HT1937 iPad and iPhone wont sync

A while ago my computer wiped my iTunes and renamed it iTunes 1. I somehow managed to get some music back but it was from every single song that I had ever put on the computer and not some of my purchases.
I've been using my iPhone ever since pretty much ignoring my laptop but I've now bought an iPad which I need to put all my songs and videos onto that should be on my laptop. However, my computer connects with my phone but wont transfer my purchases onto the iTunes. It also picks up the iPad but won't put any songs, videos, photos, apps or anything that I previously had on my account.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix it?

In order to transfer iTunes content from your computer to your iPad, the content must be in your iTunes library.
With the iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
You must manually make your selections under the various tabs for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.

  • Ipad and iphone not syncing with icloud

My ipad AND iphone 4S have stopped syncing with icloud - for calendar and reminders at least - suspect for all apps - any suggestions anyone? Have tried ensuring default calender is the same across all, but thus is also impacting other apps.. Help appreciated.

Do you mean per app? Have done for calendar on iphone, but reluctant to do so on ipad as that's the one that contains loads of updates (as it means deleting everything on the ipad?)... if I have to do this I will eventually, its just that as it's both my iphone and ipad involved, it seems like it might be more likely to be an icloud issue? She said hopefully...

  • My ical events showing up as "new events" on my ipad and iphone when synced with exchange?

I am running exchange 2010 and have my macbook, iPad and iPhone syncing to exchange. I noticed that lately after my lion upgrade it is changing the ical meeting events that I create on my macbook show up on my iPad and iPhone as "new events". All of the information entered into the event is gone. This is really frustrating and is starting to become a problem. I need to find a solution soon. Has anyone else experienced this issue or resolved this issue?

Maybe a fix in the works?

  • IPad and iPhone stopped syncing over wifi

    HI
since I was prompted to changed my apple password my iphone and iPad wont sync. I've restarted both several times but I'm having no joy

    Hi there clare235,
If you have as yet been unable to sync via Wi-Fi from either of these two devices, I would use the troubleshooting information in the following article to help you get that resolved, named:
iTunes 10.5 and later: Troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi syncing
The article is kind of large, but just start at the top and verify all the settings, and troubleshooting as you go.

  • My iPad and iPhone wont connect to my iTunes Library.

My iPad Air and iPhone 5s wont connect to my iTunes Library on my Macbook Pro.
Both will see the library and try to connect but as it reaches 1/4 of the way it stops.
If I turn off my iTunes Match on both devices, the full library loads on the iPhone only. I can go into the library and it will play. Does iTunes Match have to be turned off?
On the iPad, it shows the that shared library is connected to but it wont allow me to move off that screen. It freezes. I push the home button and it closes. I can reopen but it is no longer connected to the library. I cannot get further than this.
My Apple TV works perfectly connected to the same library.
I dont have more than 5000 songs in my library or more than 10 movies and 300 + episodes  of TV series.
Any ideas to what could be causing the issue with the iPad?

Forgot to mention. Have tried obvious things like rbooting Mac and iPhone and iPad with no success

yes this is much easier to do on the iphone as it's just a switch in the pre-existing weather app, while leaving the region format unchanged.  unfortunately, the ipad has no such pre-existing app, and the notification center will not take it's cue from any weather app you download.
The reason that I explained the solution the way that I did, is because there is NO weather app on the iPad and the only way that I can see to change this would be to change the region format.
Besides, I based my answer on the assumption that the region format was set incorrectly on Brian's iPad.
sorry for the confusion, that response was meant to defend your solution to iamcem (i should have quoted their response when i posted mine).  they were saying that changing the region was a bad idea, and that the change should be made in the default weather app.  i was explaining to them that although their's was a simple solution, it only worked on the iphone.  i was trying to explain why their solution wouldn't work on the ipad, and so why your solution was the best available.

