Jim2178: my point is the one who purchased the applicaitons or credit is not the one who is the credit card holder. It means the credit holder didn't permit the account holder to purchase. the problem is Apple requests all the Apple ID account holder to enter credit card information to be granted the Apple account. Does your 13y child have credit card? Of course, it will be the parents' credit card. How to prevent from such inadvertent purchase? My son's friend recently purchased ~S$1,288 applicaitons and credits with my son's iPhone in the past month. It was discovered when the credit card bill is received. What a pitty...

Thanks, I have not but I am going to. I don't know which one I should talk to? Mayme I should send to all 8 persons from iTunes supports. However, I have done the "Report a Problem" with the "advertenly purchase reason" and stated the reason for the refund request on every APP items of the purchase history. It is about 94 items. But, Apple supports(8 of them) replied they have made some exception to refunds(4 of 94) and some requried more time(6 of 94) from the few latest purchses. There are ~180 In APP purchase which represents ~U$900. These cannot be reported the problem. Don't know who I should talk to.
What I am going to do is to reply the emails to [email protected]  with the 270 purchase list and tell them what happened. I can only hope that Apple can look into such issue and give some help.

    If it's not workins as described in the store then you can try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).

    It is easier to get it from the Apple Reseller. They are all over Singapore.
    Alternatively, you can get it from the Apple Reseller at Terminal 3 at the airport.
    Tell them you must have the GST refund form.

    Try runing iTunes in admin mode. That fixed the issue for me. You can either right click on the shortcut on your desktop and choose to run as an admin each time you launch it or go to the advanced tab under security on the program itself and click the run as admin every time.

    Apple has an out of warranty replacement program, the cost in the US is $199. I don't know if any original iPhones are still available under this program(remember, that phone was discontinued sometime ago), but even if they were, why would you spend $200 on a discontinued phone?

    Due to the same security features that mean there's no malware capable of infecting an iPad that hasn't been jailbroken, there's also no real anti-virus software for the iPad. The security of iOS (specifically, the sandboxing feature) would not allow an anti-virus app to scan your iPad. There are a few anti-virus apps, but they can only scan things external to your iPad, such as your e-mail or Dropbox accounts.
    So, in short, yes, you're just panicking.

    I just got back from Afghanistan and discovered two fresh charges for $40.00 from itunes on my Visa account. I havent bought anything from I tunes in over a year. And sure as **** not worth $40.00. The Bank rep told me this has been happening a lot and credited my account for the $80.00 worth of unauthorized charges. Also had to have my card cancelled and get a new one. Apple itunes had better get their **** together and aggressively put a stop to this. Or I will. In court, if it happens again. This is happening in their name. I see this all over the place and haven't seen a single statement from Itunes. I'm terminating my relationship with itunes until I see they have satisfactorally addressed this. No one rips me off.

    For your account's password you might be able to get it reset via this page : http://iforgot.apple.com
    You can't delete an account, and all content that you had downloaded with it will remain tied to it.
    If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset your qesstions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
    If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

    2) Build robust Java applications;
    3) Learn about java Servlet containers ...
    ... Oh, heck, I don't know, but you get the picture, right?
    I have my own opinions about such classes, but I'd like to hear what you all have to say, especially since I know a number of you are technical managers.
    BTW - the programmers are smart and competent, but so far as I know have never worked with ANY OO language before.

IMO, it would be more worth while to spend 4 days teaching about good OO design, independent of language, then to spend time teaching technically inclined people how to download an SDK or IDE, read docs, etc. Any good engineer should be able to pick up the basics of working with the technology well enough without much instruction. It's thinking about programming in a whole new paradigm that's going to be the struggle. That's where the effort should be spent.

    Can I assume the term engineer is used loosely? Because none of us, to my knowledge can qualify as engineers ... either the Casey Jones type, or any other ;o). We're all simply application programmers here.Yeah, slip of the tongue. I tend to say engineer because I dislike the term "programmer". "Programmer" doesn't do a good job of expressing everything that is involved in what most of us do.

  • Is there a limit to the size and/or resolution of an image that iPhone can display?

    I navigated to a url of a PNG with a file size of about 3MB and resolution of 5050×2383px. When I was viewing it in Safari, I was able to zoom in all the way just fine. However, after saving the image and viewing it through either iPhone's native Photos app or an app called Photo Viewer Lite, I realized the the image was displaying at about half its original size. I was unable to zoom in all the way. I plugged the device into my PC to see if the image was saved unmodified and it was.

    Thank you for getting back to me on this...  my slides are set for 1024 x 768 does making it that size reduce the mega pixels of the image?  The slide show I have going now is 3.88 GB is this to big for Keynote... things are really running slow here...

    Hey! Welcome to the community :)
    You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to investigate this for you. All billing/refund requests are dealt with by them directly and not here on the community since private details are normally required. If you got charged after 1 month, then you did activate a premium trial, but it sounds like you might have done so on the wrong account (since its easy to have two). 
    If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Most people are judging their battery usage by times of day. I want comparisons by usage. Go to settings/general/usage and it will tell you the usage since "time since last full charge". What are your times....Mine are for today since I charged overnight.

    Most of my usage has been twitter or email. A little bit of game usage.
    (yes I realize there are other threads of battery comparison but they are all comparing how much batter they have during times of day but that is dumb because there is no telling what you have been doing with your phone.)

    Hi there, i have recently bought a new iphone 3GS and i'm seeing the same resaults for my battery and i own a 3G as well which my wife now uses and ive noticed that after upgrading to 3.0 its battery was depleting a bit faster then when it was on 2.2.1.
    I logged my 3GS and i got in one day
    Usage : 6 hourr/ using wifi most of the day, internet use, mail, ipod, SMS, and watched about 40 minutes of video.
    Standby: 12 hours
    after all that it died and shut off.
    I've tried draining the battery twice now to condtition my battery and i saw about a 7 percent jump each time so maybe that is working. I was getting about 4 and half hours hours before i conditioned and then about 5:45 mins and then about 6 hours.
    I do remember last year when 2.0 came out my 3G had terrible battery life, very similar to what i'm seeing with my 3GS, and 2.0 was fixed with a firmware, so i only hope that the first firmwre will address this issue.
    Or apple could just tell us the truth that the new phone has worse battery life then last yeasr model.
    I did a percentage stat of life i was getting by 1 percent and i found that for each percent that depleted i got about 3 minutes and 45 seconds. If i was on 3G and surfing or checking email, i was getting about 2 minutes and 34 seconds, i literally could watch my battery depleted like i was driving a hemi and watching the gas gauge go down. So if apple claims that your supposed to get about 9 hours of regular usage on wifi or just playing movies and music and games, and 5 hours of usage on 3G, there must have some sorda super model we all dont have!!!!?????
