I got a gift card as a Pin number, not a regular code, how do I redeem it?
You might need to ask if the person who gave it to you has a reciept or at least remembers where they bought it. It might need to be activated by the store. Otherwise try contacting Apple support directly and give them all the numbers on the card.

If your iTunes Store account is for another country, you can't redeem a card from another country even if you are currently present in that country. You would need to either move your existing account to the Netherlands or set up a new account in the Dutch iTunes Store, either of which would require you to also have a valid Dutch mailing address. Unless you're going to be in the Netherlands for quite a while, I would suggest you just give or sell that iTunes card to someone who lives in the Netherlands.

You can't redeem or use that card outside of the USA, and can't change the iTunes Store country while having an unused gift card balance.

iTunes gift cards are only valid on accounts based in the country in which the card was issued - so if you have a US account then you can only use US gift cards. Do you know anybody in the country where you bought it from that you could sell or give it to ? Or you could try selling it on a site such as eBay.

I have rented a movie on my ipad. It did not download due to not being on wifi at the time. I know I completed the rental because my gift card balance went down $3.99 plus tax. How do I find where to download the movie?

Hey. I have received an iTunes gift card, so I was all excited, punching the code into the "redeem" option on iTunes on my iPad2; however, I kept on getting the alert, "This is not recognised as a valid code". It is very legible, though. How come?
The obvious answer I think is that maybe you are not entering the letters and numbers correctly. I almost never get it right the first time when I use a gift card.
Try entering the code again - slowly and methodically. If it still doesn't work - look here for help.

One final thought - if you are using a gift card that was purchased in another country - say like you have a Canada gift card and you live in the U.S. - that card will not work in the U.S. iTunes store. -

Well, that is the problem. The gift card is only valid in the country in which it was issued.

My account's balance shows at the top left of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option. On my devices it shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to)
