to know how much there is before gifting it to someone? Is there somewhere online to enter in the card number and see balance?

Unless the card says the amount on it then the only way to know its value is to redeem it onto an account - there isn't a page to type in it's redemption code to check its value

You probably want to save the user's e-mail address and any other identifying information he/she submitted in the questionaire. For this, you will probably want to use a database, so I would suggest learning JDBC as well.

Biting the upgrade bullet... but just want to check first...

So I think i need to upgrade to Studio 2.
I just looked at a cut of something using the same format we shoot on (HDV 1080i) but covered to prores.. the results were the nail in the coffin.
However, I just want to check... my G5 and Final Cut Pro 5 are both second hand. I have the original FCP5 discs, but not the G5s system discs. Is there any reason I can't just get the upgrade from Studio 1 package?
Also - if you do the upgrade package, does that essentially delete version 5? as in - can I have both versions on the same computer? I ask because I share some version 5 projects with other computers that don't have 6 yet and don't want to shoot myself in the foot..

I agree that having two versions in the same machine is not a good idea, I wouldn't want that .
Installing a new version of FCS would overwrite the previous one though (Thanks Shane for confirming this in the past).
I know there are some people who use several versions of FCP in the same machine however here is Apple's point of view on the matter:

Remember that you can always export your projects as XML in order to work with them on different machines and FCP version.

On the introductory window, also make sure you pick from the top choices under Word Processing - I just use "Blank". If you choose the Blank under the sedon set (page layout), you will have to get a text box. I use that setting if I have a lot of images I want to insert and then have text around/near the images.

When you're done with that page, it should automatically move to the next one or you can choose another blank page in the pulldown in the toolbar.

I have the IPOD 60GB Video and therefor have a ton a music/movies/games ect on my itunes. I have just ordered the IPOD shuffle 1GB to go the gym with because I dont want to drop or damage my other IPOD. How can I pick out songs and just download those to the shuffle? I notice tick boxes next to the songs.......but I have over 6000 songs and I dont want to have to go through the entire thing and tick off what songs I want, any easier way to do this?

You can either auto-fill the Shuffle in iTunes from your library or a playlist or drag songs onto the Shuffle.
Just disable Autofill to do the latter.

I need help! Firefox is so ungodly slow. I'm here for 30 min. trying to open gmail. I can't do a diagnosis on this...I just want to check email and research online, not spend hours staring at a nonfunctioning browser screen!

Firefox doesn't open for 10 min. or longer
When it does TRY to open...there are often numerous pages all trying to open. Another 15 min.
I try to close them one by one and they duplicate even faster at times. This varies though. Sometimes they do close but very slowly.
After 30 min. or so I sometimes just quit...I don't have time for this.

I'm not sure if the crash is or isn't related to fonts.
Deciphering the crash long is something I don't have any experience with.
I'm not even sure how the crash log is structured. I've downloaded two screen captures: one from the top of the adobe Photoshop crash log and one from the bottom. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can discern what may be causing the crash?

This represents the standard output stream and you can change it with the following method: setOut(PrintStream out). Becasue the type of the out variable is PrintStream you can invoke all methods available in this class, but you cannot invoke methods from the System class. For instance you invoke println(String line) method available in PrintStream, but you cannot invoke the setOut(PrintStream out) method of the System class.
And regarding class and instance variables:

If we have TRANSDIR=/usr/sap/trans/$(system),then transport buffer lock file will
created into the /usr/sap/trans/SID of local system where import is being carried out/tmp/SID.LOB
But in this case it is trying to create it /usr/sap/trans/SID of target system (delivery root )/tmp/SID.LOB
SAP library says "If you have defined further systems for the import, the requests are registered for import into these other systems after the main import has succeeded (see also Performing Imports)"
Does it mean that while registeration, tp is tring to create transport buffer lock file.
I know this info. is not sufficient but your thoughts will be helpful.
