HT1947 No landscape orientation in ios7? Is that coming back?

It was a great app before ios7; really easy to use in landscape. Are you bringing that back?

Sorry. I thought this was being read by Apple folks.
I'm referring to the Apple TV remote app for the ipad. Prior to ios7, the app worked in either landscape or portrait. Since the update to ios7, it only works in portrait. It's just so much easier to use it in landscape.
I've got orientation unlocked. Other apps rotate, but not the Apple TV remote app.
Thanks for your reply.

  • Fixed landscape orientation changed to wrong fixed portrait in iOS7 on iPad

    Hi,
I just downloaded iOS7 on my iPad.
iOS7 changed my fixed landscape orientation to wrong fixed portrait orientation in iOS7 on my iPad
for a app I made in Flash CS 5.5.
I didnot have this problem in iOS6.
Did anyone else encounter this problem?
Does anyone know how to repair this for iOS7?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's not correct, you should not be exporting AIR 3.4. The latest is 3.8 and the difference is huge for overall compatibility. Please do not export at 3.4.
    Download the latest AIR SDK:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html
Unzip it anywhere you'd like to save your SDK. I put mine in the Flash CS6 folder  (Note: The 3.8 folder in the pic does not exist, you have to make it and you can call it anything you like. I used 3.8 for clarity and convention.).
If you have CS6 then simply point it to the new SDK (Help->Manage AIR SDK-[+] Button, point to the SDK location)
    e.g.
If you have access to CS6 just use it over CS5.5. If you need to use CS5.5 then you can google plenty of resources on how to properly overlay an AIR SDK on CS5.5.

  • A single report can't combine portrait and landscape oriented pages

    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hi,
Can a single report in Crystal report XI (version 11.5.8.826) combine portriat and landscape oriented pages like Crystal report 2008?   For example, I have one main report with several subreports in the main report.  I want one subreport be in portrait page orientation and the other subreports in landscape.  Can I do something like that in Crystal report XI version?    I even tried writing a small .net program to do this, but it doesn't seem to allow me to do that programmatically either.  Please help

I'd like to elevate this issue with Crystal Reports XI. There is a critical application which we developed in-house which needs both portrait and landscape orientation in each of the 30,000 plus documents we are sending out every month. If developers in Business Objects are picking this thread up - we need a patch for this limitation - quick. Right now, we are toying with the possibility of exporting the documents into a text format with markers indicating if a page is portrait or landscape. This is to be loaded into a Xerox machine (which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars), where it is mapped automatically to portrait or landscape. Note to Business Objects: This will provide us and countless others with much value. Think 80/20 rule - most bang for your development bucks and value for your customers!

  • How to read ibooks on landscape orientation one page at a time on iPhone 6 Plus

How can I force iPhone 6 Plus to show me only one page at the time on landscape orientation on iBooks. Right now it show me one page at the time if it is in portrait orientation but as soon as I turn the phone to landscape orientation it splits and shows me two pages ie page 1 and page 2.

I've looked everywhere I can think of to change the way that iBooks handles this and cannot find an option to change it. If you choose scrolling view then it will not show two columns but then you scroll to read rather than turning "pages."

  • How can I change one section of the document to a landscape orientation and not the whole document?

How can I change one section of the document to a landscape orientation and not the whole document?

Page Setup, including page orientation, is done in the File menu. The setting applies to the whole document. As Peter says, you can rotate the contents of a page (not including the text layer of a word processing document).
As an alternative, you could use Numbers, where Sheets are empty canvases onto which you may place images, charts, tables and text boxes, and where page orientation may be set for individual Sheets. The main tradeoff is that you lose many of the built-in word processing and page layout features of Pages.

  • After updating to iOS 8.0.2 in my iPhone 5S, why does automatic landscape orientation doesn't work?

I recently updated to iOS 8.0.2 in my iPhone 5S. Since that update, landscape orientation doesn't work for any application. I have ensured that the Portrait Orientation lock is Off.

I have a workaround, if you lock then unlock the orientation lock it seems to work again.

