my phone is acting up.....have lost contacts for second time in two months, also when I take a picture it goes black and back to 'homescreen'....
I had my phone hooked to computer this morning sync 'ing' for over 1 1/2hours.......
If you are using the iphone as designed then you should lose very little or nothing.
You should be syncing contacts with your computer regularly, so all of your contacts should be on your computer and you can sync them back.
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any attempt to update.
You should be transferring all purchases made on your iphone to your computer: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Are you saying that you had all your music safely stored in itunes and now it's all gone? You might try getting back the itunes folder that contains all your music (you haven't told us what kind of computer you're using) from a computer backup, say from a day ago. If using a mac, look in Time Machine, in the music folder for your account.

Technically the limit of 4Gb per folder should have been removed in a recent patch. Personally I an unconvinced as the developers have said so twice before and something else arose to bite people at 4Gb. So the limit probably does not exist anymore and moving mail and compacting will fix it without data loss if it occurs as recent issues have been about displaying mail after the 4Gb point, not storing it.
Use the Ctrl and Shift keys in conjunction with your mouse to make multiple selections.
click followed by Shift+ Click selects everything between the two clicks, including the items clicked.
Holding the Ctrl key while clicking allows you to select or deselect mail to either fine turn the list from shift clicking or to make one of your own.
Ctrl +A selects everything in the list from the current selection to the end.
One option is create an important folder and move your important stuff to it then ctrl +A the whole remaining inbox. -

On all of these devices, go to: Settings > iCloud and make sure they're updated with the new password. If you're talking about Macs, go to: "System Preferences > iCloud" too. -
I have using iMovie 11 since it came out successfully and did my last project successfully on Monday, July 9. When I opened it yesterday July 11, the projects came up, but I could not access iTunes or IPhoto tunes or images. I tells me to open those programs, which I have, but it still tells me to open them. Any ideas of what as gone wrong?
My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Frustrated with my Mac book pro. It's 4 yrs old and I've taken it in 3 times this year for different issues. Just last week they said my Cd Rom has packed it in. As of this week, I can't connect to wifi or get any of my applications to respond. Also won't hold a charge :(. Is it possible I need a new one? I paid 2200.00 for thus one. Seems like it should last longer than that. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I reset it again and it won't work in iTunes.. I have downloaded several apps before but now it just keeps saying retry.....but strangely my new password got me into this forum site? Help..have I done something in settings?
Did you try the one working module in both ram slots? If it worked in both slots then the other module is faulty. If the known good module didn't work in both slots then try the other module in both slots. By a process of trial and error you'll be able to determine if you've just got a bad module or a failed ram slot.

I have a .mac account, and I was able to sync to my idisk and get an old version of my address book- but still, I've lost a bit (I've now set up the .mac sync to go automatically, once weekly, to keep it more up to date should this happen again).
Yup- I'd definitely back up the old address book somewhere, and not just on the computer you're syncing to. That was so weird. The contacts were there when I started out to the airport last night, and sitting, waiting, watching "Monk" on the iPhone- I got a call. When I went to call my husband, all the contacts just vanished. Numbers were there, in 'favorites', but no names, info- same with 'recents'. And all my contact info- pics, emails, addresses- gone.
When I went to sync later (and, I thought it synced together?), everything was gone. . . from the computer, and the iPhone. -
my iphone has been water damaged and in the mean time ive gone back to using my old phone. But i need to get all the contacts from my iphone i had synced to my laptop, but i don't know where to find them and im not sure if ive backed them up to anything!
If your contacts are synced to your computer then they are in the supported app you are syncing with.

I entered them directly into my phone. Two days ago, I plugged it into my mac and synced it with itunes, but i didn't sync the contacts and they were still in there after.

Thanks, but I checked iCloud and it has none of them.
If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it. -
Yahoo app on iPhone seems to be sending spam to all my yahoo contacts. I know this because my "Sent" folder on my app shows i sent it out at 5 AM this morning and I was not using my phone at that time.

Yes we did a back up, but it's a new computer and we can't find it anywhere on it. We had to "authorize" it through itunes, but still nothing. Thanks for the help

You don't.
You synced your iPhone with iTunes for the first time after how long?
And this didn't happen by syncing only. This means you transferred the backup for another iPhone or you restored the iPhone with iTunes. It is not possible for everything to be lost by syncing alone. All iTunes content on your iPhone can be lost but not any photos in the Camera Roll and the same for contacts unless you synced contacts with an empty address book application on your computer. -
