HT201205 iOS 7.1.1 Bluetooth speakers sound issue

Since updating to iOS 7.1.1 I can no longer hear sound from my Bose SoundLink Mini speakers. I have restarted and reset both devices and paired the connection again. My phone will connect to the speakers but can't hear a sound. I have ensured the volume is up on both devices. Has anyone else had issues after upgrading? How can this be fixed?

Thanks for the tip - unfortunately this did not solve my problem. Anyone else have anything to try?

Speakers sound issue on Envy 14 Beats Edition

Hi all,
For few days now, my one year Envy 14 has a weird speakers sound issue. When the sound level passes over 50%, there is a lot of scratches and distorsion on the speaker, in that case, it is not usable at all.
Note that this issue does not happen on the jack outputs, with a headset, the sound is perfect, or it is as it also was on the speakers some days ago.
I'm posting here to be able to find the source of the issue. My Envy runs Ubuntu from the beginning, I've just tested with a old Ubuntu LiveCD and the problem is the same, so this is not a Ubuntu or software issue.
Now, my main question is does this come from the speakers themselves? From the audio board? From the main board? How can I diagnose?

I have the same exact problem with mine. I have a problem with my webcam as well. They are both hardware problems and need to new parts. If I knew where to get them I would have have told you.

No sound with bluetooth speakers / aptX issue

i can't get any sound from my bluetooth speakers. the bluetooth of my Z3c works perfectly with my Plantronics BackBeat FIT, but does not work with my JBL OnBeat aWake speakers.
i did already disable the throw function, but that didn't help.
when i connect my phone to the OnBeat, a popup on the phone say's it is connected to a aptX device. i am not sure if the OnBeat has aptX.
NB the OnBeat works perfectly with other bluetooth devices including my old Galaxy Nexus.
can anyone please help me with this issue?

Have you checked the Smart connect app to see if it's a paired device and when playing music do you enable throw as you said you disabled it

HT4972 iTouch 4gen w/iOS 6.1.5 + Bluetooth pairing(?) issue. It won't.

I have an iTouch 4generation iOS 6.1.5 - latest software per iTunes updater.
Can't get bluetooth to pair. Sees the OontZ XL speaker (on the screen), but won't pair up.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dm4 Notebook and issues with the sound. Here is a link to help troubleshoot the speakers.
You could try this fix as well.
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it and set as Default
5. Click Apply/Ok

updating to iOS 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 cause external speaker not working on iphone 4 and iphone 4s.

I got the same issue since iOS 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 and expected improvement with iOS 6.1.3...but I still have the same problem.
Additionnaly I can no more listen to music when I plug my Iphone 4s on a dock station of logitech speaker.
Before iOS 6.1.1 all worked well.
Just to know, do you use the itubes apps?

Phone wont connect to bluetooth speakers

I am trying to connect my iPhone 4S with IOS 7 to my bluetooth speakers (HMDX Jam Classic). Everytime I try and connect it, it picks it up, but then says "won't pair," saying the device is too far away and it took too long, though its next to me. I tried turning both devices off and tried connecting other phones, but nothing will work. Any ideas? Thank you!

Ipad IOS 8 Bluetooth speakers no longer work

Upgraded Ipad 3 to IOS 8 and Boston Acoustics Bluetooth speakers no longer work. The speakers pair with the Ipad, but connection drops when opening any app that attempts to use the bluetooth connection. Seems like the updated IOS blutooth driver is the problem. I tested with Iphone 4, Iphone 5, ipad 2 running IOS 7
and all work fine. Tested with Iphone 6 plus, Ipad 3, Ipad 2 using IOS 8 and none of the IOS 8 devices work... Also did the IOS 8 patch and did not fix this issue.
The Boston Acoustics Speakers supports Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, A2DP v1.2
Seems like Apple can't get the wireless side right, IOS 6 had issues with Wifi and Bluetooth muting, that was corrected in IOS 7, now another wireless problem that makes these $350 speakers a boat anchor..... and not usable.
Perhaps they need to hire some RF / Wireless engineers and do a better job of regression testing... I am a wireless engineer and know that we never make hardware or software upgrades without extensive inter op testing and friendly user trials...

I have this same exact issue with my Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS Digital Cinema 2.1 system. Any other device can connect just fine including all of my previous iPhones and Android devices, but my new iPhone 6 will not keep the connection. Strange because the iPhone 6 will connect and work perfectly fine with my Plantronics Voyager Legend and my JBL Flip bluetooth. What happened guys, Mr. Jobs passed and you all forgot how to do proper QA? This type of foolishness is expected from Microsoft, not Apple.

Do you mean a restore to factory settings?. If so did you set up as new or restore from back up afterwards?

IOS 7.0.4 x iphone 4 x headphone and no speakers sound

Hi,
I´ve just upgraded my iphone 4 to the new ios 7.0.4 and now it keeps thinking it has a headphone pluged in. No sound at the speakers. The volume buttons show the volume of the headphone, although it has no headphone there.
It seems to be a software problem beacause somehow the sound of the speakers comes back by itself then go away again and the phone starts to think there is a headphone pluged in.
What should I do? Should I downgrade to IOS 7.0.3? How to do this?

Yes. Here's a link. Google shows a bunch. Beware though some are just bluetooth linking the left or right speaker and requires you to plug into the not-bluetooth-linked-speaker.

Bluetooth Speakers VIZIO S3821 Connected but no sound

I have a Macbook Pro and I set up blue tooth so I can have the audio go through a bluetooth speaker system I have. I am able to connect to the Speaker system through the computer's bluetooth and access it in system preference's sound menu and even set the sound symbol (clicking on it with option held down so it is VIZIO not internal speakers) but the sound only comes from my internal speakers and not the bluetooth ones.
I use the same sound system with my iphone and there is no problem. Is there a way to make the macbook pro play sound through the bluetooth speakers?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that you are having trouble with sound via your bluetooth soundbar.
Just to clarify, does your audio still work when you remove the soundbar connection?
With the sound bar connected, do you get sound via headphones, earplugs, that sort of thing if they are plugged in?
Also please post the full product number and operating system in use on your notebook. See the following documents if you need help in finding those.

My iPad 3 iOS 8.3 suddenly stopped playing sound on its speakers while I was listening on Spotify. Volume was maxxed out. Side switch not on mute. Tried rebooting thrice. Sounds won't work on other apps (Soundcloud, NPR, Clash of Clans). There are sounds when I attached my earpods. I tried the switch to mono solution on the other threads, didn't help either.
My iPad is generally muted because of classes, but when I un-mute it it works fine. It just stopped after one song, and now I can't get it to work. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I've the same issue after updating to iOS 8.3. on iPad 3.
sound is working properly only with headphones attached.
when I tap on AirPlay button it says "Docking connector" while it should "iPad"
when i play with sound settings and try to change e.g. some alert sounds, sound is played and volume slider in control center magically appears.
any other app can't play sound.
is there any fix for that?

How can I send sound from microphone to Bluetooth speakers? They work from the music app but not from an internal or external microphone. Is this a setup issue or is there a work around?

I don't know of any way to do that.
