I have two small charges on my credit card from iTunes store and I would like to find out what they are. The number listed is a recording and tells me to come to the website for answers. There is no sign of any purcases in my itunes store. Where can I get a person to talk to from I tunes? Has any one had this happen to them?

    Look at you purchase history.
Open itunes, click on your name in the top right corner and go to your account and look.
BTW, there is no telephone support for itunes at all.

  • HT1918 unwanted charges on my credit card from the itunes store

How do I file a complaint about a $52.99 charge on my credit card?  Yesterday I downloaded a free game - Angry Birds Go!.  My grandson was playing it, and he found a car he wanted but I had to log into my account to buy it.  It did not have a price on it.  I figured it was a few dollars.  I get onto my bank account this morning and there is a charge for $52.99 on my credit card.  This is not acceptable.

Purchases are considered final but you try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support and see if they will credit or refund you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com . iTunes Support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours.
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption.
You can also Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off' to prevent future in-app purchases being made.

    Hello, Lynne.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is a helpful article that explains how iTunes purchases are billed.
iTunes Store: How iTunes Store purchases are billed
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5582
When using iTunes to purchase content for the first time on a new device, it may require you to verify your payment information as a way to authenticate your device.  If this not a new device attempting to access iTunes store and prompting you provide payment information, there could be an outstanding balance.  This article will show you how to verify you purchase history and invoices.
iTunes Store & Mac App Store: Seeing your purchase history and order numbers
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
Also, you can change the payment method as none as long as there isn't an outstanding balance on the account.

    Hope this helps,
