I have up dated my itune and now it will not play my old purchase movies. I have brought new ones and they work but my old purchases will not. Why and how can I fix it.
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -
I have done my back up using time machine, now I have a new mac and I need to access the files that I had saved from my old mac. How can I do that?
Use Migration Assistant on your new Mac:
Click Continue:
On the next screen, choose your Time Machine backup disk.
Don't bother to migrate Applications unless you know they will work on your new Mac. For example, PowerPC applications won't work. Just migrate your user account which will copy all your photos, music, movies, and other documents.
Note: you will not be able to migrate the information to same account in which you are already logged in. Migration Assistant will tell you that and recommend what to do. It can migrate the information to a new account, but you will have to give it a name you might want to change later. One way around this is to create a temporary account, log in to it, and run Migration Assistant which will replace your normal account. Then, log out of the temporary account, log in to your usual one, verify everyting works as you expect, and delete the temporary one.
All this can be avoided when you set up a brand new Mac by running Setup Assistant which essentially does the same thing to create your new account, but most people are too excited to do that and elect to migrate later. -
my pc crashed and i lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. now i have a new pc and when i log into itunes all my music and photos are not available. I guess i dont understand the pupose of itunes and its worth. I thought it backed up all my photos and music, but apparently not. So what do I use so that when i lose data on my pc i can retrieve it again at a later date or after a crash?/
Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -
I have a new iphone5 and about 5 meters wifi signal is reduced to one scale, and finally cut off my connection with routerom. I also have iphone 4s and ipad3 and on those two I have full signal everywhere. I installed the latest softwer iso 6.0.2 and I still have a problem!
Just get into "General" -> last option is "RESET" -> Opt for "RESET NETWORK SETTINGS"
Your phone will reeboot in a couple of minutes n then get fine on with full signal on the wifi scale.

A friend of my daughter's used my mac computer when she got her new iphone to help set it up. Now that I have a new iphone, her apps and all the app store information is stuck on my phone. Her app account keeps showing up when I try to install something new, and I obviously do not have her password. How do I get this off my phone??
Open iTunes on the computer. Without any iPhone plugged in, go to iTunes' menu and do Store > Sign Out.
The click the iTunes Store row on the left of the iTunes display. You can then sign on from the signon row on the right side of the display using the correct Apple ID and password. Then you'll be all set! -
My hard drive crashed. I was using my iphone as a backup for my photos.I got a new harddrive and am now trying to sync with my new hard drive but it says that to sync my data will be wiped out. I have no other backup of those pictures. How do I sync my new hard drive?
The iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device.
The transfer process of photos from your computer is a one way transfer process only.
Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are optmiized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes transfer process - the orginal resolution of these photos is reduced on your iPhone. This is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported. These photos and all other photos stored on your computer's hard drive should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring such data in the opposite direction, but the original resolution of these photos will be lost.

I have a new macbook pro. I'm seeing my wife's iphone contacts on my icloud. I've done everything I know to do to make sure my apple id is correct and has my information. I can't figure out how to remove her contacts and add my iphone contacts to the cloud or my macbook pro. Any suggestions? Thanks.
