HT1937 I have been asked by e-mail to verify my account details plus bank details is this the norm or just a scam?
Is the above question a scam?
If someone is asking for account and bank details by email, it is a scam.

Recently I have lost the ability to access hyperlinks from my email. Need help fixing this issue.
Try quitting Mail and then reset the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I have bought an used Iphone from a shop. then i put my account id in it. then it goes perfectly. After awhile i have done a reset all data and sitting then i could not get the Iphone started because it have been asked to put another email starting with u
For contact [email protected]Sounds like the Activation Lock is still set to the previous owner. If you are unable to get that Apple ID and password that iPhone is totally useless to you.
Take it back to the shop and demand your money back because they sold it to under false pretenses.

TS1702 We have been asked to purchase an update but can't cancel. It just keeps asking
We have been asked to purchase an update for a free app but it won't let us cancel? Just keeps popping back up!
Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone. -
I'm trying to set up my apple tv and have been asked for my apple id then my password. Then I am asked for the password for my password. What is this?
It's when I am in home share set up. I give my apple ID and password as asked, then I am prompted to provide a password for my password.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. had to go out for a few hours. -
A thin coloured line appeared on my i-Mac screen and I have been asked to pay £139 to have it repaired. This was reduced by the manager of the Sheffield store from c£300!!
The computer is 1 year and 19 days old but the warranty period is 1 year. I was uanable to bring the machine in earlier but the problem was there 2 weeks ago within the warranty period. Still no joy from the store as I had not reported it before the 12 months!!
What with Time Capsule back-up issues I an beginning to lose faith in Apple.
Surely a reasonable person could expect the machine to be repaired FOC as a goodwill gesture?opticalted wrote:

Not after the warranty has expired. Apple has no obligation to do so. -
I am using a Mac and just bought Photoshop Elements 13. I have been given a 28 page Pdf and have been asked to optimize the item to reduce the file size. Can this be done in Photoshop Elements? if so how?
No the pages will open as separate documents in Expert Mode. You really need Acrobat or possibly you could copy and paste the contents into MS word. Then re-save as PDF.

I have been asked to review a new app for Ipad/iphone . The developers site is asking me to download a plug- in to view, is this safe
What does http://developer.apple.com/ have to do with reviewing an app? Why aren't you downloading from the App Store?
I've never had any login there result in a request for any app....
The Dev Center is as safe as your logon... -
Trying to do a password update but it asks me for a four digit pass code. Does anyone know if that would have been a significant date or set of letters or numbers I was prompt for in the past when I first bought my phone? Thanks.
It rather depends on where you are seeing the demand for a passcode. If, as I assumed, you are trying to change the password at http://appleid/apple.com then that will ask for a passcode if 2-step verification has been set up. On the other hand, if, as Csound1 has assumed, you have changed the password on that website and are trying to enter it in your phone (for which you need to sign out completely before you can do this) and are being asked for a passcode that can only be one you set yourself (unless of course the phone is second-hand in which case that would open a whole new can of worms).

I have been asked to update my billing information on my account, when I update the account the info that comes back is that the card is denied? i have enterd it three times, and I know that the card is good and not expired. can anyone give me any advice?
How were you asked to update this information? Was it in an email? - if so you need to check whether it's genuine by looking at the sending address and the long header, and the URL of any link in it. If you are not absolutely sure it's from Apple you need to stop the card.
If you were actually on the iTunes Store having gone there directly then the request would be genuine, so no worries there, but you will need to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services', then ' 'iTunes', and then 'iTunes Store', then 'Purchases, Billing & Redemption'. -
Since upgrading to OS X version 10.9 (Mavericks). I have been receiving more Spam Mail which looks as if I've sent a Messages to Myself. How can I prevent this embarrassing mail reaching me?
in Safari, certain
characters like hyphens and apostrophes appear as
black diamonds with question marks.
This has nothing to do with fonts. It usually happens when your encoding is set wrong for a specific page. Panther Safari did not show these diamonds, but just displayed nothing, so people get the impression something has changed, but it really hasn't.
In Safari, I'm using Unicode (UTF-8) as my default
encoding. Is this setting correct?
Not if you keep running into pages with black diamonds. It would be better to set your default to Western ISO Latin 1. The black diamonds will probably go away. -
Since upgrading iMac to osx lion I have been experiencing problems in mail, it spontaneously stops receiving and tells me it can't find the pop server and also the biggest problem is that when I send with an attachment the recipient doesn't receive it.
I have to restart mail most times before it starts recieving or recognizes the pop server.
As I said a lot of recipients do not recieve my mails when there is an attachment or when I reply to their email.Contact iTunes Customer Service and request assistance

I have just installed IoS7 on my I Phone. Having reset the security questions I have been ask for a Rescue Email address. My primary address is not acceptable, I have tried other addresses put but the process will not forward. I cannot go back, my phone now will not function. The Rescue Email address keeps appearing. Did you check the email account for a verification email from Apple? You may need to respond by clicking the Verify Now link before the new rescue address will be accepted.

How can I see the url of a link before clicking on it?
Hi. I have Firefox 10.0.2. I used to be able to see the url of a link on web pages in the bottom left of the browser. That way, if I the url didn't seem legit I wouldn't click on the link. But now, when I put the mouse over a link, nothing comes up.

Is it possible to use an external hard drive to use the music collection at home and at work?
I recently started using iTunes both on my home notebook as on my desktop computer at work. I also discovered it is not possible to download the songs I bought on both machines. It's a pitty, but I can understand Apple's point of view. I was thinking

Can't update Safari to 8.0.2
I have a 2010 MacBook Pro, 13", running Yosemite 10.10.1. In December I got a notification to update Safari, from 8.0 (10600.1.25.1) to 8.0.2, so I went to the App Store and selected "Update" next to Safari 8.0.2. The button changed to "Installed" so
