I updated my java 7.u10 to 7.u11 couple days ago.
It's working on IE, but not on Google Chrome and the other browsers.
I re-installed Google Chrome, re-installed java, but neither worked.
I'm clueless.
Everytime after I re-installed java I get this message:

... neither jre7u10 nor jre7u11 are working ... and they are BOTH broken with the same problem ... "Java(TM) Platform" pliugin is missing from the plug-in list. It cannot be enabled, because it simply is NOT there. A suggestion was made the jre7u12 will be the "fix" for this issue ... so I installed the Update 12 Preview and it sis ALSO broken, no "Java(TM) Platform" in the plug-in list.
The ONLY Java version that actually works for me is jre7u9.
As far as installing Firefox 64bit ... I see no future in installing a browser that has been discontinued.

No, you would have to send it to someone you know in the USA and have them take it to any AppleStore and do an out-of-warranty replacement for $199 USD. Apple will not accept a shipment from your and the warranty is not international.

The iPhone HAS to be active making calls on the UK carrier network for the carrier to identify as "theirs" and therefore eligible for the Carrier to unlock
The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier

ASk your friend who unlock the phone for him/her.
ONly the carrier that the phone is locked to is authorized to unlock it.
bAse on your description, it sounds like your friend had his/her phone hacked to unlock it from the original carrier.

Last time I had to deal with discourteous, uneducated, unhelpful, and downright rude customer service reps (who, by the way, seemed to ignore the fact that I had set up an appointment). Once the issue was finally acknowledged, I had to erase all content in my phone. I could have done that on my own. This time, the update has made my phone completely inoperable, so I can't even call or be called by Apple support?! This is absolutely unacceptable. 1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.

That means your phone was hacked...updating software or restoring the phone will re-lock it to the carrier it was originally locked to. Your phone was NOT officially unlocked.
