  • How do I recover data after update from iOS 4to iOS 7

I just spent several hours making a backup of an iPhone 4S working on iOS 4 before upgrading to iOS 7 in order to use a specific APP.
After the upgrade and restoring the backup I have lost all my old apps and associated data.
I am sorely tempted to change to an android phone, unless someone knows how to restore the data in full?

Stop using the drive immediately, un plug it.
Buy a copy of ProSoft DataRescue 4 and use it to search for deleted files.

Your friend did an unofficial unlock and it has now locked back to the original cell carrier. You need to call AppleCare, give them the model and serial number of the iPhone and find out which cell carrier it is locked to. Then contact that cell carrier and see what the process is to officially unlock the iPhone and if you qualify.

  • How to Restore iTunes Library after update?

Updated iMac to iTunes 11.0.5 and lost almost entire library of music (all but 3 songs). Tried to open iTunes with previous library but music I downloaded from CD's cannot be "located". Don't know how to find them. Tried to restore from back up external drive library, but those files are "locked" or I don't have permission. Purchased songs, with some exceptions, will play. Some don't though.
My library was from an much older version of iTunes (2008 or 09), could that be an issue? I don't use this desktop much at all, but would like to have the library be functional.
    1.  How can I restore my library getting all songs to play?
    2.  Should I update iTunes on my Macbook? It's using 11.0.4 now. I don't want to mess up it's library as that's the one I use.

    Hi,
Everything on my 2nd gen Ipod touch was working fine,  Then while at Itunes, I was prompted to update to OS 4.2 and like a damned fool I did.  After that most of my apps did not ge loaded despite trying several times.  I then restored the OS to version 4.1.xx (something), and now I cannot restore any of the apps!  How can I get the OS to restore from my pre-4.2 os backup??

  • Restore lost data after update, frozen on apple logo

    Hi All,
I need help! I decided to finally update to the latest 8.1.3 (guessing that is what it was). Everything seemed fine until it re-started and it froze on the apple logo. No matter how long I pressed on the home and on/off button, no change! Then I decided to reset it and I figured I could just restore data from iCloud. Well, it turns out the last back up was from mid last year and now I've lost so many images, data, texts, etc. I am devastated and don't know how else to recover the lost data. I am kicking myself for ignoring all the back up prompts...do not ignore, sh*t happens.   If anyone has any input, I will be so grateful!!

JJust hold both buttons till it restarts. Humming you may of lost it. But if you been syncing you just resign in.

  • How to restore lost data after accidentally syncing iPhone to new computer?

So, I've been reading around the forum on the correct stepst to syncing an iPhone to a new computer in order to keep all data. Unfortunately, I only saw these discussions AFTER automatically syncing my iPhone with my new computer. So all my phone contents and settings are gone and only my apps remain, because they're still on my iTunes. My question is: is there are painless way where I can restore all my lost data (e.g. contacts, phone setting, VPNs, camera roll photos, messages, etc.) onto my phone again?

lucky you have something left. in my case, i lost my first iphone so i bought a new one and im trying to register for online support and syncing it i just lost all the data in the new phone... all i have is this emergency call on the screen...please help....

  • TS1702 how to restore all application after update ios7

i made update to ios 7.0.4 & i didn't find the old application that was stored at my iphone

    iTunes Restore Purchases
This works good. When you find that apps don’t appear even in iTunes or if the sync doesn’t really put all apps into the iPhone, you might want to head over to the “Purchases” section (under Quick Links) in iTunes store. You’ll find the apps you’ve already downloaded via the App Store here.
Download the apps and you can then sync them to the iPhone. This way, the apps will be back on the iPhone.
    Manual Mode
Perhaps, if nothing works, you’ll have to individually download all the apps. I know this is bad but this option works like a charm although it’s tedious and no fun. To ease things, however, Apple does show you the apps that you’ve already installed.
    Go to the App Store
    Now tap on Updates
    Tap on Purchased
Tap on “Not on this iPhone“
Install the apps that you want.
Arguably, this is a lengthy process but this definitely ensures that all your apps are back.
And oh, do note that if the app isn’t compatible with the firmware you just updated, you might not see the app getting downloaded or if it does get downloaded, you might run into trouble using the app.

  • How to restore Music Library after update to iTunes 11?

    Hi guys.
Since updating to iTunes 11, my Music Library isn't what it should be. I've noticed that some songs have moved from their albums to completely new ones, and others songs have gone missing entirely.
When I look in the actual Music Library folder, the songs and albums in question aren't organised anything like they are in iTunes, which makes tracking the missing songs down problematic.
I'm in America at the minute, but I intend using Time Machine to restore things, once I return to England.
Any idea what happened, or a better way of fixing the problem?

Does anyone have any advice? I'm in complete limbo until this is resolved.

how to restore safari bookmarks after ios. update

The only way is to restore from a useful backup, if you have one.
If you sync the iPad to iTunes and use Time Machine regularly, you would likely have the appropriate backup to restore from. In that case:
Restore the iPad backup set from Time Machine from a date before you overwrote the bookmarks. The location of the backup is ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ (you can get to it by pressing Cmd+Shift+G in the Finder and entering this path).
Connect the iPad, run iTunes and restore from the backup.
If you use iCloud Backup, then you can restore from iCloud and choose which date's backup you'd like to restore from. You can check if you're using iCloud Backup by opening the Settings app on the iPad, then going to the iCloud submenu and looking at the status right below "Storage & Backup", where it would say "iCloud Backup is off." (or "iCloud Backup is on.", as the case may be).
In any case, keep in mind that restoring from a backup means you lose all application data changes after the date of the backup.

There has never been a legit way to downgrade.
It will always restore to the latest available software.

  • I want to restore my data after my pad was reset, but the latest backup was 5 months back. What can I do?

I want to restore my data after my pad was reset, but the latest backup was 5 months back. What can I do?

There is nothing that you can do. If you don't have a more recent backup, you can't magically create a current backup now. You can use the 5 month old backup, or simply start all over again. You can download most of your purchased content again as long as you use the same Apple ID that you used to make the purchases.

  • HT4061 How to restore my ipad after downloading itunes?

How to restore my ipad after downloading itunes?

Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
    Before restoring:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
    Back up your device.
Transfer and sync content to your computer.
    Restoring your iOS device
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. Select the Summary tab, and click the Restore button.
    Click Restore.
After a restore, the iOS device restarts. You should then see "Slide to set up". Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant.
If needed, restore your device from a previous backup.
If restoring does not finish successfully or if a restore error appears, see iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages.
    Additional Information
If your device is continually restarting, not responding, or showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, place the device into recovery mode and try restoring again.
Devices with cellular service should activate after a restore. If activation is not successfu, see the options below.
    Symptoms
Your iPhone may display one of the following messages when you attempt to activate it:
"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable."
"The iPhone is not recognized and cannot be activated for service."
"iTunes was unable to verify your device."
    Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
    Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.

  • My iTouch can only be restored thru iTunes after update

I updated my iTunes to 10.5.1.42 last night, and then updated the iTouch software to IOS 5.0.1.
Now, when I plug my iTouch into my computer to sync and open up iTunes, the iTouch is found and recognized, but the only option I have is to set up as a new iPod or to restore from backup. After multiple restores, these are still my only options - not getting the window with syncing options at all. How do I get my music, podcasts, etc. back onto my Touch?

I've read in another thread, and tried at home, it's a little unorthodox but it worked, so it goes like this:
Plug in your iTouch then start doing the restore backup, then after it started, unplug it, your iTouch will prompt u for a restart, et voilá. It should be fine. (At least it worked for me)
    Hope this helps.