  • IPad and iPhone wont connect to iTunes

Can anyone explain why my iPhone and iPad suddenly won't sync to my MacPro. They have both been syncing no problem until today. Using iTunes 10.6.1 and neither device appears in iTunes. However if you go into devices in preferences both products are listed. Tried to sync via WiFi and that failed also. However they do appear on the other Macs but I need them to sync to the MacPro. Went through the troubleshooting list on the Apple Support page, have tried different USB slots, cables etc but still can't connect. Hope someone can help. Thanks

  • Ipad or iphone wont sync

both take ages (average 2-3hours) and still say syncing or backing up so i have to stop the

What os version pretty old iPhone iPod firmware took a long time try updating it

  • Keeping Apps on iPad and iPhone in sync

I have an iPad2 as well as an iPhone 4...the iPad was sync to the iphone thru iCloud when I first set it up; however, none of my apps are in sync if I play a game on one device it doesn't update my progress on the other. Is there a way to keep them in sync and updating?

Unless the games themselves have that feature within them then no - do they have any options within them or in Settings ?

  • My notes on my iPad and iPhone stopped syncing with iCloud; now they are all gone, can I restore them?

I have iCloud set up to sync both my iPhone and iPad. Today, my notes were not synching at all, in the past they have perfectly, so I flipped the Notes switch under iCloud settings off and back on to 'refresh' it, now all of my notes are gone. Is there a way to restore them?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
How long ago was this, some users have reported them coming back after a short time.

  • Is there a way to have my iPad and iPhone automatically sync information without syncing on a computer?

I just bought an iPad 2 and already own an iPhone 4 and I was wondering if there is a way to sync information, songs, contacts, calendar, etc. without syncing them to my computer?

That depends. I use Google for my contacts, calendar and email. I have it set up as an Exchange account on both my iPhone and my iPad. Contacts, calendar and email are all kept in sync wirelessly without the need for me to do anything. If you are in the U.S. and your iPhone is the AT&T version, you can get any music that you purchased on either device (or on your computer) on the others without syncing. Look for the Purchases icon in the iPod app. If you're not in the U.S. or your iPhone is with Verizon, you'll have to wait until iOS 5.
For notes, I use Evernote. It's a cross platform app. I have it on my computer, both of my phones (iPhone and Android) and on my iPad. All of my notes are accessible to me from any device as long as I have an internet connection. I can also store notebooks locally on my iOS devices and my computer for offline use.
So, it's not completely seamless but many things can be synced wirelessly and without a computer right now.
    Best of luck.

  • Why can't I get my iPad and iPhone to sync my iMessages.  The iPad comes up with check connections

I have tried to sync my iPad with my iPhone.  I follow the steps and when I go onto iMessages on the iPad it won't let me sign in it keeps coming up with to check connection and try again

    Hey there Dora,
It sounds like you are unable to sign into your iMessage account becuase of an error message telling you to check the connection. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268
If you see "Could not sign in, please check your network connection and try again" when signing in to your Apple ID
To resolve this issue, follow these steps.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you have a data connection by going to www.apple.com in Safari. You can complete Apple ID activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. If you need help connecting to Wi-Fi, follow these steps.
If you're using Wi-Fi, make sure that your local Wi-Fi network is using the recommended Wi-Fi settings.
Sign in to your account and ensure that the primary email address and alternate e-mail addresses have been verified. If verification is pending, follow the instructions in the email Apple sent to that email address to complete verification. Or remove the e-mail addresses from the account.
If your Apple ID isn't an email address, you can change it. The Apple ID that you're using to activate FaceTime or iMessage must be an email address. Find more information on how to change your Apple ID.
Tap Settings > General > Date & Time. Make sure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone. If Set Automatically is on but the wrong time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
Enable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to a different Wi-Fi network (in a different location) if a cellular data connection is not available.
You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID by following these steps.
Tap Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
Tap Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • How do I get calendars on my iMac, iPad and iPhone to sync automatically over wifi?

How do I configure my imac, ipad2 iphone 4s and my wife's ipad2 so that the calendars on all of them will sync automatically?  I would like to have them all update whenever a change is made on any one without having to connect each to the imac and syncing calendars using itunes.  Thanks, Bruce

    That is what iCloud does.
You need to be logged into the same iCloud account on each device, you also need to have calendar syncing enabled on each device in your iCloud settings. Once you have done this, your calendars should sync as you require.