  • Not able to print pdf files into landscape orientation

I am working on a R12 imnplementaion where I have to print labels on Zebra printer in landscape orientation using acroread through PASTA printing. Oracle Application uses xml publisher to generate these pdfs.  All the printouts come in portrait orientation even I choose landscape.  I have used acroread version 5 and 9.3.3. Can someone help me on this? I have used below syntaxes:
    I was using
acroread -toPostScript -pairs -shrink -landscape BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PDF BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PS |lp -d label
    and It was not working.
I found a hit on metalink and it says that we should not use –pairs in the command line.  If I remove –pairs, then we can’t pass {inline} {outline} parameters.  Then I have tried all the below commands:
    cat BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PDF |acroread -toPostScript  -landscape |lp -d label
    cat BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PDF |acroread -toPostScript  -shrink -landscape |lp -d label
    Thanks & Regards
    Swadesh

    Hi Swadesh,
    Try using the -rotateAndCenter option.
    cat A.pdf | acroread -toPostScript -shrink -rotateAndCenter | lp -d <PRINTERr>
    OR
    acroread  -toPostScript -pairs -shrink -rotateAndCenter A.pdf - | lp -d <PRINTER>
Let me know if this helps.
    Regards,
    Rishi

  • I have a problem with landscape oriented pages being cut off at 8.5" horizontally, when in Design View.

I am trying to edit a form created in livecycle designer. Some of the pages are in portrait orientation and some in landscape orientation. The problem is that all the landscape oriented pages are cut off at 8.5" horizontally, so I can't edit the part that is cropped off. the full horizontal width of the landscape pages are visible in Preview PDF mode, but not Design View mode. Does anyone know what I need to do to be able to see all of the 11" width of these landscape oriented pages in Design Mode?
    thanks

The following line tells me that this is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
This means that you saved a child document as a template file at some stage.
If you go to Modify->Templates->Detach from Template, you can remove the template structure from your document. All you then need to do is to re-save the document as a template.

  • Word 2007 mail merge : problem with mixed portrait and landscape orientations

    Hi there,
    I have a 3 pages document Word 2007 file
This is a mail merge I want to export in PDF using Adobe Acrobat Printer,
then send "big" PDF to printing.
    page 1 is PORTRAIT
    page 2 is PORTRAIT
    page 3 is LANDSCAPE
In PDF pages 1 and 2 are perfectly fine, inside an A4 format (width=210 height=297mm or something)
but for page 3, system changed to a "double" sized page (A3 width=297 height=420) and printed my stuff at the 1st top middle of big page.
So I have a big "double" sheet, oriented PORTRAIT, with my stuff in 1st half, and a blank in 2nd half.
It seems that system did not rotate the page... and just put the stuff into a bigger sheet to "solve" at best.
I would like the same size of paper (A4) but in landscape : width=297 height=210
I have already seen many PDF with mixed portrait and landscape orientations, so what's the thing ?
    With my advanced thanks,
And greetings from Paris, France !
    Vince

    Some questions:
Which version of office were you using before? 2003?
Are the data files on a network, or on your local machine? If they are on a network, can you make a copy of one of them on your local machine and try again?
Can you open the files directly in Excel? What extension do they have (.xls, or something else?) I am wondering whether access to other file types has been left blocked on your machine but is allowed on your colleague's machine.
Are you just opening the mail merge main document and seeing this message? If so, do you see the same thing if you start with a new document and try to connect to one of these data sources?
Can you confirm that the message is about Access even though you are trying to connect to an Excel file?
(Also, office 2007 has some new stuff - that let's you specify that certain folders are "trusted" . I don't think that ever affected MailMerge but it may be as well to make sure that your documents and data sources are in trusted locations).
Also worth trying to start Word in "Safe mode" - see, e.g. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/work-with-office-safe-modes-HP010140792.aspx

  • PDF with Portait and Landscape Orientation act differently between pages

    Hi,
I have issue when I'm trying to have a landscape orientation in a PDF with another portrait page.
All I want to do is have a small page which indicates instructions on the form because it is a form builder, once the form is created by the user the landscape page gets hidden.
My issue here is that when I set a masterpage to landscape it makes it different to switch between pages.
I can't see more than 1 page at a time, just like it can't show a landscape and portait orientation together in the screen.
I have another form with landscape and portait together and it works fine, but this form doesn't stay normal... There must be something I'm missing...
It is annoying that I can't have more than one page in the screen, once I hit the bottom or the top of the page it switches automatically to the other page.
Please help me on this, I'm trying to figure out what is causing this bug..

    Hi,
I haven't used form builder, but do you still have a viewState, try adding the following line in the docReady event of the form
    event.target.viewState = { pageViewLayoutMode:2 };
This has the same effect as setting Enable Scrolling on the View ... Page Display menu.
A value of 1 would give you the single page view.
    Regards

  • Win Elements 7 won't print in landscape orientation

O.K. my PSE 5 will print in landscape orientation along the length of roll paper with an Epson Stylus 7600, but no matter what combinations I use with PSE 7, and making sure that at all stages the landscape icons/buttons are selected, PSE 7 won't print in anything else than portrait orientation and the image on the print page shows that, as does the print preview if I go to print. What is the issue here? I have tried deleting and reinstalling PSE 7 and also deleting the printer preferences at start up but this has no effect on the problem. I can edit in PSE 7, save the file, then reopen and print with PSE 5 with no problem, but that is not the point. I am using Win XP with 2G of ram and as pointed out, it works fine with PSE 5 with all my photo files.

