When I connect my MacBook Air to my TV thru the MiniDisplay Port to HDMI I only see the MacBook Universe Desktop Display. How do I see what is displayed on my screen?
This is called extended desktop mode. It's a logical extension of the desktop to the right of your main monitor.
Grab an application on your monitor and drag it off the right side of the screen and it will appear on the TV.
To mirror your monitor on the TV you can press Command F1.
These setting are in System Preferences > Display > Arrangement tab.
You can also choose which screen will display the menubar there.

Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…

Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.
Release the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.

I live in the US and want to buy a MacBook Air with norwegian keyboard in the Apple Store. Is that possible?
In earlier years you can go th an Apple Store, buy a Macbook Pro and ask for a replacement to a other type of keyboard. I do this 2-3 times in the last years for german keyboards. If you done this on the same day you bought the macbook, the replacement happened without charge anything. It was a great service.
Yesterday i go back to the same store like before and both - the sales representative and the guys an the GeniusBar told me - that this is not offered by Apple anymore. Because the US Apple Online Store do not offer other Keyboards the US-based keyboards and the German Apple Online Store do not deliver to other countries the final conglusion from the Apple Stuff was:

I see here in the Support community a lot of questions about norwegian, german and other kind of keyboards they want to buy in the US. Their is obviously a need for this. And from the logistic standpoint, it should be easy for Apple to offer that in the Online Stores itself.
For me the conglusaion is: I stay with my old Macbook Pro and hope i need no replacement within the next years. To order it in germany, ship it to a friend, pay taxes twice (in germany and vur customers) plus shipment, make it to expensive (bottonline: 600-800$ more than buy it in the US) make no sense to me. -

Try resetting your modem. Power it down. Wait a moment, then power it up again. While it resets, do not change what is connected to it.

I purchased a 3rd party mini displayport to hdmi adaptor. My 2011 macbook air with thunderbolt wont detect the display.
Is the display turned on? Sometimes it is the simplest of solutions, when details are missing.

Facetime between iPad2 and MacBook Air worked fine here in the USA. The iPad2 is now in Rome, Italy and we can't connect internationally. We both can hear the caller ringing in and can see who is trying to call, but after accepting the call we cannot connect. No voice, no video. iPad is successfully sending and receiving eMails, but no Factime connection What's up?
I am curious if possibly the hotel has some sort of VOIP block on. Have you tried Skype? Did you talk to the hotel staff? My husband is traveling to Milan in a couple of days and I wonder if he will run into the same issue. He has had no problems from Istanbul but he is staying in a corporate apartment there. there is no sound on my macbook air. I have checked the volume and mute controls and the internal speaker are selected. any one any ideas please.
Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
1. Remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

3. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
4. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it.

This is cost-effective alternative to upgrading the internal SSD on a MacBook Air for $200 to $315. One can use multiple microSD card to multiply the storage they carry with them.
Time Machine does not backup these microSD cards so using an alternative backup program, such as Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper! would be prudent. One could partition their Time Machine backup drive(s) with 64 or 128 GB partitions (one per microSD card) so another backup hard drive is not needed.

When I downloaded iWork on my MacBook Air, it didn't copy the application to my other devices. Is that an error or should I buy them again on each device!?
Just redownlod it from the Mac App Store on any other Macs - you won't have to pay for them again. On your iOS devices you will need to purchase the iOS version which is a different program - again, you will only need to buy it the once for all your iOS devices.

Assuming you are using Safari ...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
