HT201210 editing cities in my weather app

I want to delete cities from my weather app, but I don't see anyway to do so.

1. After launching the weather app in iOS 7, click on the list view icon in the bottom right connerto bring up the city list view.
2. Then, select the city you want to delete.
3. Next, swipe left on the selection,  then click on the delete button that appears.

  • How do I add/remove cities from the Weather app?

I have a new 3G phone and would like to set new cities for the weather app. It came with Cupertino & NYC. Can someone tell me how to add new cities & delete old ones?

    Launch the Weather app.
At the bottom right hand corner of the app is a white circle with an i in the middle of it icon.
Select this icon to remove and add new cities.
You can also adjust cities up and down on the list.
When finished, select Done at the top right.

  • How do I edit the Weather App list in iOS 8?

How do I delete cities from the weather app? iOS 8.2 iPod T5

Thanks, takes a bit more than that. Gotta get the attention of that item in the list by holding on it until it "enlarges", let go and then you can swipe it. iOS 8.2.
Aha, now it is working as you suggested. Wouldn't do that until I deleted a bunch of erroneous cities. iOS 8 has some quirks to get used to. Restart may be a good thing from time-to-time.

  • IPhone default weather app : I can't delete cities.

iPhone default weather app : I can't delete cities.
I'm using iPhone 4S with latest updates of iOS.
In the default weahter app, I added several cities (Detroit, Seoul, Shanghai, etc) for the weather conditions but recently, I changed my mind that I need only the weather in my local city wherever I am.
So I decided to delete the cities I already registered, but checking after several hours after delete, the cities I deleted were shown up again automatically, I don't know why.
This is very annoying and this kind of weather app should work flawlessly because it's very simple.
I don't see iCloud backup this cities in the weather app, so I don't think this is synced, and if I delete cities, that is locally affected for my iPhone only, not other iPhone or iPad I have.
One potential problem I think is.. I found that the default weather app uses yahoo's weather service. When I clicked the trademark on the app, it directed me to Yahoo Korea site (yes, I live in South Korea), but Yahoo Korea's service discontinued 12/31/2012. Maybe, this is the issue, Yahoo Korea's service discontinue is causing this issue?

@LexSchellings I appreciate your advice on how to delete a city.  However if you read the thread that is not the problem.  We all know how to delete cities.  In fact most days I go into the weather app and delete cities I don't want.  The next day I come back and they have re-appeared.  This happens on my iphone (my Apple ID) but if I borrow my wife's iphone and her Apple ID (both phones are on IOS7) I can remove cities from her weather app
    This proves to me
    * That I know how to delete cities
    * That my finger is not the problem since it seems to be compatible with iPhones in a pink case
    * That there is a bug in the weather app [shock!]
This has been written about across a number of threads in Apple communities over IOS6 and IOS7.  Apple just ignore us.  I used to be a developer and the intermittent, doesn't happen all the time bugs are really irritating.  The best strategy as a development team is to find a device that does not cause the problem, "prove" it is fixed and move on.  That seems the be the current Apple strategy.
My real guess is that somewhere there is a record of the cities I want to see (perhaps created on an old phone or an old iPOD touch that shares the same apple ID) - when I delete a city, it stays away for a while but then my local app refers to this reference list and reinstates cities - not sure if that makes sense. (BTW I have gone back to my current iPod and tried deleting cities there but that doesn't help)

  • Weather app (apple's) acts weird

I can no longer get the cities in the weather app that I always had and I believe it is the result of the 4.02 update. Since this update, every time when I choose the 2 cities I need, these choices change into 2 other cities. And they always change into the same 2 wrong cities. Is this a bug in the weather app or could this be in the Yahoo weather server database?

    HI,
I think Yahoo is the culprit. Check out this thread. Yahoo may not be updating the data as often as is necessary. http://macmost.com/iphone-weather-application.html
You may find another iPhone weather app you like better here. http://www.apple.com/webapps/weather/index2.html

  • How do I remove an unwanted city from the weather app?

I would like to be able to add and remove cities in the weather app and none of the intuitive iOS methods I've tried so far seem to work.  How do I remove a city?

  • Nokia Belle Weather App Uninstall?

