HT201210 Error 3194 - Upgrading to iOS 6

I can't update my iPhone 4S from iOS 5.1.1 to 6.0. I keep getting the 3194 error. I updated iTunes to the lates version, I restarted my phone and computer but I still get this error. I do not have my phone jailbroken and it had never been jailbroken. Can someone help me please?

i have downloded the IOS6 beta on April and been using it , last night my Iphone4 just switched off and gave me the error (cant activiate your iphone) after som reasearch i realized that the beta has expired and i need to update to the real IOS6, now every time i connect to Itunes i get error 3194 and i cant restor or update because it saya that my device is UP TO DATE

Are you trying to install 6.1.4, or the latest version, which is 7.0.2? That error means that you are either downgrading, or your phone is jailbroken. Downgrading is not supported, and jailbroken can't be discussed in an Apple hosted forum.

HT201210 Error 3194 when attempting update?

I currently have the software version "4.3.5" and I continue to try and update to the "5.1.1", but when I try it gives me the error message "3194" I have tried to resolve this with information from the apple forums and such but nothing works. I have tried un-installing and re-installing iTunes, and resetting ALL things on the iPod. Please I have been at this for HOURS.

i can not update my iphone 4, when i try to update on i tunes it extracts the software but when it gets to verifying iphone i get the error code 3194,
i have tried to update also on the phone through the iphone and get a message saying not enough free space you need at least igb of free space.
i have also tried turning of norton security and firewall but no joy.

Help, Error 3194 updating to iOS 5..

I am trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0... downloaded the firmware, but keep getting a 3194 error code when iTunes tries to authenticate with the server... My host file isnt modified and is not blocking iTunes, but I DO now have a brick for a phone due to this issue.. Anyone know of an alternate way to install iOS 5 without iTunes or get this resolved? Thanks!

I ran into this issue a couple times yesterday during the initial restore/update around noon pacific time and this too was about the most annoying issue I have ever run into. Here is about the only list of things to try to try to get past this issue:
Do a HARD reset of the iPhone - holding the Lock/Power button and Home Buttons until the iPhone powers down and the Apple Logo reappears.
Make sure that your Mac (I'm assuming) has all recent security and iTunes updates completed; Safari, too, made a diff here as well.
Do a HARD reset on the computer as well.
Launch ITunes FIRST then connect the IPhone to the USB again.
Upon recognition, hopefully, ITunes will want to do the Update to iOS 5 for you, do its LOOOOONG back-up, and then install the update for you and then put everything back on.
BEWARE - your iPhone MIGHT have its apps scattered all over the place. IF this happens, after the update, and everything is hunky dory, try and do a Restore from Backup and hopefully it puts everything back in its rightful place.

Error after upgrading to iOS 4.0

Hi, I've downloaded the new upgrade, installed, but after the install, the ipod keeps showing the image with the itunes icon and the usb cable. Itunes keeps showing the message "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it....", so I tried again, but nothing, every time I got that message. So I tried the "shift+Restore" to restore the 3.1.3 but I got the 3194 error...
What can I do?

I am getting the same 3194 error trying to revert to 3.1.3 with my Touch 3G. What a pain in the arse. I had no problems upgrading to iOS4, but I hate the way they changed some of the EQ presents, especially acoustic and treble booster, which I need for one of my IEMs. What a drag.
Anyone have other ideas? And yes, I did get the old 3.1.3 restore FW.

Try changing the USB port (the back one of chassis is better) and restart computer.
The installed version of iTunes may also be too old. Update iTunes.
Also put your iPhone in DFU mode when doing the above and restore. It's a software error.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

It's truely a disestar for me to kill my phone myself by so called bloody upgradation.
Iwish I have not upgraded.
I baught it from here in Bangladesh and now I’m ina mess to get at least a minimum support.
Thanks for your valued suggessions but it didn’tmade any difference to my situation.
So now I have an ipod in the price of an iPhone4. Crap.
Is there any chance of fixing this bug by apple?As the same problem has already been faced by a lot of iPhone Users.
