when i try to buy a song off my account it says "because this is your first time making a purchase on this device, you must verify your identity by answering questions" but i forgot the answers
If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then the steps half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

I have money in my itunes account but when I try to buy a song it doesn't let me buy it or download. It doesn't do anything!
You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if the article doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
Changing the rescue email address requires supplying two of the answers. They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

i put money to my itunes account. and now when i try and buy a song it keeps saying that it has to charge my card. why wont it let me use the giftcard money? how can i fix this?
If you still have your old card listed on your account then try selecting the 'none' option and remove it and then try entering the card's details from scratch. If that doesn't work then what is the full error message that you are getting, and the card is registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing) that you have on your iTunes account ?

I have redeemed points on my account but, when I try to buy a song I tunes doesnt use them it tries to access the credit card associated with the account for payment. How do I tell this thing to use the points instead. duh
By 'redeemed points' I assume that you mean that you've redeemed an iTunes gift card onto your account (?). If you do then are you trying to buy songs for yourself or are you trying to gift them - you can only gift items from a credit card, an account's balance can't be used for gifting. If you are buying for yourseflt and you are being asked to enter/verify a credit card number then are you currently in the country where your iTunes account is based ?

I get error message: not enough space to download when I try to buy a tv series on Itunes. It tells me to delete photos or videos to make space, but I have no photos and videos. Help?
I would guess that a TV series takes up a fair amount of storage capacity. It is just a standard message I think that may indicate that you are actually running low on storage space.
If you go to Settings>General>About how many GBs are specified as being available? If you are low on space maybe deleting some apps may help. -
Why am I receiving the following message when I try to move a song from my iTunes library into my iPod touch's music folder?

I have a gift card that I have not been able to use. I am told I have $12.42 in my account, but don't know how to access it. When I try to download a song, I am referred to my credit card. How do I use my gift card?
Also, there are two downloads in my account that I can not delete. I did not order them and do not know how they got in my account. I think they are SciFi TV programs. How do I get rid of them?

If so, then you can only pay for a gift via a credit card. Or is it just asking you to update/confirm your billing details? If so, that's a normal security precaution. Just make sure your credit card information is correct and it should then deduct the purchase from your credit balance.

My second iPod is a 5th generation and when I try to buy something it says it needs make sure I am who I say I am and it makes me answer security questions. But the problem is I don't know the answers to them. I did not choose them. And if I can't find an answer I can't buy anything!!! Help!!!!

Error code when I try to buy a song
Just today I tried to buy some songs, but the error code -42408 came up. What does this mean? I can't buy any more songs?
When I say 'they' I mean the computer when I sign in. It asked me for the code on my card and I typed it in, then it said it was invalid and asked for the serial number. I seen where the serial number is (listed on the bottom of card) in an example it showed in the 'help' section. I typed in the serial number but that didn't work either. I tried this many times and the last message I received when I tried to redeem my card to buy a song was "your gift card or iTunes card has already been redeemed". I didn't even buy one song yet. Do you have a phone number I can call. I can't find one listed anywhere on the site. I think the people who own iTunes are just a bunch of cheaters trying to get money out of people by buying the cards and then not being able to use them.

Did you follow the instructions in the message and contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support. If Apple have asked you to contact them, then the issue can only be resolved by them. -
