HT1947 How do I save a shared song to my device?

I have turned on home sharing and even downloaded the remote app so I have access to my desktop itunes library. I can stream but is there any way to save a song from the shared library onto my device?

Hi del5662009. This should explain more. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2011/11/06/ios-5-delete-songs-music-app/. And even after you delete a song from your idevice, it will stay in the cloud. Sorry for my poor spelling in the last post. Hope this helps! Cheers.

how to save mp3 song and then transfer to itune library? i keep coping to library but its not showing up

Download it to your computer and make sure you know where the file is.
Right-click the file, choose Properties and look at the General tab. Make sure the "Type of file" is "MPEG Layer 3 audio file" and that the "Size" is at least several MB.
    Are we good so far?
If so, find your Automatically Add to iTunes folder (which is inside the iTunes Media folder) and drag your MP3 into it.

  • How do I save an emailed song to my phone?

My husband emailed me a song.  I would like to save it to my library.  How can I do this?
The song emailed to me is a song from his band.  I would just buy it on iTunes but they're music isn't on iTunes.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

Thank you for your response.  My husband and I do not share the same Apple ID so I don't think he will be able to sync a song from his Apple ID to mine.
You don't sync the song from an AppleID. AppleID is simply used to make purchases.
Log into the computer with your computer login, open the email and save the song to your iTunes library then sync your iPhone.

  • How do i save my nano songs in iTunes?

I received my nano as a gift with about 150 songs on it. What I want to do is save these songs in my iTunes, but can't figure out how. There seems to be plenty of info on how to save iTunes songs on my nano, but not the other way around. Can I do this? Can anyone offer any help?
    Thanks!

That is because it is intentionally not possible in iTunes. I'm pretty sure that whomever gave you the iPod with 150 songs on it did not include the CDs that those 150 songs came from nor buy them under your iTunes account for you specifically, so technically you probably have no right to listen to those songs in the first place.
Stealing music is highly frowned upon in these forums and the people here that know the iPod well enough to help anyone of out most problems won't touch this question with a ten foot pole!
It is best to create your own iTunes library from music you have purchased the right to listen to, and fill your iPod with legal music.

  • How do I save my iTune songs to another hard drive?

I have purchased 418 iTune songs over the years and want to save them to another hard drive in case my computer crashes.
I have tried to do that with my HP Simple Save external hard drive and the songs show up as gibberish.
I see lots of blogs on the internet of people with the same problem.  Surely after having invested in these songs, there
should be a way to make sure they are safe.  HELP!  I am desperate.  Try getting help directly from Apple support.....
impossible.....makes me wish I had used another source.

    Drag them to the drive

  • 120GB dead. Big red X. How can I save my  10000 songs?

Hi guys, I need your help badly.
My iPod classic 120gb died on me. Red x. Computer won't recognize it. I have +10000 songs on that iPOd and that iPod alone. I am a music freak. Some of those songs were really hard to find. And I can't remember 10.000 songs to retrieve them all over again. I really need to have a way to somehow copy those songs from that iPod.
Anyone with ideas? You would have no idea how huge my gratitude would be if someone could find the solution.

    Hi,
I'm probably too late to this conversation but I came across it while looking for a solution to a dead iPod issue I have.
It's not fixed yet but I have been able to backup the hard drive.
The problem is slightly different in that the iPod is just dead. Nothing on screen even with external power.
I found if i took the back cover off, disconnecting the battery and the link to the headphones and removed the battery and reconnected it to the lower left corner where it would normally connect, the iPod would start and allow me access from my PC.

  • I am about to FORMAT my hard drive. How do I save all my songs+artworks?

I thought a smart thing would be transfering all the iTunes music library to my external hard drive but I'm afraid the artwork, rating and songs details I've worked so hard to update - will get lost...
So what are the steps I need to take?
    Many thanks,
    R.

  • I have a fifth gen Ipod and have changed computers. I was not able to transfer all the music over when I created an itunes account on the new computer. How can I save all the songs on my ipod and upload new ones? It wants to sync with my new account.

I have a fifth gen ipod classic. I switched computers and was not able to transfer the songs and pictures over. When I connect my ipod to the computer it wants to sync with it which would delete all my songs and music. Is there a way around this?

See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • TS1373 how can I save my 5000 songs if my ipod is locked up and will not re-set or go into disk mode?

I've been trying to re-set & trying to put my ipod into disk mode with no luck. I have gotten songs from everywhere and have no way of replacing them. What can I do?

Forecast isn't looking good then.  At this point you're only remaining options would be to use some sort of iPod hard drive data recovery service, but that can be expensive and results are not always guaranteed.

  • On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?

On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD on a different computer using Home Sharing? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?

Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers.  To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing.  Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share.  You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons.  Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share.  Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
What makes you think it is resetting, are you sure it is not simply disconnecting.
