HT200047 How to buy English language programs from French iTunes store

As I am currently in France for several months I have been forced to switch to the French iTunes store to purchase television programs I'm missing.
Unfortunately the ones I want to watch (eg Doctor Who) only come dubbed in French or with subtitles obscuring the screen.
There is no obvious method to switch to English.
I'd also like to catch up on some Australian television shows, but these just aren't available through the French store.
What can I do?

For books you need to use a source which has negotiated rights to a wider selection of materials. Try Amazon and the Kindle app.
As far as iTunes is concerned, tell Apple what you want fixed here:

The Youtube app was removed by Apple in iOS6.  You can use either the iPhone app from Youtube (free in the app store, but you've got to set it at 2x), or go to www.youtube.com in a Safari web browser.  You can also add the web page to your Home Screen using the share feature.  It will then operate just like an app.

  • Ability to buy unique local content from other iTunes stores

    Hi,
I recently realized that iTunes store that looked modern and incredible only few years ago now does not serve my needs.
Let me explain in details and may be this information can help Apple to improve their store and meet my needs.
    I am 44 years old.
I was born in Moscow Russia back in 1969.  My childhood and my youth years were in Soviet Union and in Russia.
After graduating from university my first job was in Singapore. I lived in Singapore with my family for 12 years. My two daughters were born there.
Right now my family and I are residents of Canada.
As you can see,  there are few significant portions of our lives bonded to different cultures.
I believe we are not unique. The World is small. People goes to school in one country, goes to university in another, works and getting married in third and settles down and retires in fourth…
iTunes store provides great possibility for us to download music, songs, movies… but only from the iTunes store of the country we live.
Apple dictates what we can or can not listen and watch using iTunes by its unfair policy:
REQUIREMENTS FOR USE OF THE ITUNES SERVICE
*The iTunes Service is available to you only in Canada, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance.*
I could understand why Apple does this. Because the same HD movies can be sold for $20 in one country and for $10 in another and Apple does not want people to switch stores and get a better deal.
But I am talking about completely different issue here.
Each country produces exclusive media content which is purely local.
This could be a localized version of Disney cartoon or a song in local language.
What I really want is to be able to download any exclusive local content from any iTunes store around the World.
The price can be different and it could be related to where I live. That's fair.
What is not fair is for Apple to tell me that I can not download russian movies and russian songs from a russian iTunes store because I am no longer live in Russia.
Here is what Apple  can do to resolve this issue:
    1. Provide different audio language sound tracks for movies.
If I am buying a Disney movie from Canadian iTunes store I would like to be able to buy it in English, French and Russian. Because my family members have different preferred language. You can charge for additional sound track a small amount, say $1.99
I does not cost anything and no content needs to be produced. It's just the way you package it.
    2. Allow to mark iTunes content as an Exclusive local content. For instance a russian folk song or a russian documentary.
Make a special section "Russian exclusive content"  or "Singapore exclusive content" etc
Allow anyone in any country to buy this content.
All this makes perfect economical sense and also fair to your customers.
Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated.
I hope this information is useful to improve iTunes store in future.

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here. I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post.
It's not Apple's choice where to sell an item, the content providers control that. All content is licensed to Apple to sell by the content providers on a country-by-country basis, so each country has to have its own store - if the record company, film studio etc was happy for the item to be in your country's store then they will grant Apple a license to have it there. Similarly it's up to the film studio to put extra audio tracks and/or subtitles on their films.
If there is a particular film etc that you would like to be added to your country's store then you try requesting that it be added, but utlimately it's the content provider's choice : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • HT201272 Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store

Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.

Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.
If you aren't in a country where music can be re-downloaded then you could try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page,

  • In iTunes 11 how do you get Genius recommendations from the iTunes store

In iTunes 11 how do you get Genius recommendations from the iTunes store. It would appear that I can only get Genius recommendations from my own library. This was easy in iTunes 10 and enabled me to find lots of good artists I had never heard of.

I have this same question and all I have found on it is this,
    http://ipod.about.com/od/advanceditunesuse/ss/genius_store.htm
Basically it seams they got rid of the whole side bar concept of things to make it all more streamline, understandable but I know atleast for myself that genius sugestion for any song is how I found new artists and songs I never knew existed.
If you go to the Album the go to "In the Store" it will give you a recomendation for that album... not exaclty what you might be looking for but atleast its something, if anyone else has a way to get genius sugestions for individual songs I am all ears and would love to hear about it.

  • How can I get films purchased from the iTunes store to work on my new iPod classic?

I have recently purchased a new iPod classic, everything works accept it will not play films. At first I thought it was a problem with the films I was trying to put on as they were from my computer; but after purchasing some films from iTunes it still keeps saying that they cannot be played on this device. Please help as I have spent money on films I otherwise cannot watch.
    Any advice is welcome.

