How do I know if my iPad is locked to a carrier. I bought it from apple and bought a three sim. I've taken it out and I'm selling iPad cause I have new ipad2. Does this mean the old one is locked to three network or will any micro sim work .
Thanks for reply. I bought it from apple store and bought sim off them just as pay as you go, not on a pay monthly plan. Haven't used it since it ran out, only use wi fi but because I'm selling the old one somebody has asked if its locked, I just thought somebody might be able to tell me but thanks anyway.

yes the unlocked is written on the receipts so if its locked it can be claimed with the help of the receipt.

For doing an iCloud backup, it does not matter if your iPhone is locked or not. The iCloud backup will occur if your iPhone is plugged in and connected to WiFi, and, in fact, being locked is required.
You cannot get to the Settings icon if the iPhone is locked. You would have to unlock it first.
All the above assumes "locked" means you have the iPhone passcode locked, and may or may not remember the unlock passcode. -
Hi anybody there who can help me ha..? My phone 5s was stolen 1 month ago..Find my phone is no a big deal bcz it seems to be wiped out all data including settings. it might be in use somewhere turning new fresh Gadget. How can i know whether my phone is in use??
You would know for a fact if the device is in use, but if you go back to the find my iPhone app in iCloud.com, you can either select to erase it, or place it in lost mode, in which case, once the device makes a connection to the internet, it will automatically go into that mode.

I am in Thailand trying to activate my iphone 4S with Thailand SIM card.
but the phone message says below.
This iPhone is not currently setup to work with carrier you're attempting to use. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked.
so my question is how do I know whether my phone is unlocked one or not, before I go and try get new SIM card.

The only way to get your phone unlocked is to contact that phone company/carrier that the phone is locked to and hope that they offer unlocking. Apple cannot unlock a phone for you, only the phone company that your phone is locked to can do that. Some offer unlocking and some don't, so if the phone company does not offer unlocking, then you are out of luck and you'll either have to buy a new phone or use a sim card of the comapny - take out a contract with the compnay that the phone is locked to.
Anyway - contact Apple to see whether your phone is locked conclusively and if you talk to them they can tell you what they need. -

Y I suspect:
1) i use whatsapp and i saw a profile picture of a friend which he said he didn't put it..(i thought his might be hacked)
2) when i went through my photos i found pictures i have never taken and copied from any place....more over i was able to see someone else's whatsapp conversation which was screen shoted and kept as a photo
please let me know what i need to do as i had some business documents also on that thinking iphone is secured ;(
Thanksi recently reseted my phone to the factory settings deleted all the content and never copied anything back,since i was having an issue with my phone were it took lot of time to type in for messeges and even it was not responding to show the keypad....anyways i still have the issue of the keys getting stuck while typing......
now back to what you said please let me know how come the additional photos came into my photo library then??? i am sure no one has used my phone for the past 2 weeks, i refreshed it 2 weeks back...and its still in its factory condition from the day i bought all the apps are installed from the apple store too, more over i paid for the whats app application. -

How do I know whether that server outputstream is sending me a response or not?
I have opened the Client InputStream to recieve a response from a servlet,but how
can i be sure that i will receive a response from the servlet?
I cud be waiting for an 15 expecting a response but havent received one..
Is there any way to check whether the servlet is sending me a response?
The reason I am asking is this.
I have written a Java Client that connects to a servlet.It has to wait for a
response from the servlet.It will wait for 5 seconds and if this doesnt recieve
a response,it will return back else it will display the response.
I have set a timer on my client for 5 seconds and a timer on the servlet for 15 seconds.
Essentially,when the client connects,the servlet response is held for 15 seconds
and the client tries for 5 seconds.
But the client is unable to exit without a response.The response comes back in 15 seconds.
The client shud have the message 'Connection Timed Out' after 5 seconds.
This means there is an error somewhere.
As the response takes 15 seconds,the client shudnt recieve one.
So,is there a way I can block the servlet response?
I am using threads and Inner classes for the timer purposes..
Please can any one help me?

I purchased an iPhone 4s from Thailand, they told me that it was a factory unlocked version.
I could even run my Vodafone India SIM in it there.
After coming back to India, I wanted to update my iOS to the latest version but was afraid to do so because i had seen the phone asking for carrier unlock code9later the message simply disappeared!)
Since a year, i have been using iOS5 and i really want to upgrade it.
The guys at apple customer care told me that the phone is locked by US Sprint but then how am i being able to use a vodafone SIM in it?
They told me to restore it nd check whether its unlocked or not
i dint do it because if it was really a locked version my phone would empty my wallet in order to get itself unlocked
till now i am confused whether my iPhone is locked or unlocked.

When the screen prompts me to run the download program, everything seems to be going right, but once the program goes through it's paces, I'll check the firefox version in my program files and it still says I only have firefox version 2.
