  • WHY FREE ITUNES PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE ONLY FOR USA AND NOT FOR OTHER USERS OUTSIDE USA

I am so impressed wit the welcome page saying "Join the conversation. Share tips and solutions with fellow Apple product users from all around the world."
Apple mentioned for their products users around the world but many of their free itunes products are available only for USA and not for the users from the other side of the globe?
Is this Apple a fair and customer oriented company or full of bias and Only money oriented company.
If apple could not make thier other FREE stuffs available outside US territory then better for thsi company to just sell their products in USA. its just so disgusting...  If we need a certain apps (FREE APPS) available only for US based users.
If you think US users and other country users are paying the same prices for their iPad 3G/4G WIFI 64GB and iPhone 3G/4G 64 GB like hat I did having the 2 gadgets altogether but my investment ends to disgusting as the apple company cound not treat people equal then.....  I want to return all this **** stuffs

  • Why jvm maintains string pool only for string objects why not for other objects?

why jvm maintains string pool only for string objects why not for other objects? why there is no pool for other objects? what is the specialty of string?

You might be aware of the fact that String is an immutable object, which means string object once created cannot be manipulated or modified. If we are going for such operation then we will be creating a new string out of that operation.
It's a JVM design-time decision or rather better memory management. In programming it's quite a common case that we will define string with same values multiple times and having a pool to hold these data will be much efficient. Multiple references from program point/ refer to same object/ value.
    Please refer these links
What is Java String Pool? | JournalDev
Why String is Immutable in Java ? | Javalobby
Sorry but you are spreading FALSE information. Also, that first article is WRONG - just as OP was wrong.
This is NO SUCH THING as a 'string pool' in Java. There is a CONSTANT pool and that pool can include STRING CONSTANTS.
It has NOTHING to do with immutability - it has to do with CONSTANTS.
Just because a string is immutable does NOT mean it is a CONSTANT. And just because two strings have the exact same sequence of characters does NOT mean they use values from the constant pool.
On the other hand class String offers the .intern() method to ensure that there is only one instance of class String for a certain sequence of characters, and the JVM calls it implicitly for literal strings and compile time string concatination results.
    Chapter 3. Lexical Structure
In that sense the OPs question is valid, although the OP uses wrong wording.
And the question is: what makes class Strings special so that it offers interning while other basic types don't.
    I don't know the answer.
But in my opinion this is because of the hybrid nature of strings.
In Java we have primitive types (int, float, double...) and Object types (Integer, Float, Double).
The primitive types are consessons to C developers. Without primitive types you could not write simple equiations or comparisons (a = 2+3; if (a==5) ...). [autoboxing has not been there from the beginning...]
The String class is different, almost something of both. You create String literals as you do with primitives (String a = "aString") and you can concatinate strings with the '+' operator. Nevertheless each string is an object.
It should be common knowledge that strings should not be compared with '==' but because of the interning functionality this works surprisingly often.
Since strings are so easy to create and each string is an object the lack ot the interning functionality would cause heavy memory consumption. Just look at your code how often you use the same string literal within your program.
The memory problem is less important for other object types. Either because you create less equal objects of them or the benefit of pointing to the same object is less (eg. because the memory foot print of the individual objects is almost the same as the memory footpint of the references to it needed anyway).
    These are my personal thoughts.
    Hope this helps.
    bye

Nobody in the forums can tell you why Apple has done this.  It really makes no sense at all.  You can tell them you want it elsewhere as well via

  • HT201371 A "bug"?. Need touch ID only for app store and no passcode to unlock the Phone!

Hello. I have an Iphone 5S and have a doubt about the touch id. I want to use it only for getting apps from the apps or itunes store. To unlock the phone i don´t want neither touch id or passcode. Is this possible?
I´ve tried all the options available.
       - if only select touch id for app store, it keeps asking me the passcode to unlock the phone
        - If i turn the passcode off, it doesn´t allow me of course to use touch id anywhere...
Thanks in advance for the help!

    Josh Noob wrote:
I get in and out of my phone 100 times a day I'm not going to waste .5 seconds every time just to unlock my phone.
If you're using Touch ID, it takes no longer to unlock your phone than it does to pick it up. That's the whole point. It certainl doesn't take 5 seconds. Of course, it also doesn't take 5 seconds for me to enter a 4 digit passcode.
    Best of luck.

  • HT201371 Touch ID *only* for app-store purchases and iTunes

I'd like to enable Touch ID for app-store purchases/updates and for iTunes. However, I don't want to have to use a passcode or a touch id in order to unlock the phone. Is this possible?
I go to settings > touch id & passcode. I click the switch for app store and iTunes. Then it automatically turns on my passcode so I have to use my passcode to unlock my phone. I don't want this passcode to automatically be turned on.

that still should be up to my discretion. If i dont store anything I consider valuable in the first place, i shouldn't have to have a passcode.
I want touch id only for my iTunes purchases. Its inconvenient to have to enter it every time i buy something...but I dont want a passcode on my phone.
Lots of people use my phone at home (for various reasons) and i hate having to tell people the password every time someone new wants too look through it (for example, a dinner party i was at the other day, and everyone wanted to check out my new iPhone 6).
oh well. Its as first world as a problem gets, but within the scope of the apple universe/ecosystem, it irks me when i dont have the option to remove an annoyance.....i love just swiping the screen and immediately clicking on whatever app i need rather than waste 2 seconds positioning my thumb and wait for it to unlock. like i said, first world problem, but 2 seconds is a pain in the *** in my high speed tech world...and i hate myself just having to re-read what i just wrote

  • I would like to buy an item that is only in USA store

I would like to buy a song that is only in the USA store. I understand that I can't set up an USA account as well as a UK one, is that correct? Even if I use paypal? Is there anyone at Apple that I could email and ask if/when this song will be put into the UK store? It's an old song so it's not that we're waiting for it to be released over here. Thank you

The only way to purchase from any country's store is to have a credit card with an attached billing address from that country. The other option is gift cards for that store, but the cards also have the billing address requirement.

