  • Help Locating my serial number for Final Cut Studio?

Can anyone help me in Locating a serial number for my Final Cut Studio??-- I dont know where the booklet "installing your software" is --i have all other disks and books-- i need to upgrade from FCP5.1 to 6.2

The booklet is the only place where you can find the serial #.
There is a file on your computer, but it is encrypted.
You might be able to get the number from the splash screen (Final Cut Pro > About Final Cut Pro) but I have heard that it is not displayed in full in some releases. It certainly displays in full on the FCP 7 splash screen.
Should none of the above help, follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1861

  • Release product serial number for final cut studio

i bought an imac. gonna take it back. installed final cut studio. how can i unlock the key for the next computer? do i have to contact apple to release it?

You can uninstall all of the FCS components from the iMac before you return it by using this: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm
When you install FCS on the new computer, use the serial number that was included with the FCS package - it is on stickers affixed to the front cover of the booklet titled "Installing Your Software."

  • Serial Number for Final Cut Studio

I just bought a new iMac and I am trying to install Final Cut Studio. I already had it installed on my old computer so the serial number isn't valid. Is there a way to transfer the serial number? I no longer plan on using the old computer.

Delete it from the old computer, then install it on the new one.
Bear in mind that if you have FCP 5.0, then it might not work on the new Intel iMac. It was designed for the older PowerPC computer. It might, but you might get an error about the AGP graphics card...meaning that it won't work without a little hacking on your part.

  • HT200276 HOW WILL I GET THE LOST SERIAL NUMBER OF FINAL CUT STUDIO

HOW WILL I GET THE LOST SERIAL NUMBER OF FINAL CUT STUDIO ???

It's on the back of the installation booklet. If you've lost that, and have some proof of purchase, it can probably be sorted out by contacting Apple.

  • Serial Number in Final Cut Studio

I am having issues with Final Cut Studio. I bought Final Cut Studio and installed all of the applications on to my iMac but when I choose to load any of the pro applications it will ask for the serial number. I type the serial number in and then the relevant program will load - is there anyway that I can get the software or computer to remember the serial number so that I don't have to keep typing it in?
    Many thanks,
    Phil

The file "Final Cut Studio System ID" is likely corrupted.
Go here to delete it: Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/ProApps.
Launch one of the FCS apps, enter your serial again. Hopefully it will stick now.

  • Lost Serial Number For Final Cut Express 3.5

Okay, here's the story. A long time ago (Like a year), on the left side of the finder window where library, documents, applications, etc. is, for some reason I accidentally dragged out the library icon. About a month ago I took the library icon from in the finder window into the left side of the finder bar. When I logged out and logged back in, my whole account had been reset. I was able to recover all my data, because it did not delete the data, it had only moved it. But all my applications were reset, including Final Cut Express 3.5. I have not used it since today. Today I tried to open FCE, and it asked me for my serial number. Since all my applications were reset, FCE thought this was the first time it was being opened. To get to the point, I no longer have the serial number. I looked for the information so I could get a new serial number (Support page URL http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1861), but I could not find the information. If I can never find the information, I can never open the application again unless I buy a new copy. If anyone can help me in any way to fix this problem that would be VERY helpful. Thank you.

If you have lost the serial number the only thing you can do is contact Apple with some kind of proof of purchase.

  • Serial Number for Final Cut Express 3.5 upgrade is lost in melt down

After a major melt down of logic board, internal and external hard drives I am trying to reload programs. I have loaded final cut express 3.0 and when I try to load my 3.5 upgrade it asks for a serial number. Even though I have the packaging it came in I can not find the number. I registered the software and would like to know if there is a location with Apple I can find the software I have registered and get the serial number from that. Or any other way to find it.

Apple customer service was very good and had the serial number within 2 days. Thank you for the suggestion.

  • How do I recover my serial number for Final Cut Express?

After upgrading to a new iMac and transferring software, Final Cut Express was no longer registered. How can I find my registration number? Does Apple keep these on file similar to adobe?

  • Cant find my serial number for final cut espress but have disk

    Can anyone help with this...

Do you have the application installed? If yes, the serial number is in the splash screen (on recent versions). If not, you have to contact Apple. No one here can help you.

