HT200154 Is the Apple tv light supposed to stay on when my tv is off?
Is there something I need to do to turn the light off? or is it supposed to stay on all the time?
The light is fine. Ignore it.

So my sister spilled some amounts of Powerade onto my HP (Pavilion DV7-3165dx ) laptop (2 years old), it spreaded a little(?)on the keyboard (not sure if it penetrated through?) but we managed to immediately turn it over, turned it off ( It dididn't shut itself off,yet), took the charger off, and then the battery later.
While upside-down, I dried it with a blow dryer for a little while (on cool setting).
Then I let it sit on an upside down V shape for like 2 days with a small fan pointed at it. Then let it sit for another day.
I turned it on yesterday (after inspecting it and everything, I even opened the dvd drive by poking through the hole to open it manually, this is the side where it mostly spilled, I looked at the CD drive and smelled it and saw no trace of Powerade residue, so I assumed the motherboard diidn''t even get wet at all ), everything was working flawlessly...
But I noticed when It's turned off, but has some power source,(such as the battery or the charger plugged in ) the indicator lights (stop,forward,wireless button etc) and the light on the DVD drive would otherwise stay/go on and off (flicker) sometimes and you could open the DVD drive by just pressing the button!
Why is this? It seems the electricity from the charger or battery is somehow powering the lights?
Is this a bad thing?
I've tried power draining (disconnecting every power source and holding down the power button), but it doesn't seem to work?
I've also heard worse post laptop-spill where it resulted on the laptop acting weirdly but after a few days it was gone and working completely ....so is it possible there is still some liquid in there?
-Thank youIt ain't good. The only way to check fully how far the liquid went is to remove the keyboard and look around under it. I think by now it is dry but I worry more about the sugar residue on electronic circuits. Here is a link to the Manual:

You are out of warranty anyway so it cannot hurt to remove the keyboard. Be careful with the ribbon cables. Remove the keyboard and wipe away any spill residue you see with rubbing alcohol and let dry thoroughly. -
how do you turn off the apple TV box? There doesn't seem to be an off button. The status light stays on.
Usually, when you put it to sleep mode, the status light will turn off. To put it into sleep mode, go to Settings.
If you want it completely off, then I guess the only way to do it is to pull the electric plug. -
my ipod shuffle is showing up when plugged into my computer. Also, isn't the orange light suppose to stay on until charged. Mine lights orange for a minute and then goes off and also it wont be recongnize by my computer .please help
I'm having the same problem. I'm using a new shuffle usb cable in my 2nd generation shuffle and nothing shows up on computer. I'm wondering if the dock for the second gen is different than the new usb cable direct into the 2nd gen shuffle. I don't have a dock for it. Before I buy one on ebay I hope someone can assist.

I can't get rid of icons in Places -- according to the manual, you're supposed to be able to just drag them off and they go "Pouf!” and disappear. But no...
Just "ctrl" and mouseclick the desired icon and select "Remove from Sidebar" from the little pop up window.. That should do the trick (in your vertical "PLACES" column)
NB: if you want to get rid of icons on the top (horizontal) bar of your finder window, then you need to go to the item with the mouse, press "cmd" ("apple" key) and drag the icon off the finder window onto your desktop and let go (if you want the "Pouf!" effect -
Hi there, when i press the start button on my G4 twin processor, the light inside the button comes on until I let go when it goes back off and the machine does not start up. Any ideas?

While doing a non-iTunes upgrade to 8.02 my iPad froze on the apple screen. After hours of waiting I forced a power off. Froze in same place. Tried attaching to iTunes on PC from power off. Freezing in same place. Any ideas on how to get past this so that I can at least run a restore?

Try recovery mode as described here.
Note you may have to try to enter recovery mode more than one time to succeed.
