HT201068 Since this update I have not been able to log in to my online banking account
When I try to log in to my online banking account I get caught in a cycle. I enter my account number, then my password, then I am flipped back to the first screen. I enter my account number, next my password, I get flipped back to the first screen and so on.
I called the Bank Tech support and there is something in the latest update that has created this problem.
Your bank tech support doesn't sound very helpful. Are they specifically saying that they do not support Safari Version 8.0.3? If so, did they suggest another browser and version (e.g. Firefox) that they do support on the Mac? Did they suggest/have you tried clearing history and cookies? To do that, open Safari and click Clear History and Website data on the menu named Safari.

I have an Iphone 4S and ever since I did the IOS6 update I have not been able to update or downloand new apps. Itunes works fine along with everything else. I touch the update or download tab and nothing happens. Thanks for any input!

After the icloud update I have not been able to access any of the newly formatted icons including mail, is anyone else experiencing this. I report to apple through the tab but nothing changes. My iPhone mail is unaffected.
Happy to report that iTunes Match has returned to working like normal on iTunes 10.7 on my computer today. If any iTunes engineers read this thread, I really appreciate the fix.

I have done this on numerous occasions but I think that my Iphone has a defect. After many tries, reinstalls, deletion of content, changing content to be stored on external hard drive, deleting itunes and cleaning computer I managed to get all of the songs on and things seemed okay for a while.
The problem returned about a week ago after downloading a new album from Itunes. I now have 12.5k of songs leaving 10gb spare on Iphone which should be more than enough room to operate properly. Last night it seemed to be dowloading ok (after doing all of the above again for the umpteenth time) this morning it revealed that it had just synched 2.5k of songs and 18gb of "other" on the contents bar. it wont synch now as it says its over capacity. So the 18gb of "other" would probably be corrupted data that means it must corrupt each song as it tries to synch it.
The 2.5k of songs it did synch are working on the Iphone as is every song in the library on Itunes. I did completely delete the new album I bought and redownloaded it from the store then tried to synch just that album and it worked fine.
Just about time to dump apple I think! -
I have a older MBP running 10.6.8 and after the recent iOS update I have not been able to sync my devices. I was able to sync an ipod, but not iphone or ipad. iTunes recognizes my devices, but sync button stays grayed. I've changed my USB hub, reinstalled iTunes and run disc cleanup. No luck.
You said that your computer will sync other iPods? Are they iPod touches? Other iPod use different drivers the the touch And iPhone and iPad).
You can try:

Does it charge? Does the iPod work?
I would try on another computer.

I have just installed OS XMavericks and since installation have not been able to select smart groups to send emails to. Any ideas why? Also I suddenly can't italicise or embolden text in an email.
BunnyfwYou have to manually select the addresses from the smart group for the To: button to enable in the Window menu -> Address Panel window. You can't just select the Smart group icon alone.
As for italics and embolden, those are non-standard formats that only work when e-mailing people with certain e-mail clients. Mail menu -> Preferences -> Composing lets you choose message format as Rich Text or Plain Text. Only Rich Text enables italics and embolden. Responding using the same format as original will enable that if the original had bold or italic. Everyone supports plain text. -
Since upgrading my 4S today i have been able to make 1 complete call and nothing else. I took my phone to an AT&T dealership only to find out they could not help me at all that I needed to contact AT&T directly regarding the iphone upgrade. The gentlemen Dwayne Walker did a soft reset and it did not work. The phone goes on for 30 seconds and shuts down to black screen with apple in middle. I have tried everything i know and i wish i never upgraded to 7.0.2 software becuase now i have no phone and i my sister and her daugther are both in hospital and i am the emergency contact with no phone
You need to contact Apple by phone. It should be a free call since it is caused by the upgrade. They will walk you through the fix.
It may take quite a while.
I too am having 7.0.2 issues. My battery life is now 4-5 hrs TOPS an it's the IOS problem. Apparently I am not alone. I have an appt tomorrow to further troubleshoot. So right now I'm staying plugged in at all times. I have an Iphone 5.
I had a similar problem to yours when I upgraded my iPhone 4 to IOS6. They worked it out for me.

