Video playlist and random and repeat play don't work anymore on my Apple TV (latest version 5.1.1 (5433)) with my iPhone.
My Mac Pro's (retina) iTunes also updated to the latest version 11.

i have been having the same problem too since 2-3 days and i am really worried... pls revert back asap. i bought my bbcurve 9300 in march 2011. n i dnt wanna lose it for sm othr new fon.. plz revert back..its really urgnt

Volume and brightness buttons don't work anymore

I did a complete restore from factory DVD and since then the volume and brightness buttons don't work anymore. I have an All-in-One AE1900. Anybody can help me fix this problem? Since I do not have the original keyboard anymore, I can't use the hot key combination to do it. Thanks for your help.

I've had this same problem, but when I am using "Parallels" to run windows programs on my new Macbook Air, with an external Mac LED Cinema Display, the brightness keys on the external apple keyboard do not work. Sound seems to work fine. They work fine in Mac mode.
Any solutions?

can't open mail after installing yosemite

IMessage and Facetime account don't work anymore in my macbook (Yosemite)

Currently using Yosemite 10.10.3, I can use the iMessages account on different iphones and ipad I own, even a new one just configured.
On my Macbook (I think since Yosemite beta upgrade but not really sure) can't login the imessages account anymore ( I can use other accounts like Google, Bonjour, etc...). I was using imessages for a long time on the same Macbook with Maverick.
Now I get a login error: Can't access, verify network connection and retry, etc... but the network is ok and I'm using correct credentials, the same I use on apple store and apple web site.
On Facetime login I can't get any answer and keeps waiting for login (using the correct or even an incorrect password).
Any suggestion ?

This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are many possible causes for it. Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. That could be a public Wi-Fi hotspot, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or at your ISP, not in your computer.
Step 1
Check the status of the service. If the service is down, wait for it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
Step 2
Sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your Apple devices. Log out and log back in. Try again to sign in.
Step 3
Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. You may have to skip this step if you don't control those devices.
Step 4
From the menu bar, select
           ▹ About This Mac
Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or invalid according to this web form, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
Step 5
Take the steps suggested in this support article. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.
Step 6
From the menu bar, select
           ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If the box marked SOCKS Proxy is checked, uncheck it. You don’t need to change any other settings in the window. Click OK and then Apply. Test.
The result may be that you can't connect to the Internet at all. Revert the change if that happens, or if iMessage still doesn't work. Remember that you must Apply any changes you make in the preference pane before they take effect.
Step 7
Select from the menu bar
           ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
and click
          Block all sites from storing information on this computer
Close the preference pane.
Step 8
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with iMessage. Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to find and delete all items with "iMessage" or "com.apple.idms" in the name. Log out and log back in.
Step 9
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.
Step 10
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you start up, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound outputand Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. After testing, restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.
If iMessage worked in safe mode, but still doesn't work when you restart in "normal" mode, stop here and post your results.
Step 11
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.apsd.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Step 12
Reset the NVRAM.
Step 13
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).
Step 14
Reinstall OS X.
Step 15
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple Support. When you set up a support call, select "Apple ID" as the product you need help with, not the hardware model. That way, if you're not under AppleCare, you may be able to talk your way out of being charged for the call.

Spotlight and Finder searches don't work anymore...

For 2 weeks or maybe more, the search function haven't work anymore, via Spotlight or the Finder...
Spotlight doesn't even seem to try, whereas the Finder keeps saying it is searching... but it never finds anything even if I ask for a file that directly is in the folder where it is searching...
Does anyone have any idea ?

I've got another problem too. Maybe both are tied, that's why I'll explain it :
Sometimes, I am not able to rename a folder or a file... When I try to delete the name, it just doesn't work... And sometimes, it works properly...
For example, yesterday, I created a new folder automatically called "New folder", and I couldn't change the name !
But today, it has worked properly. But the problem happens so often, that today really is an exception...

HT1338 question: videos stop and start playing, don't run continuous

What can I do to make downloaded videos work properly> Right now, they start and stop every few seconds.

Depending on the format of the video it may play better with VLC media player. VLC seems to play anything.
Of course if you're DLing while playing it is buffering.

Report and Notification Settings don't work anymore

I uptaded to the last version (4.3.5) and my apps don´t work anymore. Is it a bug? Apple should odo something because I lost all the progress I had in games and, basically, only 3 or 4 apps are working.

I think Apple should do something, because I lost progress of one year and a half after purchasing iPhone. What kind of software stability is this when you lose perfomance when it was supposed to be the opposite?!

Try downloading any free app to resync your iTunes account.
Also, you should be regularly syncing and backing up your iPhone so if you do have a problem, you can restore with your backup. The iPhone is a computer and computers have been know to fail from time to time. No device is perfect.

Enable 3G and phone calls don´t work anymore

hi there, as soon as i enable 3G for internet, it´s impossible to use the phone for calls, there are horrible noises to hear for the person who calls me or/and nothing to hear for me. when 3G is disabled there is no problem!
I had this problem even before updating to 3.1
Any help?

Installer.app and software update don't work anymore

hi there,
i just repaired my hd using diskwarrior, which was succesful. now i tried to get some updates installed, but just at the start of the process for every .pkg file i tried, installer says there was a problem and that i have to try again. of course, trying again doesn't help.
that problem, which also includes software update in the very same way, already existed before i fixed my drive with diskwarrior. it was the initial reason i ran a disk repair.
any ideas, especially any that don't involve reinstalling os x?
before, the system had been running fine for several years.

How do I transfer my iTunes library with the playlists and song plays from a PC to a MAC

I just recently got a MacBook and I'd like to transfer my iTunes library as well as the playlists and song plays over to this computer and i was wondering how i should go about doing so.
I've found a few tutorials on how to edit the .xml files but I haven't really succeeded in doing so.

Use an external HDD and copy the entire iTunes folder from the original computer to the Mac and place it in ~/Music.

I dont get sound for videos, games and music but ringtone still works. When i press volume buttons on side of phone i only get the picture of the nell and no little dots underneath. This is on my iphone 4s and ipad. It happened at the same time.

Recurring theme with the 4s losing alerts except for the phone ringing. Most complaints seem to center on the 7.1 upgrade. The fix is dodgy, putting in a charger, playing a you tube video then pulling out the charger and wiggling it until you get the sound back. When you get the sound back, the volume buttons start to work again. Alternate solutions involve cleaning the docking port with a toothbrush, running a pick over the electrodes etc.

I dropped my ipad mini and the left side got dented .. so the volume buttons and the mute is not working anymore .... and when i am playing games the volume automatically goes up... i still have warranty .. so does apple replace a new one?

Play Slideshow and Subscribe links don't work in IE

Hi, I published a site with the newest version of iWeb and the Play Slideshow and Subscribe links don't work for my friends who use IE. Also, only some of the pictures will open when clicked. Many of them do nothing when clicked.
Here's an example:

The site works with Safari and Firefox (both Mac and PC) but people with several different versions of IE experience the same problem.
Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Thanks for your reply. The problem is the whole page is one image and there should be several clickable areas which point to different links.
To solve this we have put a textbox over the clickable area, disabled the background and stroke and then right clicked on the textbox and used the hyperlink option to turn the whole box in to a hyperlink.
We tried several free PDF convertors which couldn’t handle this combination. Then we trailed it with the full desktop version of Adobe Acrobat Pro and it worked a treat. Unfortunately the client didn’t have that software so we signed them up to the online PDF convertor from Adobe and that isn’t handling it.
