HT201084 Can I share in-app-purchases with my child?

I have an iPad 2 for my son which we've had for the last 2 years. Up until last week, it was registered in my Apple ID. Last week I upgraded my iPad to IOS8, created a new Apple ID for my 4yo son in his name under my name then re-registered the iPad in my son's Apple ID. I have been able to re-download all the previously purchased apps, songs and books in my account into his account free of charge. But the only thing I am not sure about now is the in-app-purchases. My son tries to re-install an in-app purchase on his iPad by touching the option. It then says that if needs to ask my permission as the parent. He touches "Okay " then a message comes through to my iPhone saying that I need to pay a certain amount for the in-app-purchase that he wants that was previously paid in my account. Is it possible that any in-app-purchases previously purchased in my account can be shared into my son's account free of charge? Please let me know ASAP.

Having just spoken to Apple Tech support. You can have only one Apple ID for  Apps for anything Mac, iPad, iPhone and music etc. that you purchased under one ID. You also can not merge Apps purchased under two or more IDs. I needed their help in changing my Apple ID to my primary e-mail. Hope this helps but you can not have two IDs for the same Apps. This really a big part of iTunes where Apple has the records of all your purchases and IDs.

  • I have 2 ipad2s on one account. can i share the apps purchased rather than having to purchase same app for each.  I am only user.

I have 2 ipad2s on one apple/itunes account.  can i share the apps purchased rather than purchase the same apps for each ipad2
    . i am only user.

.... And you can put them on as many iDevices as you own. There is no limit as long as you use the same Apple ID and iTunes account for all of the devices.

  • HT2736 Can you make in-app purchases with a gift app?

I have a friend that let me sync up and get fruit ninja and I'm going to make an in-app purchase but I want to know if you can make an app purchase with a gift app

Ok, it was a slightly tounge-in-cheek response.
What are the symptoms of the wi-fi problem?
    Have you reset the iPad?
Have you proved the wi-fi works from another device?
Have you reset the network settings on the iPad?
Have you tried backing up and then restoring your backup?
Have you tried restoring as a new device?

  • HT4009 Can you buy in-app purchases with itunes giftcard money?

I want to buy an in-app purchase and I have a $10 gift certificate in my account. If I buy an in-app purchase, will it be deducted from the gift card total?

I tried it and it worked.  It has used my itunes credit for an in-app purchase.
It hasn’t worked for me before so I was sceptical but apple have fixed their bug and it works now within the game I used to make the purchase.
    I hope this helps!

  • HT3819 My wife and I each have our own Apple ID's. Can we share music we purchase with each other?

We each have our own iTunes libraries but would like to share some music that we purchase in iTunes.

With the new iCloud, I keep seeing people wondering how they are going to be able to keep sharing purchases among their family members using one Apple ID since the way iCloud works encourages you to have your own.
The problem is, people think to share purchases among their family members they have to use a single Apple ID.That is not true at all.
If you set up Home Sharing in iTunes, you can share purchases among family member computers and devices that are using different Apple IDs. Many people don't understand that although Home Sharing requires you to use a single Apple ID to connect everyone, all of your family members can continue to use their OWN Apple IDs in iTunes and in their iDevices. The Home Sharing account just links up multiple different Apple IDs for you.
Edited to Clarify: Home Sharing among family members with different Apple IDs is NOT limited to just music. You can share purchased apps, books, tv shows, movies, etc. too. Basically anything in your iTunes library. And that includes sharing iOS apps.

It would seem as though it does work with different IDs.

  • Can I share my itunes purchases with my wife's iphone?

I have an extensive collection of music both ripped and purchased from itunes. Since the music is purchased under my account the songs play on my iPhone. I would like my wife to have the same music collection on her phone. Is it possible to have her play my purchased music on her phone if she is syncing to her iphone with my computer/music library.
    Gabe

Let me be a bit more clear. I am able to sync to her phone the music from my library but when she tried to play any of the music purchased from itunes the song will not play. What am I missing?

  • In-app Purchasing with Phonegap

There’s Phonegap/Cordova plugin to support In-app-purchase on Appstore(iOS) and Google Play(Android), but no way to support Windows Store.
How can we do In-app-purchase with phonegap/cordova for Windows Phone/Windows Store?
Who know if Windows Store supports Javascript Web API to do In-app-purchase ?

    Hi fengshuiapps,
If you want to use the WinRT API's directly in your Cordova based app, then all you need to do is to check for window.Windows property and then use the Windows Runtime classes you would normally do from a regular Windows Store/Phone Runtime apps.
For example, this link: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh694067.aspx talks about enabling in-app purchase for a Windows Store app which uses the Windows Runtime classes directly.
In your case, you will need to use windows.Windows to access the entire Windows Runtime. There is no "intellisense" for getting the WinRT class information, but you should be able to access the classes at runtime.
    Something like this..
if (window.Windows) { // this means you can use the Windows Runtime class information
    var license = window.Windows.ApplicationModel.Store.CurrentAppSimulator.licenseInformation;
// you can now access license.expirationDate or license.isActive properties
    Thanks,

  • How do i approve my kids app purchases with family share

how do i approve my kids app purchases with family share on my iphone?

    Hello andrewmarkp,
With Family Sharing, you can approve purchases with the Ask To Buy feature. The following article provides helpful information:
Family purchases and payments - Apple Support
Approving purchases with Ask to Buy
You can turn on Ask to Buy to require approval for purchases initiated by any family member who is under 18 years old.*
    iOS 8
Tap Settings > iCloud > Family, and tap your family member's name.
    Turn on Ask to Buy.
    OS X Yosemite
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
Click Manage Family and select your family member's name.
    Select Ask to Buy.
Ask to Buy is enabled by default for any children under 13 years old, and can be enabled during the setup process for any children 13-17 years old.* You can't turn on Ask to Buy for adults.
If you don't wish to be billed for purchases initiated by a specific adult family member, you can remove that family member from the family group.
*Ages may vary by country or region.
Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing. Content can be hidden by family members; hidden content is not available for download. Content downloaded from family members or acquired via redemption codes is not subject to Ask to Buy.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • I downloaded apps purchased with another Apple ID. But my data is missing. What can I do to get them back? I have a different iCloud id.

I downloaded apps purchased with another Apple ID. But my data is missing. What can I do to get them back? I have a different iCloud id.

All apps are tied forever to the Apple ID used to obtain them, that is also true with In-App purchases.
Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