Are you sure tht settings used re same in PSE5 & PSE7... Are you using Organizer or Editor for Printing?

  • Duplex printing issues with landscape orientation

I have read through all of the previous questions, and can't seem to resolve my problem here.
I am using Acrobat 8 Professional (8.2.2).  I have created a PDF from a Powerpoint presentation.  I need to be able to send this to someone else and have them view it on screen with the correct orientation, and also duplex print it correctly, as all of our company printers default to duplex printing (to save paper).  However, since the person who prints it is going to staple it in the upper left hand corner, it really needs to be duplexed to open along the left edge (the short edge of the paper).
When I first bring up the print screen the document has the incorrect orientation; i.e. it shows a thumbnail of an 8.5 x 11" page in portrait orientation, and my content is reduced in size to fit the 8.5 width.  I think this is really the issue at hand--for some reason, even though the page is set up in Powerpoint as a 8.5x11 landscape oriented document, when it exports to the PDF format, that orientation doesn't hold.
Anyway, it seems that no matter what settings I try to adjust, it doesn't seem to work.  I have toggled "Auto-Rotate and Center," I have toggled the duplex settings in the PDF document properties.  I have toggled the duplex print settings on my printer driver between "Open to Left" and "Open to Top."  None of it seems to make any difference in the final printout--basically what comes out of my printer is a document that is rotated to print out as if it was a portrait page, and is bound on the left edge (so each second page is printed upside down, when I am looking at it in landscape orientation).
The only work-arounds I can think of would be to rotate every other page in the PDF so that when it printed it printed correctly.  However, then the PDF would not be readable on the screen.  I could generate two separate versions of the PDF, one marked for print, and the other for viewing--but that is a real waste.
Does anyone have any suggestions here?  I am looking for a way either to get the PDF software to "understand" that this document is a landscape document from the get-go (then it SHOULD work to duplex print correctly with the "Open to Left" setting), or maybe create a custom print setting for this document that allows me to rotate every other page as it is printed, but that doesn't rotate the pages on the screen.
I hope this is all clear...and that someone can offer some advice.
    Thanks!
    Melise
P.S.  Just in case it makes any difference, I am running Windows XP Professional and am using the Microsoft Office 2007 software package.  Because the company has multiple different printers throughout the company, I need a solution that will work without regards to the specific printer driver.

I am having the exact same issue.  The setting of "Auto-Rotate and Center" has no affect.
Do I have to rotate the odd pages 180 so they are upside down in the PDF, but print correctly?
I am using Acrobat 9 Pro V. 9.3.3 in Win 7 Pro 64, to HP CP6015XH (colour laser).

  • Landscape oriented PDF prints only in Portrait mode

I have a reporting application which displays to the user reports in PDF, some of them are in landscape orientation, but when the user prints the reports, they are fitted (shrunk) into a portrait orientation page. This is happening with Firefox 19 and the new embedded PDF viewer. Is there a way to resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

I'm not asking for compensation I was making a point.
A lot of the modern world rely on the internet and the tools provided to access it.
A lot of company who have customers use the web to communicate or work with them, they sell applications or offer services based on the web technologies, they rely on the browsers used by their customers but can't impose them. So we rely on the seriousness of the browser regarding compliance to standards.
I always trusted Mozilla and Firefox to be leaders in this field.
I think that nonetheless the EULA we have right to have a compliant products so when a functionality replace without the will of the customer a working functionality it will 1) be compliant with the standard, 2) work as or better the element it replace. That is not the case with PDF.js.
A lot of browser users are not used with tweaking parameters or settings to get back to something which was working.
But be real PDF.js is not providing the services it's made for, it's a wor in progress ok! but it's a default feature, not a choice, and it breaks sites or applications functionalities that was working before it, that just my point. My PDF are working just fine with the acrobat reader plugin (for 3 years) and yes I'm upset because every thing was working and clients are now complaining that it does not work anymore. It's like with IE for ten years we are forced to find work arounds. The difference is that IE never worked like it should so we never trusted it but we trusted Firefox, which seems to be becoming less reliable.
Have I the power to easily switch all the applications users to a more PDF compliant browser I will.