    Hi there,
I have Nokia 700 with Belle FP2 installed and according to the Battery Monitor, the Weather Application that comes by default with this version of Belle is eating a lot of my battery in the background. I do NOT use the weather widget and I have wi-fi and mobile data connection turned off most of the time. I also erased all cities from the Weather App, yet still it seems to work in the background and it is responsible for about 50 % of my phone energy consumption. It is impossible to turn it of (I guess it starts any time I turn my phone on), and it is impossible to uninstall it. I do not use it, I do not want it - is there any way how to get rid of it?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi Janpetr,
Sorry to hear you are having problems with the Weather app. I don't use the app either, but use the Qoo one instead that is in Nokia Store. To uninstall the Nokia Weather app, goto Settings > Installations > Already installed > Weather widget, and tap and hold on that and select Remove.
I have a new 808 and the weather app does not show up under already installed.  So how can I get rid of this power hungry stealth app??

  • After upgrading to iOS 8, the weather app does not show up results for any of the Indian States/cities

After upgrading to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5, the weather app does not show up results for any of the Indian States/cities. Can Apple look into this or does anyone have a solution to this.

Swipe from bottom of days listed ("Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, etc")  upwards.  I thought it was gone too but it's still there~just takes different way to access it.

Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and either turn Location Services off (NOT recommended), or turn off the Weather App in Location Services.

Thanks for your advice. But what is the link you are referring to? I have showing on my iPad 2 screen icons for Nook, Kindle, iBooks and eBook Search. I believe I downloaded "Gatsby" from eBook search. But when I open it I only get their usual display page with no link anywhere visable - nor access to "Gatsby".

  • Weather App that reports to your notification center at a specified time?

    Here's the scenario:
I work outdoors and live in the Midwest so the weather can and often does vary A LOT from day to day.
I plug my iPad in for the night and go to sleep.
When I wake up, I hit the home button to see my notification center. Contained there is the report from this weather app, telling me the basic information immediately: Current temperature, the day's high/low, any preciptiation chance.
Now here's the added bonus that I really want:
Everyone knows the temperature changes drastically from night to day, so a temperature reading would need to be taken near to the time that you wake up. What if you could set this app to display the information at a certain time? It's a concept just like an alarm where an action is triggered at a specified time, in this case, weather readings. Say I'm getting up at 6am. I'd set the app to report at 5:55am or something like that.
OR the much simpler apprach would just be to add a weather widget of some sort to the lock screen. If that's an option, I'd gladly go for that as well.
So does anything like this exist?
    Thanks to all!
    [EDIT]
I found the solution to my question. I had a feeling it was something really easy that I was just missing. Thanks! Feel free to delete this thread. I would but I'm not sure how or if I even can.

You are correct that things would be easier if it was automatic. However, you will generally find that it is a program with a built-in scheduler, such as a backup program or a video recording program, that left some code behind even if the program was trashed or removed from the system.
As far as the PDP11, I don't think I could afford the electricity to run one even if I had one. The PDP11 is the first computer I was exposed to in medical imaging. I list it because every once in a while it draws out the truth from folks like yourself when they admit to knowing what one is.
I think the first disk drives that thing used were housed in recycled washing machines using the old motors to drive the spindles.

  • My Weather app is not working on my iPhone 5 iOS8

Does anyone know why the Weather app on my iPhone 5 is not working at all?  No temps displayed for cities that are listed and no ability to add/delete cities.  Location is on if that matters.

    Hi 1lawyer,
If you are having an issue with your iPhone's weather application not performing as expected, I would suggest a few things to troubleshoot.
First, if as your configuration states you are still running iOS 8.0.2, you may want to install the latest update to iOS 8.1. For how to do this see this article -
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch iOS software
If the issue is still present, try quitting all applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Try turning your iPhone off and on again -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is stil present you will want to back up any data on the iPhone and set it up as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • How can I delete the 1st city in the weather app

Hi, would any one know how can I delete the 1st city in the weather app. I can delete all other cities but not the 1st one. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Not sure why you can't delete it. I was able to delete all of them including the first one in the same way -- sliding to the left in the list and then tapping Delete. I didn't encounter any difference on the first one.

  • Weather app on iPhone, iOS 8.1, shows "no results found" in China

    Hello,
I've checked about 20 iPhones in China so far and they all seem to have the same problem.
When using iOS 8.1 or 8.1.1 (even 8.0.x) the weather app shows "no results found" when searching for any city in the UK. Only London can be found.
The same goes for Germany. Only four cities in the entire country can be found.
I have checked on several iPhone 6, 6+, and on 5c.
Even when using a VPN and being virtually in the US, I don't get any results for e.g. Manchester.
Could someone else with an iPhone purchased in mainland China do a search for Manchester and confirm this problem please?
    Thank you. :-)