It always updates automatically but this time it seems that Firefox won't work at all now. I cannot log in to even send this to you. I had to come to work to do it so I don't have a crash ID here because I didn't know I needed it. I have only used Firefox for several years now and am upset that this update messed it all up.I used to use Thunderbird also (which I loved) but I have over 750 e-mails that can't seem to download (they downloaded from the server, but couldn't get into Thunderbird. The first message took over 10 minutes...so I don't use it either because all my messages line up after those 750. Nobody can seem to fix that either)

Until recently I have been able to retrieve all messages not deleted i m mailbox "inbox". Today I can only retrieve messages from 9/10/13 to present. How can i retreive all previously sent messages that were not deleted?
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Tap the account in question > Mail days to sync - increase the time to sync.

I've tried multiple times checking the settings with flash and I've checked and unchecked "hardware acceleration" and I've cleared my cache and cookies multiple of times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled flash many times to but still I have this issue. My computer alone plays music just fine only through flash videos do I have a problem
Hi X-Calibar, thanks for your comments. Yes, there are 4 zones under Internet Options and security settings. IE9 from what I have read has more security features than IE7/IE8 had. It appears this Server verification involves status of the Certificate that the website has as well as the Server that is using it. From what I've read on the IE9 sites, Microsoft states that if any HTTP sites are in the Trusted Zone, that the Server Verification is to be UNchecked.
When you go to add a site to the Trusted Sites zone, it by default only accepts HTTPS sites.
I would think that would only be if you had the SV box checked, that's what I find with IE8.

I think you and I may be saying the same thing, just in a different way:-) Not using IE9, I don't know how all of the new features work. My concern is mainly limited to any feature that conflicts or effects Flash Player. Just as the ActiveX Filtering. That certainly effects Flash Player, so that is on my radar:-)

HT6114 After the update, I have not been able to use iMessage on Mac.
I literally got this macbook last week and I was using iMessage perfectly until I had to update it. When I open the app, nothing shows up, and when I go to the file tab, the cursor becomes the loading colorful circle.

Can you go to the Apple Menu in the Menu Bar > About this Mac and then click twice on the line that reads the current OS ?
This will change to the Build Number (another OS counting method) and then to the Serial Number.
At OS X 10.8.2 (in Mountain Lion) the Serial Number started to be used in creating an Auth Token for both Messages and FaceTime.
One issue is that (after the initial issues) people have been updating from Lion to Mavericks, bypassing this "threshold" as it were.
However someone has also reported that Mavericks seems to deny access to reading the Serial Number from the logic/Mother board and creating the issue over again.
They reported that taking it to the Store and having it "flashed" to the board is successful.
(they had been in contact with Apple and engineers were looking at various Logs that "proved" it was missing).
There are some utilities available On line (which I will not recommend) that do allow you to attempt this once.
It seems the board only allows this once.
However the info in the other thread seemed to suggest otherwise.

Is there a fix or upgrade to deal with the many problems I am experiencing since I installed Lion? I can no longer utilize Time Machine (Does not see the back-up drive); my wireless mouse does not work properly; my iMac has slowed down considerably. I am reminded of having a PC machine again. Bummer!
Either downgrade to Snow Leopard or try reinstalling Lion.
Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files. -
Since IOS 7 I have not been able to sync all of my songs.
I have had nothing but issues since I downloaded IOS 7, I am fairly computer literate but I cannot solve this particular problem.
After the new system wiped everything off my Iphone, without warning, I had to sync everything again, it all worked, eventually, except the music.
I have and Iphone 4s, 64gb. and basically just use it for a phone and music (no videos as space is needed for music.)
The main issue was the amount of time it was taking to sync about 10k of songs, (longer than normal which was about a 1000 songs an hour) it seemed to hang whilst waiting for changes to be applied which took 45mins to an hour before it started syncing songs then would just stop syncing after maybe a couple of thousand songs, and then when starting again I would find that there were no songs on the iphone and it would start from the begining again. After a couple of frustrating days I restored my iphone back to factory settings, uninstalled Itunes from my laptop and after downloading Itunes again I set it up as a new phone. I thought this was working and the next day after a night of syncing it all looked good as it indicated it had finished and the desired 10k of songs showed up in the blue section of the sync bar with 20gb free (which was what is was in the past). However later I found that there were only 6k of songs on the Iphone.
After many tries it simply will not transfer anymore despite it indicating that during the sync that it shows 6k of songs then the bar it increases to 10k just before it commences the downloading stage of the sync (and again it seems to stall at the "waiting to apply changes" part of the sync).