  • Plug-ins for Final Cut Studio

Please post your recommendations for plug-ins for FInal Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro and Motion).

film leaders clips can be downloaded online if you dig around a bit ... Peter Wiggins has a nice Motion Template clock he offers for free (which is a bargain by anyones reckoning)
easy enough to create your own film leader style countdown with a few back to back text generators separated by clock wipe transitions
color bars can already found in your fcp video generators bin
color bars and a film leader style countdown can also be auto generated during output (print to video and edit to tape)
distort faces and license plate like they do on tv? ... ok i give up, what do you mean? if you mean you want to disguise them (Mosaic, Blur etc) then you can have a bash with my Region Blur plugin

  • Set of manuals for Final Cut Studio 5.1

Does anyone have a set of manuals for Final Cut Studio 5.1 that they don't need and would be willing to sell?
I got the crossover version, and find it difficult to cuddle up with the pdf files provided.
If you purchased the full version, and have now gone on to Studio 2 full version, and don't need the manuals to Studio 5.1, and are interested in selling them, please post back here.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Here's something:

But the bidding will probably go up. You can tell by the way he worded the auction that he's selling an illegal copy for people who aren't concerned with legality by disguising it as "a backup".

  • Where Can I find content for Final Cut Studio!

    Hello,
I had final cut studio on my program but I didn't know that it came with content. I threw the box away. Is there a way where I can get those content for the programs?
    Thanks

"But the truth is i got it" yes you did....off a bit torrent. The DVDs are packaged together, it's quite obvious that you illegally obtained a stripped copy. No one is going to fall for your scam, you have some nerve to come here and try and pull it off. Your elementary school english isn't convincing either. I hate to be a bit rude but you have to grow up. If you did actually have a copy you could just show apple your serial number sheet and they'd replace the missing software, but that isn't the case here is it? You have embarrassed yourself and you name here.
    Mods please lock this!!!

  • Looking for advice on a new Mac Pro system mainly for Final Cut Studio 2

We are a small video production company that works mainly on broadcast and internet projects. We're looking to upgrade from an aging Avid system to a Mac Pro running Final Cut Studio 2. The primary thing we want from this system is to be able to work quickly in Final Cut while at the same time doing other operations, and we're willing to spend what it takes to make that happen. We've done a lot of research but still have some issues where we could use your expertise - it's a big investment and we want to nail it.
    Here's the configuration we're considering:
    Processor: Two 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (8-core)
    Memory: 16GB (4 x 4GB)
Hard Drives: 300GB 15,000-rpm SAS (for OS X, Final Cut, & other programs) plus 2 x 1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s (for video storage)
    Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600
We're thinking about spending the extra $1600 to get the best processor available, since we want this machine to be the hub of the business for about five years. Any thoughts on whether to save a bit and go with the 2.8GHz? We've also heard the bus speed presents a bottleneck so the Quad-Core processing power can't be fully utilized - should that have any bearing on our processor decision?
The memory choice seems right - we'll see how well that works and retain the option to double the RAM, particularly as prices fall and new applications or hardware upgrades become tenable. However, we're thinking of perhaps buying some or all of the memory third-party - any advice on whether this tends to be worthwhile, where to get it, and what to watch out for? It looks like there may some issues with getting proper heat-sinking.
We like the hard drive plan, though we've heard a 15,000-rpm drive may generate a lot of heat - any thoughts on this?
The graphics card is where we're most torn - specifically between the Quadro 5600, the GeForce 8800, or perhaps even getting the computer with the standard card (or no card) and getting a different third-party card. We do mostly DV now, but we foresee doing HD projects in the future. We often use a green-screen that's in our studio and also apply minimal 3D effects as well as 3D text. We're debating whether to get the Quadro 5600 right off the bat and hopefully have no issues with it, or whether to get the GeForce 8800 for now and if we have issues then consider upgrading to the Quadro 5600 or potentially something else that would best suit our needs at that time. Would love to receive any and all advice on this issue.
Also, it looks like we're gonna buy Final Cut Studio 2 and are considering also getting Final Cut Server. It seems the combination would allows us to use the Final Cut suite on other computers (both Mac and Wintel) that don't have their own version of Final Cut installed. Is that the correct interpretation? Any other advice on whether to get FC Server would be appreciated.
Thanks very much for reading - we look forward to getting any and all advice you may have.

*Don't do it!* Stick with the dual-2.8GHz config. A jump from that to the dual-3.2GHz gains you only an approximate 9% increase in power at a 52% increase in cost! Not worth it all. That money is much wiser spent on RAM, RAID array, or a broadcast monitor.

The processor is only one part of the whole, and as I just mentioned, the power:cost benefits are not good.

Quadro 5600 is pricey, but I'm not sure about its benefits for people in our field. Even if I had the money for it, I would be hard pressed to consider it considering, again, money is liekly wiser spent elsewhere.

I don't know much about FCServer, but my impression is that it is -- simply speaking -- Final Cut version of Avid Unity. In other words, I am pretty certain that your understanding on that is false. I may be wrong.