    Hi again user,
I checked the installation guide, and it had information for installing on macintosh... I don't have a mac, so I cannot comment if the instructions are correct. I'm pasting the unix and mac instructions to see if it might help you.

You must update your Mac OS X SDK to Java Sun version 1.5 release 1 or later for use with JDeveloper. Use Mac OS X Software Update or download from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/java2se50release1.html .

  • Why is biking and transport only for Xperia?

    Hello,
I was just wondering why the recent update only unlocked it for Xperia smartphones?
Is this a technical issue because I assume they have the same sensors as every other phone

I looked into the Lifelog app and it seems that Sony uses it's own libs for those two modes. Therefore it's impossible to use those features on other phones. Those libraries are device specific and it's not possible to easly port them.

  • Why is Photshop/CSS extension only for Cloud users?

Is it just so Adobe can extract more money from the Faithful?
I resent having to sign up to Creative Cloud to get the new updates - some of us have very limited budgest and nearly £30 a month is nigh on extortion!

Unfortunately, it's a case of getting used to it.
In the eyes of software vendors, the business case for the software subscription model (compared to perpetual licenses) is now irresistible.
So the incentives for joining the Cloud will be getting stronger month by month. More and more apps will be included in the Cloud, early Cloud-only access to new features, more and more storage space, new and improved online services etc etc.
The vendors are creating a clear divide between perpetual licenses and Cloud offerings so that your resistance withers to nothing.
Don't be surprised to see the perpetual licensed offerings discontinued sometime in the future. Just personal speculation here.
Adobe and Microsoft and others are addicted to the revenue potential from subscriptions and that's the direction in which their future engineering and marketing efforts will be going.

  • Is Mac App Store only for USA?

I tried to sign in my ID and activate the account as per the steps set for first time user. However, when I comes to the PayPal part, it barred me from proceeding further. The error message was my PayPal was not registered in USA. Must the buyer have USA billing address? How can other countries user purchase app from your MAC App Store then?
    Regards,
    kim

Usually you are restricted to making purchases from the iTunes Store, and so also the Mac App Store for your country of residence. So you cannot use a bank card or a PayPal account from Malaysia in the US Mac App Store or iTunes Store. Just as I cannot use Mexican accounts in the US stores.
The only way that the system would allow you to make purchases in the US Stores from Malaysia would be if you have a US bank card or PayPal account and the billing address for the account is a US address. Even though this usually works I believe that it is actually a violation of the Terms of Use for the Apple Stores.

  • ¿Free downloads only for USA?

I have a Mac since two months, bying music sometimes from iTunes etc., all great. Every now and then I see interesting FREE downloads on the USA site of Apple. But sine I live in Spain I can not get these downloads, and on the Spanish iTunes store these downloads are not available. I don´t understand this? Why is this?
    Ed H.

The issue is not restricted to US content providers by any means; most of the record companies have parent companies elsewhere that the US, and they are just as restrictive, if not more so, than US businesses (the big push for copy protection on CDs has come from Europe, not the US).
You might find this interesting, from This Business of Music (10th Edition) (by M. William Krasilovsky and Sydney Shemel) (and thanks to the Mimico Kid for the reference) :
The difficulty of establishing workable business models for digital files (...) extends to where they are sold and where they are played. This is the issue of territoriality, and it is an illustration of how the Internet makes it necessary to reexamine basic assumptions that have been taken for granted (...).
(....) In the music business the primary problem is that copyrights are national and therefore specific rights are tied to national laws and the interpretations of national courts.
(.... T)hough we can one day hope to see the development of common standards with respect to copyright, the fact that the music business is building upon a history of nation-specific contractual relationships means that the goal of universal international standards is not, for the forseeable future, a practical one.
(...) Adding to the difficulty (...) the copyrights themselves may have been assigned to different companies in different territories. The best hope for a cleaner start and a simpler future is worldwide recognition that digital uses are in fact - and should be in law - totally new.

  • Why can't I authorize paypal for iTunes store with american express

Can not make a payment using paypal after canceling the agreement in paypal by accident. iTunes is not allowing me to create a new agreement with paypal and giving me this error message when I try: You may not use American Express to fund this payment. Please add a different type of card or use a bank account."!!!
There is a balance in the paypal account, and as I understand it the problem is that Apple (iTunes) does not want to create the agreement while the backup to the backup funding method is American Express!!! PLEASE HELP ME PAY YOU.

Sorry, but Paypal is not available as a purchase option in the Netherlands nor, to the best of my knowledge, anywhere other than the US. Why this is, no one here knows or can say.
