When I was syncing my iphone 4 to my computer my itunes crashed and was looping from one song to another. so i tried all the suggestions and had to reset my iphone which wiped out all my songs. when I went to purchases my recent song purchases from itunes where gone.. how do I get them back or get credit for them..

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

My wife has had to contact apple to restore all her purchsed audiobooks but some are not avaiable on itunes anymore

My wife has recenlty lost her audiobooks and apple have put back into her download section the books but there are several missing and they are not on itunes anymore after contacting apple they have said theres nothing that they can do has there not avaiable ? surely thats not right any purchases made on itunes are yours to keep forever and you can delete them and re download them for free , worst thing is shes not even listened to them . Why have apple said they wont refund her for the cost of the apps which are nolonger downloadable ?

That is NOT true. iBooks, yes. Music, yes. Ringtones, no. Audiobooks, no.
They were good enough to allow her to re-download the ones that are still in the store. That's more than they were obligated to do. Backing up media and other content is your responsibility.

Check to see if Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases is checked in iTunes Preferences so that you can see your purchases with the cloud symbols next to them. Alternatively you can go to the iTunes Store and look at your purchases and download them directly from there as well.

HT2404 Although I have selected the recent OS X 10.8.3 update several times, waited for the installation to take place, then Restarted at the prompt the App Store still shows the update to be outstanding. How can I tell if the update has completed?

If a computer is authorized but is discarded withour deauthorizing, it continues to count as an authorized computer.
But, it is simple enough to "Deauthorize All" and then re-authorize just the ones that you are still really using.

Wow, that' s awesome, I encountered the same problem with ya today when trying implement Pickers in Tabbar, and can't figure out why, the debugger just throw back such vague message and guess what ? I spent like 3 hours banging my head against the wall wonder why it's not working, I using XCode 2.2.1, my debugger wont work ( program won't stop at break points for what ever I tried ), and not very friendly with those newbie like me - really don't know where are all the Apple's software developer 1337 ? If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

While this won't help if you are having password problems, I did want to point out that you do not need to access old machines to de-authorize them. Once you are signed in at the iTunes store, access "my account" by clicking on your username in the top navigation bar. Then "manage devices". You can remove any old machines that way.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- Try on another computer

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information. Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.