    Hey Shelly29,
It sounds like you might be trying to sync HD videos to your iPod classic.
HD videos purchased from the iTunes Store are compatible with iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), Apple TV, and computers. You may need to download your purchased video from iTunes in the Cloud in a lower resolution for your device.
You'll want to check out the following article to resolve the issue, specifically the "Download previously purchased content in a lower resolution" section:
iTunes: Sync purchased HD videos to iPod or iOS device

  • How do I delete my podcast from the itunes store?

I submitted a podcast to iTunes, but have since deleted the account on the website I was using to host the podcast. Whenever I try to use the report a concern option to delete the podcast from the iTunes store, it tells me to go to the RSS feed and change it, but I cannot do this since I have deleted the account to the website where I would change the RSS feed. What should I do?

Email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to remove the podcast, explaining that you cannot access the feed. In any case, as I assume the feed is no longer accessible by iTunes, the podcast will get removed eventually anyway.

  • How do I download previous purchases from the itunes store to my i tunes account speciffically Audiobooks more than 1 year old? They don't show up in my purchase history.

I have been trying to download previously purchased Audiobooks from the itunes store to my new computer and ipad. I tried calling the apple help line but they want me to spend $69.99 for the help plan. these purchases are over a year old and on my old ipod now i want them on my new devices. I am starting to get very irritated!!  please help.

Are you running the most current version of iTunes? If you are, you should be able to go into the iTunes Store, and click on Purchased under the Quick Links. (You have to be signed on, and the computer has to be authorized to do this). Once you have selected the Purchased from the Quick Links, you should see a tab for Books - your audiobooks should show up there and be available for downloading.
This is all assuming that you sync'd those books to the iTunes library on your computer. If you have not, you will need to sync the iPod first....
    Cheers,

  • How to buy a MacBook Pro from the Online Store

Well, I'm Indian, and apple does not have an apple store in India(not even an online one). I need the new MacBook pro with 16 Gigs of ram in it.
I do regularly travel to Australia and am considering buying one from their online store. But it asks for an AUSTRALIAN CARD. Did I just get something wrong or I need an Australian Credit card(if that's the case, I'm screwed). Also can I use an international credit card or am I done for????

You could also try contacting an Apple retail store in Australia and see what their policy is for an in-store purchase and if you can reserve a unit for when you are traveling there.

  • HT201272 How to fix a bad download from the itunes store

How do I fix an issue with songs that downloaded, but won't play properly?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • How to get to Movie Trailers from Canadian iTunes store?

It's been a while since I logged in to the iTunes store to watch a movie trailer, so at first (after searching all over the "home" page) when I couldn't find the link anymore, I assumed that maybe they had removed Theatrical trailers from the store all together. But, when I went to the Quicktime site, there is a link to High-Def trailers for the iTunes store!
Anyway, after scrounging around a bit, it seems that in the U.S., because there is a "Movies" link on the home page, which then leads to a "Theatrical Trailers" link, it is possible to get to the trailers. In the Canadian version, there is no "Movies" link, and no way of getting to the trailers (besides logging out of your account, switching countries, etc. etc.)
Am I missing something or is this a mistake?
Any help would be appreciated - maybe there is an obvious link I am missing.

Now when I open up itunes it doesnt even show the movie that I downloaded in the movies section I tried to sync it earlier but it didnt do anything, I have no idea what to do now Please help

  • How much ram can be downloaded from the ITunes store using 3G?

I'm wanting to download some music apps/composing programs and wasn't able to download one because of 3G size/ram restrictions. I don't see any place on the app info site that tells me about the size, so I don't know until I'm actually downloading whether I can download or not. Is there a way to tell the size of the app if it's not posted on the ITune store? I'd rather not do partial downloads. ITunes was kind enough to get rid of Pages and I Am Symphony for me.
Another related issue because it's about a music app: It gave me a prompt when I first tried to. use it that I didn't have enough memory. I knew that couldn't be right since I have the 64g/3G/wifi model, so I ditched that app.
Is this what you can memory drain? I read about that on this forum? what's the best thing to do for that? restart? or did I do the right thing by ejecting the app?

Regards the size of apps the actual size of the apps is listed on iTunes
Secondly you seem to be getting storage capacity/app size mixed up with RAM. They are two different things. The 64GB you have on your iPad is for actual storage of content whether it be apps, books, music, podcasts, video etc. RAM is the volatile memory that is used during the running of the iPad including the apps.
The system requirements including the amount of RAM needed to run are not simply because unlike computers all iPads are the same regards the internal system specs. The only differences being the actual storage capacity and whether they have 3G capability or not.
If you get an error message regards lack of system memory or RAM then doing a reset may help clear this problem. Unfortunately some developers do not optimise their apps properly for the iPad and it's not the first time an app has not run or crashed due to a lack of RAM. The best thing to do is to report it to the developer using the link on their iTunes app page.
Regards memory leaks these do occur with both software on computers as well as apps on the iPad and iPhone. These are also due to badly designed apps or software and would need to be fixed by the developers.
