HT201205 Motorola Sliver Elite and Siri - she's not hearing my commands over headset.

I have a Motorola Sliver Elite Bluetooth headset which I have had for over six months and worked great with iOS 7.0+. I use it with an iPhone 4s. I recently upgraded to iOS 7.1. Now, Siri does not listen to me over my headset. HELP!

I am having the same problem on my Toyota Prius. The phone works fine for BT calls, but when I use Siri to make a call via BT, she starts dialing the correct number, and then I get a message that the call has been disconnected. I also cannot use my IPhone to play music via Bluetooth with the Nav system. It works when connected via USB, but the Bluetooth selection is grayed out on the Nav display for music even though it IS connected via Bluetooth for the phone.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Why do you believe this is true?
If you had PhotoStream turned on and your photos were syncing to it, PhotoStream holds the last 30 days worth of photos (up to 1000 photos maximum) in the cloud and they should sync back to the phone. Any photos taken more than 30 days ago and any photos greater than the 1000 photo capacity of PhotoStream, will have already been purged from the cloud and are no longer available for download.
IF you had photostream turned on, it stands to reason that you probably also had iCloud backups turned on, in which case you should be able to wipe the phone (settings>General>Resets>Erase all content and Settings) and restore it from your most recent iCloud backup.

Sounds like your microphone might be busted. Test it by doing a voice memo. If this is the case you should take it to your service provider/carrier/nearest apple store to have it looked at.
Alternatively, try using headphones or a bluetooth headset. These are all steps to make sure it's not the mic that's damaged.

Check Settings > General > Siri >
     Siri: ON
     Language: supported language here
     Voice Feedback: Always
Also check Settings > General > Restrictions: should be OFF and Siri: ON
If the settings is correct, Switch Siri OFF then switch back ON again.
If no joy, do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
BTW, Press the Home button a bit longer for Siri to appear.

IPhone 6 issue with Siri - she's not listening to me!

The phone's working fine and I have a good wireless and cell connection. When you activate Siri it makes all the right noises but it seems the microphone is disconnected. (it works fine on phone calls)

It sounds like you are unable to use Siri at all, even though it seems to open it doesnt seem to hear you. I would toggle Siri Off, then restart your phone, turn it back on and try again.
iOS: Troubleshooting Siri
Settings > General > Siri.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

My daughter got an iphone. She set up using my apple ID. She deleted all the contacts that appeared on her phone and now they seem to be gone completely. Is it possible that she deleted contacts from the cloud? Are they permanently gone?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

I checked and found that the router did not have the latest firmware.   It does now.   The issue is still there.   I did a little research and found that the model number of my Apple TV (MC572LL/A) shows that it is a 2G version which uses the A4 chip.   The latest version uses the A5 chip and is 1080 capable. Both are supposed to be capable of using type "N" routers.   I don't think that should be an issue but I wonder if later updates may have introduced some issues in the 2G version.
I am going to try changing the "N" channel also- just to see if that makes any difference. The istumbler app does not show any "N" networks in my area so it is defaulting to 149.   I will note that even 1 foot away from the router I only get 75-85% for signal.   I would expect it to be 100% since it is so close.   I am also seeing noise go up from typically 13% to 21% when it is on channel 3 and that close.       I will play change locations and channels and see if there is any improvement.

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

couple of things to try -
settings, general, restrictioons. siri turned off?
if you have a set of i phone earplugs (that also have a mike), does she hear that? (or any other plug in mike?)
but first - do a full reboot. press and hold both the home and sleep buttons until you see the apple logo. ignore the red slider.
Do any other apps that need the mike work? like facetime or sound recorder?

It's a little hard to know what you're doing wrong without knowing what actions you've completed or omitted.
