HT1977 no apps showing in my library

How do I sync podcasts and music from my itunes account to my ipod nano. Apple virgin so am very confused.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Syncing your iPod....>Sync You Device and follow the instructions.

Are the apps checked to be synced to the iPod and did you click on the sync button in Tunes?
Were the apps purchased fro the same accoubnt signed into in the iPod?
Are the apps compatible witht he iPOd model and iOS version?
Do you have restrictions set that prohibit instaling apps?

I have tv shows in my library but when I try to put them on my ipad it doesn't show the tv shows in to sync

I have recently reinstalled itunes on to my laptop. I have tv shows in my library which i downloaded from itunes but when I try and sync them to my ipad it doesn't show them in the sync page. can anyone help ?

Have you tried closing the iBooks app completely and seeing if it works ok when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e.not with the iBooks app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If neither of the above work then you could also try deleting the app and re-installing it - as long as the books are still in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

How to restore my iPhone apps into new iTunes library ??

I formated my PC recently and forgot to backup my iTunes library,when new login to iTunes on formated PC, the "Apps" page still can see all my Iphone Apps that installed before but all the apps icon on right hand side show in non active icon, when I tick the "Sync Apps" on the top left corner, the box "Are you want to Sync apps ? All existing apps and their data on the iphone " x's iphone" will be replace with apps from this iTunes library" , means if i click "Sync Apps" all my previous apps will gone !!! Anybody know how to restore the apps from my iPhone to iTunes library, so i can continue to Sync new apps while maintain my old apps.

for my case, after Authorize Computer just click "file" from iTunes and select [Transfer Purchases from "x's iPhone"] , the iTunes will start transfer your iPhone apps to iTunes library. simple ...

Wired iphone to my computer -opened itunes signed in - clicked on iphone tab at the top- then
What I was missing was to select Apps icon . (before i did this it only shows all what's in your library and you can't select any of them.)
When I did this a list of all my apps in my itunes library came up on the left hand side. The app icon pictures were in view and also a tab saying install . I was able to select what I wanted .
when I click them the tab said installing
I checked my iphone It showed them. also the bar in itunes shows a striped bar indication how long they will take.
wait until this bar as completed before disconnecting the wire.

Almost all my songs play except for about 8 or 9.

If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Make Messages app show names and pictures by default in groups

Is there any way to make the Messages app show names and pictures by default in groups? It's kind of annoying to have to set that every time. I'm hoping Yosemite may add this option.

It should stay set.
Should be this Menu item.
To get the options to be dark and usable then Messages window need to be "front".
The Buddy Names item above is for the name display in the Buddy Lists.
If it is not sticking then check that you have Read and Write Permissions to the com.apple.ichat.plist in ~/Library/Preferences.
Since Lion this Folder has been hidden.
Use the Finder > Go menu > Go to Folder and copy and past the ~/Library/Preferences
FInd the File then Right click it and chose Get Info.
In the info Panel, near the bottom, your shortname should appear with (me) next to it.
You should have Read and Write permissions.

HT203477 Why does my computer quit unexpectedly when I click on "Show the Project Library" in Final Cut Pro X ?

Hello,
When I click on "Show the Project Library" on Final Cut Pro X program, my computer unexpectedly quits.
I just purchased an iMac 27in screen, (16G Ram) and all the features suggested by the Apple representative to run Final Cut Pro X.
The program was working well for about a week. Afterward, I downloaded all my iMovie projects. I'm wondering if that has created this problem.
Any suggestions as to what the solution might be? Thanks.

Over the year I've used FCPX, it' s gone through "spells" where specific actions would crash it - much as you describe. Trashing preferences has nearly always fixed things. Several times, when it did not, I reinstalled the app.
However, I've never imported an iMovie project so I can't give any first hand advice. It will be interesting to see whether FCPX opens if it doesn't see those projects. (per Tom Wolsky's advice.)

The first thing to do: Make a backup of your iPhoto Library. Don't update iPhoto without having a backup of your iPhoto library.
When I tried I received the following message This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
This error message means, that you did not yet associate your copy of iPhoto (preinstalled on your Mac) with your AppleID by clicking the "accept" button at AppStore "Purchased" page.
First try to "Accept" iPhoto on the Purchased tab and try, if you then can update iphoto from the Updates tab.
Now check the "Purchased" tab. Is iPhoto among your Purchases to "Accept" or "Install"? Then accept and/or install.
If it is not possible, delete iPhoto from the Applications folder .
(don't empty the Trash).
If it is not among your Purchases, open the AppStore main tab, search for iPhoto using the Search field, and buy it from the AppStore. If you already owned any version of iPhoto '11, this purchase should be free, from earlier versions it may be a paid upgrade.

I can delete the existing software and re-install but I don't want to lose all my photos.
Your photos are in your iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder and not in the iPhoto application. Just back up the iPhoto Library as a precaution, but reinstalling iPhoto will not delete your iPhoto Library.

There are no apps showing in Privacy Photos, Contacts, etc. HELP!!!

I'm on iPhone 4, iOS 6. There are no apps showing in Privacy > Photos, Contacts, etc even if I have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & other photo apps installed. Photos taken from the apps don't get saved to Camera Roll. Apps can't access Photo Library.
When I try to access my Photo library from within any app, it says "This app does not have access to your photos or videos. You can enable access in Privacy Settings."
I go to Privacy > Photos and there are no apps there unlike in my friends' iPhones. It just says "Apps that have requested access to your photos will appear here."
This is the same problem with my Contacts related apps. I have apps like Viber and What's App.
Similary, there are no apps showing in Privacy > Calendars, Reminders, Bluetooth.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

That can be an indication that there is no iPhoto app found in the Applicaiton folder to open the library with. Make sure your iPhoto.app is in the Applications folder and not in a sub folder. Also make sure the app works as TD has already suggested. If it doesn't you'll need to reinstall iPhoto.

Apps show on laptop but do not appear on iphone - just blank spaces

I have a few apps which worked when I 1st got them but now do not show on the iphone; however they still show on the laptop, even after I delete them from the library they reappear when I sync the phone. It is as if the icon has disappeared on the iphone but it is still there in the background somewhere, although it does not work. But blank spaces are there on the iphone where the apps were placed. It happened to pic2shop and aroundme apps. How can I get them to show on the iphone and work again? I have tried downloading them again and also doing a reset, and even deleting them from the mac, but I can't delete them from the iphone. Help!!

This is the proper way to completely remove an app from your itunes library:
1. Click on Applications on the left hand side of the iTunes window.
2. Locate the application and either "right-click" or "Control-click" and choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
3. Select "Remove" when asked if you want to remove the selected application from your iTunes library.
4. Select "Move to Trash" when asked if you want to move the selected application to the Trash.
5. Empty your trash.
Then, sync your phone to completely remove the app from your phone. If you get a prompt to transfer purchases regarding the phantom apps on your phone, decline.
