HT1947 Having trouble connecting Remote app to iTunes on Windows 8 system. Cannot see devices in same network. Is this a Windows issue?
I have a Windows 8 system running iTunes 11.0.2.26 with an iPad 3rd gen. running Remote app. All units on the same network and subnet. When I bring up iTunes on the windows system, I cannot see any devices, i.e. my iPad. I can ping all connected devices including the iPad from Windows 8 box. Is this a Win8 issue talking to iTunes? Can't seem to crack this nut...

When I use Remote Desktop and use the Public IP of the router without the port number (49250), I am able to get into the server. However, when I try to use RDP with the [Public IP]:49250, it will not connect to the 192.168.0.30 workstation.
Right now the router is program to forward port 49250 requests to the 0.30 workstation.
I am going to work on the Inbound/Outbound Firewall settings today and see if this will resolve the issue.

I'm having trouble connecting to apps, itunes store, internet on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4. I am currently connected to a perfectly running WiFI connection. This just started happening today (2/19/14)! Why am I not able to connect anything? I've tried ALL the fixes suggested. HELP!!!!!!!!! BTW, I know my Wi-Fi connection is good because I'm using it on my desktop and other people in my office are also connected on their iPhones and desktops. Again, HELP!!!!
You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPhone a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -

Having trouble connecting my ipod to iTunes and mac
Today my ipod decided to stop working altogether and not play anything. Literally, I was listening to a song and the next song never played. Couldn't figure out why, so I came on here and tried the 5 R's.
I want to restore my ipod (because obviously nothing else I did, worked), but I can't even connect it to my MacBook Pro, let alone, see it in itunes. I just want to see of restoring it might actually fix it before I do anything involving the apple store.
There's all sorts of threads about having troubles connecting ipods to PC's, but nothing I could find about connecting them to Macs.
I know for sure the USB wire is fine. I downloaded the new version of itunes and blah blah blah...it's definitely all the ipod, but I can't seem to come up with any other solution than to go to an apple store.
I only bought this within the last year and just recently started using it on a regular basis.

If that works, connect it to the Mac. See if it is now recognized by the Mac and iTunes. If it is, use Restore to erase the iPod and initialize its software. -
Anyone know how to turn on Apple mobile device on a windows computer. I connected my phone and it was recognized initially then when I performed an update to Itunes it no longer recognized my phone.

I have an iPad2 and an iPad mini that bought and use primarily in the US. I am currently in vacation and found that I cannot access the App Store in either Dubai or Mumbai.
EVery time I try to update an existing app or purchase a new app I get an error: Cannot connect to iTunes Store.
I have full network connectivity on both my devices. In fact I am creating this discussion from of my device.
I had a conversation with a service rep at my local App Store before leaving on vacation, if my iPads will work fine or if I needed to do something. I was assured that my iPads would all work fine as long as I registered them with my same Apple ID.
Can somebody explain to me why am I seeing this problem and what should I do to be able to access the App Store.

Trouble connecting to apps and iTune store.
Have new iPad. I can get connected to internet, but can't get on the App store. AFter lots of "thinking", message is " can't connect to iTunes store. I have an account (opened from another computer, and have a user ID). Any advice. One friend suggested I have an older version router and must have a newer version WPA instead of WEP. Feedback?? DW

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Having trouble connecting iPod Touch with iTunes 8.2
I have a first generation iPod Touch 16GB, before the recent 8.2 iTunes update (or it may have been 8.0, I tend to ignore those annoying 'please update now messages')my iTunes worked properly, and the Touch would sync whenever I connected it.
Now when I connect the iPod to my computer it no longer shows up in iTunes, the computer (running Windows Vista Basic) recognizes the iPod is there, and the iPod charges properly. iTunes itself however is oblivious.
I've tried completely reinstalling iTunes like the support page suggests, but the problem persists, it is getting quite annoying now since I cannot get the new 3.0 OS update or put new music on.
Can anybody help?I have the same problem, but mine won't even take a charge from the computer, or my docks. I have to plug it into a wall wart usb charger and then it works fine. Can't get my computer to recognize/sync it since the "upgrade" to 8.2. The only responses worth a crap on this topic say to just be patient because it is now a known bug they are working on. IMO I wish Apple would stop acting like MS and stop releasing stuff that hasn't been properly beta tested. This glitch has occurred for thousands of users, and any basic cross platform testing process should have revealed this problem in the first 5 minutes. Yet ANOTHER embarrassing POS from the "new" Apple.

Having trouble connecting seagate central to iTunes 12?
I have just purchased a seagate central 2TB and have copied all of my music files to the public music folder. This is supposed to show up as a shared library in iTunes (version 12) but nothing is appearing? Any suggestions?
I have had the Seagate Central for almost a year and iTunes stopped recognizing the shared music folder when it upgraded from 12.0 to 12.1. From the little research I did last month, it looks like other NAS media servers were affected by the upgrade too. There might be a better solution, but downgrading iTunes back to 12.0 worked for me.

HP Connected remote app for iPhone
I don't see the HP Connected Remote app on iTunes. Does HP realize it is not there?
OK... so you bought a HP computer... what is the model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question.
Just so you understand... the "HP Connected Remote app" available on Apple iTunes is only for Apple iPhones. This app needs to installed if, and only if, you want to stream data from your HP computer to your iPhone. You don't download this application from iTunes to install it on your HP Computer.
There is also an Android version available on Google's Play Store for Android devices.
If your HP computer came with Windows 8, it should have come with "HP Connected Remote" already installed. If not, you should be able to download the software HERE.

Having trouble maintaining remote desktop connection with Mavericks. What is this about needing RDC 3.7.1 with Mavericks. I downloaded RDC 3.7.1 but it does not replace RDC 2.1.0 previously installed
Lucky you, it did not work for many users (which as it should be) so MS produced a new version, for ML and Mavericks.
It's in the App Store, for free.
FYI, I assume that you were attempting to post a picture, no one can see it (except maybe you) because it is on your computer rather than the forum server.

I'm having trouble connecting my iphone to my itunes on my computer
So for christmas I got an iPhone and currently, I'm having trouble connecting my iPhone to my iTunes on my computer. If I get on my computer and open my iTunes, I can use it perfectly fine but once I tried to connect my phone to it, it told me the software needed to be updated before it would work with my phone. I went to the website and tried downloading the updated version 10 times but every time it told me it couldn't connect with an apple device or something. So then I tried just going to my downloads and stuff and moving the actual song straight to my phone but it would always tell me my device has ended or has been disconnected. All I'm trying to do is move some songs onto my phone from my computer. They weren't purchased straight from iTunes so it's not showung up in my "purchased" on my phone. (I think I got them from amazon and some are cds that I my computer that I got years ago. Maybe thats why they don't show up in the purchased?) Anyway, how can I fix this? I have a windows computer if that can help at all. Thanks!!!
Also, I just opened my iTunes on my computer then plugged my phone to the computer and a box popped up saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started"
I have no idea what that means.
I don't have that option on the side that says what device is connected so I can't sync or anything. -

The install seemed to go fine, it rebooted and the only APPLE app I can use is Safari and Itunes, The Mac Apple store freezes, Ibooks, Iphoto etc, all of them just lock up when I open them, even drop down items under the little Apple are frozen. I'm disgusted, any help would be appreciated.
