HT201066 Mountain Lion - QuickTime Player X -- What happened to the ability "to select what location (on your Mac) to save your screen recording when finished"

While the default behavior (file is saved locally in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX/Data/Library/Autosave information/Unsaved QuickTime Player Document.qtpxcomposition) seems to work fine for users with mobile home directories, users with network home directories are unable to record on Mountain Lion machines.
I believe that by changing the default save location to a local writable space, we could avoid the issue, but the option to change the default save location seems to be missing.
