HT1937 I can't activate my iPhone 5 it says the activation server is temporarily unavailable
I'm having trouble with my iPhone 5 yesterday I just saw a message saying iPhone is not activated and every time I try it won't work it's saying the activation server is temporarily unavailable . I have the ios 7 I got it from a friend that has a developers account . Even I plug my phone to iTunes it won't still activate I don't know what else to do I'm so frustrated about this cuz I'm waiting for an important call its for ,my job interview please help
If you have iOS 7 your're either a developer or a thief. If you're a developer, post in the developer forum. If you're a thief, hopefully you will be prosecuted. In any case, you cannot receive support here.

Hi I have taken my daughters iphone and wiped it and resetted it but it will now not let me activate it via itunes and will not even go onto the home screen of the phone so i can go to settings etc and i do not know what to do to enable the phone to be activated

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked. -
i bougt my son a unlocked iphone 3gs for xmas, i have accidently done the latest update and now the phone is saying no servive can anyone help,

Sometimes the activation server is just not available for a short time. Trying again usually corrects this problem. But as Peter Gillespie suggests, if the iPhone you are trying to activate has ever been jailbroken, or the computer you are using to activate the phone has been used to jailbreak an iOS device then you will get the Activation Server not Available message.

i upgraded my iphone 3gs to os 5.1 and since then i have not been able to register it in order to use it, anytime i try to activate it a notification that "the activation server is temporarily unavailable".if i connect it to itunes too, the system tells me to insert SIM card meanwhile, i already have inserted a SIM.

I deleted EVERYTHING under
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
or YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Some people have had success only deleting everything in the cookies folder
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\Cookies

now my iphone is 3GS 32GB and now it is version 4.1 and i make an update to 6.01 and the update is installed but there is an error saying that the activation server is temporarily unavailable and saying try connecting to itunes and to activate and i do but nothing new i need a solve for my proplem now !!

I have same message. Just tried the update yesterday. Phone NOT jail broke and my SIM card has been init since I bought it. I need my phone and information ASAP. Is backed up on comp but can't get to without phone! During update my laptop shut off. Problem started after I started it back up to finish the process. Why would that make a diff? What to do now???? I have read several questions on this but dont see a solution.Activation requires a SIM, assuming the SIM is functional it should simply activate.
The vast majority of activation issues are the result of devices that have been hacked or jailbroken. If that is the case, no support can be provided here. -
