Cannot restore my IPhone 5, after attempting to install the new ios 7.0.6 software. Checked and approved by my internet security. My phone keeps asking me connect to itunes. My phone will not restore, can anyone help. My phone very important for my work. Please, thank you.

There are two ways that a backup can become encrypted:
You chose to encrypt it, then forgot the password.
If you have company-provided MS Exchange access your IT department has the option of requiring your backup to be encrypted. The first time you backed up or synced after installing MS Exchange you were prompted for a password. That is the password you need.
If you don't have the password any longer there is no way to restore the backup. -
I spend good money for my iPhone i have the iPhone 5 with the new charger slot which is smaller. I have been through at least 3 charging cords and this is not acceptable to me. i never had a problem with this on my older phone. apple needs to correct this and reimburse me for this cord.
Charging cords are covered by the iPhone warranty or their own warranty
if puchased separately. Take your iPhone and the cords to your local
Apple store for evaluation and possible replacement. -
I have an iPhone 4S and never had a problem with syncing it. But suddenly, when I connected my phone to my mac, it says that its in recovery mode, and I need to restore it in order to sync. I've updated both my phone and my itunes, and it didnt work.Help?

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

When I attempt to upload from a CD I get a box with a red X that says new itunes library. What do I have to do to correct this? I have never had a problem doing this.

I would take a look at the recommended steps in this article and run through them to see if they help resolve the issue. Some of the steps may be slightly different depending on what operating system you're using:

Can anyone tell me why I can not connect my Blackberry or my iPhone to my new Macbook pro? I had no problem with my old Macbook.

I'm having difficulty syncing my iCal between my home computer and iPhone. New entries from my home are not syncing with the phone and vice-versa. I didn't have any problems with this before until the latest phone update. Any suggestions?
It could be that the existing wire in your appartment is not clean enough to provision DSL only. When combined with the phone possibly it has a higher line voltage and worked before. Now that the line is to be provisioned without phone service it may be giving them trouble that did not show before they came out and ran the new line test. So a new jack dedecated for your DSL line may require a new wire be run to your appartment. Also the account for internet only used to require direct billing to a credit card or something else. This was a number of years ago. Most accounts are linked to a phone number, and without a voice number it adds to the confusion.
If you are getting the voice and everything turned on as before, then I am at a loss for words. -

Thanks!Well, another case of hurting the good, while trying to go after the bad. What the issue is apparently Apple put in a check point feature around version 4.2.1 that checks for users who are redirecting their connections to gs.appl.com. If the itunes process suspects this, your phone firmware management process stays in recovery mode. You get error 1013 which says you have a hardware error and list numerous hardware related things for you to check. So my iphone sat on my dresser for two months under the belief that I had a hard ware issue. Well the fact of the matter is that there was nothing wrong with my phone. Apparently there are users who jail brake their iphone to run other apps, and for those users, they have an entry in their hosts file that redirects gs.apple.com to a website that is set up to assists jail break users. all this not endorsed by apple. The checkpoint feature that apple put in to detect this uses a timer and waits for a response between your system and gs.apple.com. If the timer threashold elapses, an assumption is made that you are redirecting your gs.apple.com connection, and are a jail break user. Your phone gets put into recovery mode. Problem with this is that there are ligitimet users who have host files that are ligitemt and does not redirect their connections to gs.apple.com. In my case I use a 60,000 line hosts file to redirect adware, malware, and other vulnabilary type sites. The lenth of time for my PC to search thru this file exceeds the threashold period involved in the checkpoint process, and even though the gs.apple.com entry does not appear in my hosts file, an assumption was made that I was a redirection of gs.apple.com user, and my phone was put into recovery mode. to fix my problem I tempoaryily used the default hosts file of
Host Database
localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
I have no reason to prevent my system from talking to gs.apple.com. It just takes a little longer to do so. There are thousands of iphone users right now who have iphones locked into recovery mode, probably because they are on a slow internet connection and their threashold is being exceeded. These folks are innocent victims of of the pursuit of the jail break users. Apple needs to figure out another way to do this with out impacting loyal customers. Apple. shame on you. -
3g Crashes --- NEVER had a problem with 2G (original iPhone...)
Using iPhone 3G 2.0.2 for 1 day after having the original since it launched. NEVER had a significant problem with 2G, but ALREADY my 3G has frozen several times, most recently this pm and I had to do the "Mr.Buzz" MULTIPLE reset x 15-20minutes to get back to "normal"(?hopefully) without having to do a lengthy/tedious system restore...
Apple...FIX THIS---it's time to quit locking threads and ignoring problems, and instead FIX THEM---if it's an app doing it, then there needs to be more constraints on programming---this is an open/closed platform a la XBox 360/PS3 and there simply shouldn't be this many problems...If the phone will not power on try these three things:
Connect it to your phone charger
Connect it to your computer and open up iTunes
Perform a hard reset (Hold down the sleep/wake (top) button at the same time as the home (circle) button for 45 seconds. When the apple appears on the screen let go of both buttons. -
I received the new update from Itunes and after installing, I couldnt get into my Itunes. I get a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing and to reinstall I tunes. I have reinstalled 3 times, the first time I didn't remove the old version, I installed the update over it. Next I tried the repair function under Control Panel. After that, I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled again from the website. I still get the same message about missing files from Windows.

Log in to icloud.com with your Apple ID. Once you're logged in, click on your name on the upper right corner. Click Advanced and then Reset Photo Stream. This will delete all your photos in the album Photo Stream in your iPhone 4S so make sure you have backed up (copy to Camera Roll or new folder) all those that you want to keep.
This is the only way to do it with iOS 5 (not the beta releases)

I've just bought an Iphone 5s, I'm trying to sync it to transfer all my info from my iphone 4 but when I click on continue to restore from this back up, it's asking for a password. I didn't have a password for the previous phone. Can anyone help?If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, & you don't know the encrypted passcode, the backup will be unusable & you will not be able to recover any data from it. Encrypting an iPhone backup is not done automatically. You, or someone, had to elect to encrypt it to begin with, and no, there is no default passcode.
Did you have an Exchange account on your iPhone 4? It is common for Corp. Exchange accounts to require an iPhone backup be encrypted. If you did, you might try your Exchange password. -
I have tried all the solutions apple has offered online. I will not reset my phone to factory settings unless it is a last resort. What is Apple doing to fix this? I had my last Iphone last for more than 2 years and I hve had this one less than a year. My Wifi was greyed out and now it's on but won't connect or locate any networks (but if I keep switching it on and off it will freeze on me again). Does Apple have plans to fix this problem because I refuse to purchase a new phone?
Are there any other new solutions to try in fixing the Wifi that doesn't require freezing or heating up the phone or switching to airplane mode and resetting the network settings as well making sure it's up todate or changing the apostrophe in the phone's name?
